Began with a bottle of wine and an order for a dinner«combo». More than accommodating to switch lamb for chicken. Dark, warm, tiki style bamboo and soft lighting. Chicken soup for appetizer… amazing. Tons of cilantro, white nonsuspicious chicken breast and wonderfully layered tomato based soup. Dinner is chicken curry, chicken tikki masala and a prawn saag with naan. Everything was very well seasoned and cleaned out my sinuses. The place is pretty quiet and dark, many Indians here so place is packed. I can’t recommend adjoining hotel or elevator to this hidden place, but the food is great and the staff attentive and helpful.

Love the lunch buffet! It’s cheaper if you bring cash. Not the easiest to get to but we find it every time so it must not be too hard.

This place is really good. They have a wonderful lunch buffet. Their ambiance is nice and not too fancy during lunch. There was tandoori chicken, veggie biryani, some sort of saag, and a few other things. The naan was good(as long as it wasn’t one of the last 2 dried out pieces) and there was plenty of chutneys and raita. I HATE the way it’s really hard to drive to. Completely non-intuitive. How did anyone ever figure out how to get here before GPS or google maps? I LOVE the windows and looking out of them. You see the airport and there are some trees with hawks flying around. My bird nerd friend speculated on the existence of field mice that the hawks were hunting during lunch. I’ll definitely come back again, especially considering i know how to find the place now!

This restaurant has a great ambience. Rare for Indian Restaurants. Great view. The food is awesome too. But that’s not so rare for Indian food. What’s great abt this place is that there is variety. The menu offers a great deal. And the buffet is the cheapest way to try out stuff.

Don’t let the location fool you. I’ve tried about every Indian buffet around here and this one is by far the best. Great food & service.

Great food. Authentic for sure. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Reminds me of going to a restaurant as a child. Great views of the airport. For sure, good place to take a date. Prices a little high.

A pleasant surprise! I love Indian food, and I’m always looking to branch out from my staples. When I found out about India Palace, I had to experience it for myself! When the saw the address, I had no idea where this place could be. In fact, I was even weary of the location, being just moments from the abandoned Northwest Plaza mall. I know North County pretty well but still had to break out the GPS to find this place. At first, I was disappointed. I showed up at just the wrong time. The buffet had been depleted, and the rice and naan were both scarce. I went ahead and made a plate, and things were not great at first. However, I took a second shot at the buffet line, and things were replenished and much better. Their chicken with orange sauce was very good, perhaps not my favorite in town, but still quite good. The meatball korma was just as good as any I had tried before, and the Chicken Tandoori was maybe the best I’ve had. Once there was fresh rice and naan, I was sold on India Palace. The buffet is only ten, and it was a Friday. So I can’t imagine that it would be much more on the weekend. However, I’m looking forward to my visit. There is hope in the county!

Not a great place for food, and even the staff are very bad they will not take care. But the only positive is the location with a view on the airport and freeway.

difficult access, it is right off of I-70 but you have to drive through some parking lots to arrive. it is in a hotel/convention center on one of the airport’s surrounding roads. you walk into a shabby looking almost parking garage and you see an elevator. a sign says the indian restaurant is on the 11th floor. i have never before used a groupon and thought: «wow, this place really needed all of this to get me to come here.» off of the elevator is a charming restaurant with a nice view of the airport and it wasn’t noisy. we didn’t try the buffet but the dinner was good. yet another st louis indian place that didn’t ask what spice level we wanted our curry. i can only assume dinners are made to order, so next time i’ll have to make a special request. good naan bread, variety on the menu, mango lassi… though the prices were on the higher end. i view their location as a negative but if you really enjoyed the airport view or lived out in like bridgeton, you might feel differently. i’ve finally found several o-k indian places in st louis so i’m happy about that. if quality of the food and a full menu are your concerns, this place will not disappoint. though i am still confused about spice level because this was like a 0 on a scale of what indians would eat.

My niece chose this place for dinner. I know it’s one of her favorites and we had a wonderful time because it’s quiet and peaceful with a wonderful setting. It’s not convenient from the highway/Lindbergh to access the parking lot and sits in a somewhat isolated location right on the perimeter of St. Louis’ Lambert airport at the top of a dated hotel. I tried the lasso yogurt drink(non alcoholic) she always orders and did not like it. A little sour, not very cold, and not even close to a milk shake lol, just not something I’d order. I liked the garlic nan bread a lot. I got medium-heat chicken korma and it was good enough, however I know I’m a texture fan – crispy, crunchy, chewy, you know. I realize Indian food isn’t conducive isn’t generally prepared as such but i do appreciate the main qualities of this cuisine. The restaurant’s setting is beautiful, in particular the pink tablecloths, candles, lights along the windows, and the view overlooking the runways. The server delivered my drink with his fingers near the rim. Grrr… this bothers me so much, I always ask for a straw immediately. It’s amazing how many servers do this no matter what the prices are on the menu(1 in 10? 20?). Come on managers, train your servers properly.

The food here is consistently great and flavorful in spite of the buffet format. I’m am NOT the biggest buffet guy you’ve met but it really seems to work for them well, and through many visits I have not once gotten the impression that the food suffers or is left out past its prime. The staff here is always on top of things and keeps the buffet looking, smelling and tasting great. The service is excellent as well. India Palace has been around for a long time and has a great view from high on the top floor of this former HoJo building. It seems somewhat of a weird location now because there doesn’t seems to be much else going on in the building anymore but once you’re off the elevator and your sinuses are opened by the miasma of delicious aroma in this place, I guarantee the quirks of the location quickly fade to black.

I’ve been twice for the lunch buffet in the last month. The place takes a bit to get to as it is not directly off Lindbergh. However, you can see the building and go from there. The restaurant is on the 11th floor of the hotel. It has an awesome view of the airport, you should see some planes. The lunch buffet is delicious. There’s basmati and veggie fried rice. Tandoori chicken. Butter chicken. Meatballs. Chickpeas. Broccoli and potato. Spinach and potato. Paneer tiki masala. Naan. Fried veggies. Vindaloo sauce. Mint chutney. There’s salad. Rice pudding and I think mango pudding. My favorites are the basmati rice. Butter chicken. Tandoori chicken. Naan. The butter chicken has large pieces of chicken and the sauce is delicious. It’s not too spicy for those that prefer less spice. It’s an awesome sauce for the naan. The tandoori chicken was flavorful. The naan is soft and fluffy. The broccoli dish had a little bit of heat. Service is good. They pull old places constantly. Really enjoyed the meal. But be warned you may get super full.

7:30 pm on a Wednesday night. Wow. A gem on the top floor of a run down hotel that is not easy to get to. But it is worth the trip. Well worth the trip. On the 11th floor of the executive office building. Don’t let the elevator lobby make you question the location. Have faith that Unilocalers before you have found a place worth visiting. The elevator doors open and you are transported to a beautiful green environment that makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Servers are very attentive and warmly inviting. They immediately bring a serving of pappadan with two dipping sauces. Better than chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. First time I have had Mulgatani soup. A very good starter with tandoori chicken, lentils and rice. Careful though, it is served piping hot. My entrée was the chicken vindaloo. A very spicy chicken with potatoe in a rich red sauce. You have to like spicy to enjoy the dish. It is a very healthy portion as is the basmati rice served with it. Outstanding. For desert, I chose the mango ice cream. The only slight disappointment. Tasty but I think it had been frozen for a while since it was rock hard. If you like Indian, this is a must place to visit.

This location of India Palace is located on the 11th floor in Bridgeton. I’m not sure if it’s related to the location in downtown St Louis. The restaurant is located at the top of a low-rise at the end of a hotel — it was a bit difficult to get to based on the Google Maps directions from the main highway. Parking is in the regular lot then you go to the opposite end from the hotel lobby to access the elevator. I was visiting our St Louis offices for a work summit with two members of our team. Having had limited success with Indian cuisine in other cities(see my reviews for Salt Lake and Providence) I figured we had a 50⁄50 chance of finding something good. The convoluted path to access this restaurant did not lend itself to my having much confidence in India Palace, even with a solid 4 star Unilocal rating, however I was pleasantly surprised! Walking into India Palace you feel more like you’re walking into a tree-top grotto — there’s a stone wall covered by vines and obligatory shrines. The main dining room features tatami covered ceilings and interesting rattan pendant lights — the room is a bit cramped(long and narrow) however the large windows more than make up for that. The view in a word, is spectacular providing great panoramas of the landing field of We were seated quickly(it was a Sunday evening) and provided extensive menus. There’s quite a bit on the menu to study including diner specials to towards the back(per-person preselected feasts that include multiple entrees). I spotted something interesting from the beer menu — Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer — supposedly from Bangalore. The beer was a typical lager about on par with Kingfisher Premium and nothing special — that didn’t keep me from drinking it. We were also brought a platter of pappadum with chutneys/sauces that were very good. For dinner we selected: Mulligatawny Soup — I decided to try it since I haven’t in a while — it’s basically a watery dal with a bit of coriander and cumin. This version was quite good. Chicken Tikka Masala — this is the classic«stand by» that most Americans know as «butter chicken»(I found while in India that every different region had their own«butter chicken» and that all of them tasted different). Kadai Paneer with onions and chilies — this vegetarian dish was very delicious with nice homemade chunks of paneer(cheese). Garlic Naan — above par — none of that powdered garlic junk I found in St Louis Came with jeera rice — not your usual long-grain basmati and without that yellow color — lots of whole cumin seed and very good. We all enjoyed the food immensely — considering I was with two native Indians, I think that says a lot. One of the best meals we had while visiting St Louis. I love this place! I originally gave it a 4 stars but I have since changed my mind! Great view, amazing food, fantastic service and I always have a good experience whether it’s for their lunch buffet or a nice sit down dinner! This place and Priyaa are my favorite Indian restaurants in St. Louis!

After living in St. Louis for over 50 years I finally tried India Palace. This place was wonderful. The view and the food was outstanding. And AJ was the best waiter. The sheehs kabobs was my fav. Don’t worry about getting here. It’s worth the elevator ride!

I would have a much easier time writing reviews of the Indian places I try if I could get the names of the food to stick in my head. I may be getting better… Channa masala(maybe that was what it was called — chick peas in sauce) was very good here. Just a hint of heat combined with their incredibly savory sauce. I literally just made my mouth water remembering that dish. Tandoori chicken had more smokiness than most places. I like smokiness! Paneer korma — two things I love in one dish. Very nice korma sauce also. Chicken tikka — juicy, tender chicken combined with another great sauce. It is not easy to find this place but certainly worthwhile. I especially enjoyed the view. There just aren’t that many places in the world where you can watch an active airport from 11 stories up while enjoying a good meal without having to endure the TSA shuffle to get there.

The dinner although a bit pricey features an extensive menu. They serve prawns, lamb and goat in addition to the typical chicken entrées. I had the lamb curry($ 17.95 — all other meat curries are that price as well) and ordered some naan. The lamb curry was seasoned well. The diced lamb was doused in this decadent dark curry great for dipping the naan in. The meal came out with a plate of basmati rice and 4 – 5 pieces of cripsy and fluffy naan. Good Indian food. Seating can be romantic, both day and night if you like the airport. The restaurant overlooks the entire St. Louis Lambert International Airport. You can see planes(big and small) land and takeoff. At night, the airport lights are turned on so you get to see the different colors of red blue and white specks on the ground. I have no complaints about service but I do want to note that you don’t just get one server. You may have several waiting your table. One who brings out the food, another one to refill your drink, and several others to check up on you from time to time. While this expedites service, it makes it less personal. I have yet to try their lunch buffet but will very soon.
