Blizzard’s is one of the reasons I consider Shawnee among the top mid-size New England ski resorts. There’s always a good selection on tap, a large, full bar, and a full menu. The food is good(and way better than what you find at most mid-sized mountain lodges). Best of all is the view… even if you don’t get one of the window-side booths, you can see the main slopes through the big windows all over the pub. Some of the biggest features on the mountain are directly in sight, so great entertainment. The big porch outside is amazing on a sunny day, especially with a beer and one of their fancy sandwiches. One gripe: When live bands set up, they’re sometimes right next to the(often busy) bar. This makes the otherwise good traffic flow tricky on a busy night.

I don’t ski. I don’t snowboard. I sit and drink while my family and friends go out and tackle the mountain. I can do that here, and watch them from the window, or if I bundle up, out on the porch. We stay in a condo across the street, so I’ve never eaten at the pub, just have food at home, so I can’t review that. Drinks are good and feels like a ski mountain pub should; buzzing with families and the distinct sound of people walking awkwardly in ski boots. I like to watch people come down the mountain and enjoy my beverages. Yes, you can watch the sweet moves of skilled skiers, but also little ones learning, and bottom of the hill wipeouts. I call that live entertainment. *we are here! Husband had fish and chips and I had turkey and cheddar sandwich. Good food, reasonably priced!
