Have only had the lobster roll here twice… but it’s good and chucked full with lobster meat and that’s it. No mayo, lettuce, celery or any other filler. Roll is either toasted or not… with some butter on it… a good traditional lobster roll with LOTS of lobsta. No frills and a decent price for what you get. Would recommend.

No frills place to pick up fresh lobster and crab. But, they also make a mean lobster roll. We were driving through the area headed to NH and needed a lobster roll fix before we left Maine. We were a tiny bit hesitant to stop in since there weren’t any pics of their lobster rolls*. But I’m glad we took the chance. It was worth it. Their lobster roll is simple, but so yummy. Generous portions of lobster — simply dressed with just enough mayo on a perfectly buttered roll. And you can’t beat the price. The lady running the place seemed really nice too. * I’ve uploaded a pic so now others can see for themselves.

Had great cooked lobsters and the next day wonderful lobster rolls. At $ 10 they were the cheapest around and were fantastic!

$ 10 for a great lobster roll. I have not tried anything else. But definitely worth it

The best steamed soft shell lobsters if you can get them, so call several hours in advance. Not open late enough for dinner. Sides aren’t sold, but good ones at Hannafords.

Very sad to have to write this bad review as I did like this place. I’ll still say the seafood is good however when we had a problem with undercooked lobster we were told we were just trying to get them cheaper and they were not undercooked. The Story: My mother preordered 8 hard shell lobsters(2 to 2 ½ lbs each) for the Fourth of July. We always have lobster on the 4th& we had lobsters from Maine Lobster Express on Memorial Day weekend as well –no issue. Saturday rolls around, we had guests visiting for the weekend and were quite excited for our dinner. We went and picked the lobsters up. He charged $ 13.99 per lbs and said he normally charges for cooking but didn’t this time! Sticker shocked, my mother made a comment about how expensive they were. Guess it was the holiday so maybe the price went up?!? Either way– she paid and off we went. We called the next day and found that other places had them for $ 10.99 to $ 11.99 per lbs, Except a place in Casco was $ 14.99! We were all sitting around the table with our lobsters. Having a good time… After I ate my claws and little legs I went to take the tail off and found it not to be cooked all the way through. Usually the eggs are firm and red– mine were black and gooey. The tail was not totally cooked through and the tomalley was dark green and liquid. We found four out of the 8 to be this way. So we put them aside to bring in the next day to show them and hopefully they could make it right in some way. The remaining lobsters we shared as it was the holiday and we were not going to let that get us down. The next day my mother went to Maine Lobster Express to tell them what happened.(Brought the lobster tail and bodies) Well the owner said they were cooked and to just wash the black stuff off. We ate the claws and other 4 lobsters, blah blah blah. He told us we didn’t know what we were talking about, he was a lobsterman. My mother left and called me upset. She had just spent all that money on undercooked lobster. I then drove down to talk to them as I couldn’t believe it. Well sure enough I was told they were cooked and that she(my mother) had complained about the price, we ate the rest of them and she just wanted pay back on them. As I left, I said–«sorry we don’t like undercooked lobster» The owner William Butcher then SCREAMED at me how«I didn’t know what I was talking about» Very professional. We are not liars looking for free lobster. He could have said«hey it was a busy day, they didn’t cook long enough, how about a discount on four lobsters on your next order» but no… We were liars. Sorry but we know cooked and undercooked lobster– We have had them PLENTY of times. They lost our business. I still say they have good seafood but if there is ever an issue, don’t expect it to be resolved. I’m really sad that it played out this way.

I was worried when I saw that Kens Cove had closed but drove by on a whim and was happy to see Lobster Express Open For Business. Very friendly and, even on the morning of July 4th, they had plenty of lobsters & steamers. Be sure to stop in and pick up your favorite seafood!
