Good food! The best French fries around, we had cheddar cheese dusted and we loved them, crispy all the way to the bottom of the container, their homemade veggie burger was excellent, beef brisket sandwich was delicious, price is average for fresh, homemade food, it’s not a fast food restaurant so don’t expect it to be as cheap, nice selection of sauces to dip fries or add to your food, atmosphere is very casual, music is a little too loud for me, great selection of beer and non alcoholic drinks and you can fill your gas tank as they also sell gas!

I was so happy when I discovered Standard Gastropub… Bridgton needed a place where great beer and food is served…

The people working here are absolutely wonderful. And the food alone is to die for. Once you add in the 200 plus beers, you have the best gastropub I have ever been in! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Neat place in the middle of nowhere. The owner also has a coffee shop down the street(Drip), which I actually preferred to the gastropub. The owner was amazing and his staff follows suit. They know the food, the beer and how to customize your experience. Most of the food was average. Nothing crazy, but decent. The chili is definitely worth a try. We are from Portland so this could just be my spoiled pallet speaking… I would go to this place again. Lastly– they refuse to substitute anything on their burgers which I thought a bit strange.

Had a few of brisket sandwiches by them at a local festival where they set up(late) and was surprised by the owners cavalier attitude. Didn’t realize we were such an imposition. Bummer, wanted to see a ‘tude adjustment. Food– Meh but our group was turned off already.

Who would have thought that a restaurant in a gas station would have delicious food and beer? Been coming to Bridgton for over a decade and never noticed this gem. Excellent food and selection of craft beers. Picnic table seating is perfect for kids. Everything from the breakfast sandwich to wings to salad to burgers and grilled cheese hit the spot! Waitress was attentive and personable. Will return!

A very unique interesting place. Menu and food quality are both outstanding. One of the largest selections of beer I have seen anywhere don’t worry non beer drinkers they also have cider wine and some limited liquor.

A former gas station with convenience store turned gas station with a craft beer bar. The beer selection is impressive. Unbelievable fries and awesome wings. Personally I did not love the bbq sandwiches so I will stick with the yummy pub food. The servers are all super friendly and knowledgable. Great find in Bridgton!

Total hole in the wall. Blink while you’re driving down Maine Street and you’re going to miss it. If I didn’t have my Unilocal app I never would have heard of or found this place. Great selection of craft beers including some I’ve never had before. I had a nice Ommegang offering and a Maine Beer Company Peeper. Both solid beers that I’ve had before. Got to try my first Bissell Brothers Beer(on tap) and it was awesome, I-Lucky is a definite winner. I’m looking forward to sampling a few more. We had the fries(best fries I’ve had in a ling time) and some honey/sriracha chicken wings. Loved the wings they had some nice heat that sneaks up on you at the end. Unfortunately due to time constraints we couldn’t enjoy a full meal. The menu had a limited number of offerings and they all looked great. I can’t wait to hit this place again the next time I’m in Bridgton.

A gas station and a pub! Casual, laid back, with an amazing beer selection. The french fries were perfection, and all the food was up to par with what you hope for in a gastro pub. A great place to stop to and from, all the hiking and skiing in western Maine. Could use some more sinage, or art indicating it is more than a gas station.

Yummy bbq, I recommend the brisket. The vibe is excellent and second to none. Very welcoming and unique, wasn’t expecting it at all.

I find this place to be pious and prententious for a picnic tabled overpriced joint. Not only are the meals under sized for the price but the staff is not very friendly. I have been to this place a few times to give it a chance but have been disappointed each time. I wish a place with this potential would wise up and develope a better attitude. You are not greeted when you enter and even the simplest question is greeted with an aire of «if you don’t know, then…» . I’m tired of poor attitudes in mediocre establishments.

It is quite a stretch to call this a gastropub. They serve basic pub fare and bbq and I will admit they do a fine job with that menu. But once the novelty of the place wears off, it seems quite overhyped. Service was terrible on our visit, downright hostile. Beer selection very good but way overpriced. The space is terrible, the beer coolers have got to go. The corn was really good but, really, gastropub? More like indoor food truck. There are plenty of better options around for solid pub food and good beer without the dumpy interior and rude service.

This is amazing BBQ. It’s almost as good as Salvage in Portland, which is the best I’ve had in New England. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and had the brisket and pork sandwiches, which were both fantastic. We also ordered some hand-cut fries to split, which were great with the curry ketchup and wasabi mayo. It ended up being too much food for lunch, but we ate it all anyway because it was so good! It’s hidden away in a gas station, but don’t be fooled– it’s got a great vibe inside. The beer menu has great stuff from Maine and from away, and the beverage refrigerators typical of gas stations have been converted into a tantalizing display of all the drinks they offer. This will definitely be our restaurant stop anytime we’re in the area!

This place is fucking magic hidden in plain sight. On the outside, it looks like a dive gas station. Don’t be fooled. Inside you will find one of the largest beer selections available, paired with incredible sandwiches and comfort food. There’s a bar and about 5 painted picnic tables inside, and a wall of fridges with every microbrew you could think of. The BBQ sandwiches are on point. Fries are amazing, and come with curry ketchup. I also recommend the wasabi mayo dip. Menu is dynamic and you’ll probably see some different stuff by the time you get there, which can only mean good things for you. This place is on par with the most hyped restaurant in Portland, and it’s in Bridgton. This level of undercover awesome is why Unilocal exists. Get here ASAP.

I was told to stop here from one of my friends from Portland or I would have passed right by! Don’t be fooled by the stark look outside because this place outdoes themselves! I was delighted with the food here! I had a burger and fries which I rarely eat but when I do I want it to be really good! It was! They use local beef and thin patties(u may want two if you are a big guy) and deliciously dress it with yummy details! It’s Very cool, hip and fun in there and Ill be dreaming about that burger from Portland for a while. Wish they had a Portland pad! Good job guys!!!

Docking a star for the service. Food was very good but service was TERRIBLE. Our server acted like she didn’t care about ANYTHING and left us wondering if she even got our order right so we checked back with her and when she read it back, 2 orders were wrong. Fryer was broken so we ordered fries but were told we couldn’t have them and then 10 mins later fries were coming out of the kitchen and our server said«Oh, did you guys order fries? The fryer starting working right after you ordered» … And then did NOT bring us fries… Great beer selection Food cooked to perfection(burger) Service leaves much to be desired Get the elote(spicy corn)

About time, Bridgton! My mom and I made the drive up from CT on a Friday, which was taking forever. I kept nervously looking at the clock in the car ticking later and later, knowing our late-night options would be slim to none. We did some preliminary Unilocaling in the car, and this place caught our attention. We had initially decided on another local spot that was supposedly open late. I won’t tell you the name but it rhymes with«Smack Course». On the way there, what do you know but I get pulled over for speeding(damn you 55 to 25 speed limit on 302! gets me every time!). Thankfully the nice cop took pity on us and let me go with a warning. We stumble into our establishment of choice only to be told by a rude bartender that they were closed(lies! it was just before 10; they are supposed to be open til 10:30). We knew Standard was our last option. After some misguidance from Siri we found it and walked in, asked if they were still serving food. I could tell they were winding down for the night but they hospitably offered their late-night menu. I am a vegetarian and my mom is a meat-eater. The two options were a burger and a house-made veggie burger. Perfect. The staff took excellent care of us, even though, as I said, they appeared to be winding down when we walked in at 10:15, with just a few people at the bar. They didn’t seem at all annoyed or put out by us being there. I found Downeast cider in their beer fridge, which was exciting for me as I do not have access to it living on the West Coast. We ordered our burgers and the fries. The ambiance was casual yet hip(«very LA,» as my mom kept saying, and no, she wasn’t talking about Lewiston/Auburn). The food was GREAT. The fries were crispy and delicious and as the self-proclaimed«condiments queen», I loved all of the choices of dipping sauces. After the drama of the drive and the speeding fiasco, my nerves were fried and this place really hit the spot in satiating my hunger and chilling me out. We came back with the rest of the fam a few days later and everything was excellent again. I am happy there is a place like this in the Lake Region and the owner said he is opening up a craft coffee place up the street – exciting! I hope this is a new movement toward more interesting, thoughtful food in this area.

What a surprise to find in Bridgton, ME! This little gas station is actually a very trendy gastropub with delicious local food with a twist and a huge array of beers from around the world. The owner is very friendly and they are open late, which never happens in small towns in Maine. Had the fries, the street corn and the noodle box — all fantastic. My husband had the brisket and he claims its some of the best he’s ever had. You can’t go wrong with this place!

Great food, nice people, and a good environment. The wings were so good, my hands are still sticky!
