Anythink Library

The resources are good here, and the librarians are friendly and helpful. Study rooms are available for two hours a day, which is helpful if you can get one. I come here often to study because it is the closest resource to me. My only complaint is the noise level. It needs to be enforced… I am not talking about the children’s section either, though that would be more understandable. People play their music in the designated study/​whisper zones without headphones, talk loudly on their cell phones, and overall, it can be very difficult to concentrate. It’s a good library, but definitely the loudest I’ve ever been to. You’d think a library would be a quiet place to read or study, but I am often left frustrated.

Anythink is always about 10 years behind the times. The building is large enough for the Brighton population, but the librarians need to choose between retirement and a long vacation. A few of the younger ones make the ambiance fun for the kids, but generally, it’s a place where old technology goes to die and middle schoolers run wild without supervision or accountability. If you want to hear 12-​year olds curse in 2+ languages on a weekday, Anythink Brighton is your destination!
The book selection is trumped by horrid disorder and a computer system that is, well, Dell.
The use of Dell computers should be a war crime. They. Don’t. Work.
Room reservation system and technology amenities are overcomplicated just to get to use…
The locale homeless population can be found in the main computer lab daily.
The kids programs would be better if the people in charge let the younger librarians act on their ideas.
…can’t have that now.
The WIFI is a joke. A bad smelly, sick joke.

Super nice library!!! Tons of activities for the kids… but they are moreless only if you are a stay at home mom as they take place during the day.

This is not the closest Anythink Library to my house, but I went here to get the State Park Pass that you can check out for one week. It is a great deal, with free state park admission for one week. Anyway, it was not available at my location, so I picked it up here. I drove from Thornton to downtown Brighton where the library is located. It was a cold snowy day, and as I came down Bridge Street, I saw the library, but could not figure out where to park as it is on a busy street. I wish they had a huge sign in front that says «Parking Behind Building.» Maybe there was one, but I was a bit confused with all the traffic. The library itself is quite nice and the staff helpful. I just am not a fan of the parking lot or small entrance around back.

Its a great place for kids and my kids love the back to school bash every year and we love the art in the room next to the kids area and we also love the after school programs and crafts the only thing that i dont like is that the floors in the kids areas are really dirty and the electrical floor ports and so nasty and have a lot of old food and dirt inside and all the lights are in need of a good dusting …

I love this place. The librarians are super friendly! The children’s class by Melanie is so cute. She is really creative and understanding. She has classes for babies, toddlers, and three and up on Mondays and Wednesday. There is music and movement for 3 – 5 yrs but if your kid is super active this class is better than the toddler story time!
One of the librarians told me if you can’t find a book they will order it for you. Great place!!!

I confess I am a newly reformed book hoarder. As you can imagine all my bookcases are filled to the brim already and now I have a book hoarder in training. My one year old is practically obsessed with books! I am thrilled about passing my love of reading on to her. I want her to know how cool the library is.
Every week we go and get around ten picture books. Some she loves, some she doesn’t! The good news is she is being exposed to all kinds of new authors and illustrators and the best part is they aren’t permanently clogging up the book case.
What I didn’t know is in the children’s area they also have legos, blocks, an easel with crayons, and lots of other fun materials for the kids to play with. Lola couldn’t be more facsinated! Plus as soon as we drive into the parking lot she starts excitedly yelling «Books, books!» We would love to join in on storytime, but it’s on a day when I am at work. My only request would be that they change the day every quarter or something?
For me I have also checked out a few books, movies, and some kindle books on-​line. We are big fans of our library!
