Owen the owner? Asked me to meet him in Watertown on Pleasant Street with my two rugs to be cleaned. One was an expensive Indian/​Asian Rug and the other a synthetic carpet 12′ long runner. I dropped them off to him and paid a percentage down. Three weeks later I called him and he told me that he lost my rugs. He asked me to wait and see if they showed up maybe having been misplaced. Then I never heard from him. So I called him weeks later and he said he indeed did lose my rugs and that he would put in an insurance claim and said he would forward the information to me. That was three months ago. I’ve waited and now I have to sue him for losing my rugs and the way he has acted, at a minimum unprofessional, I’m very suspicious that he may have stolen my rugs because he refuses to cooperate. I’ve never had an experience like this before. It’s crazy. I would never put any property that I own in his hands I would recommend that people steer clear of this guy.
*UPDATE* 05−01−14 TURNS OUT THAT THE OWNER NEVER PAID HIS INSURANCE PREMIUM AND THEREFORE COULD NOT MAKE A CLAIM FOR LOSING MY RUGS. HE HIRED AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO HELP HIM STRAIGHTEN OUT HIS BUSINESS AND SHE WAS HELPFUL. I GOT PARTIALLY PAID ACCORDING TO AN AGREEMENT THAT WE HAD AND NOW THE ASSISTANT HAS QUIT AND SAID SHE COULDN’T WORK FOR HIM. HE HAS LIED AGAIN AND HAS NOT PAID ME THE FULL AMOUNT OWED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE AGREEMENT IN WRITING. IF I DON’T GET A PAYMENT WITHIN A WEEK I’M TAKING HIM TO COURT. HE’S A CROOK!!!

I am very particular about my home. Avishay Carpet Cleaning receives 5 stars in my book. They were punctual and polite. The rugs they cleaned are off white and one had a terrible stain, which I never thought would completely come out. Talk about clean … amazing! My carpets are 11 years old and look like new. They were also very careful moving my antique furniture. I will always call them for my cleaning needs. In fact, I just booked them to come back for some «spring» cleaning. I also feel as though I could leave them unattended in my home as that level of trust has been established.

My experience with Avishay Carpet indicates that it is a TOTAL SCAM. The guys came to house and picked up three carpets of various sizes and fabrics. The guy tried to push me into the most expensive cleaning package, but I went with the most basic cleaning assuming that it would at least get surface layer dirt out. I must add the most basic cleaning for all three rugs cost me over $ 400. They delivered the rugs back to my home, lay them down, sprayed some scotch guard on it and left. The rugs were still dirty. I fear that for $ 400 and some my rugs were not cleaned at all, just rolled into nice plastic wrap.
