We LOVE Brighton Fish Company! We have been about 4 – 5 times, and are always impressed by the wonderful service from the cashier. The prices are market value. We have ordered lobsters and oysters from them and always have great quality seafood. Upon ordering a dozen oysters, they offered to shuck them for us, which we were impressed by as other fish markets will refuse to. They even offered to throw in some of their cocktail sauce so we didn’t have to buy a whole bottle. They have adorable and delicious recipes around the store while you wait.

I woke up today craving a lobster roll and immediately thought of this place. I’ve been living in the Brighton area for over 2 years and have been meaning to try it. I walked in and was immediately greeted by staff. I ordered the lobster roll ($ 15.99) and a cup of lobster bisque ($ 3.99). I enjoyed the lobster roll — you get good chunks of lobster meat and not too much mayo. I was just disappointed in the size of the roll for the price — it’s served on a hot dog bun. The lobster bisque was still hot, even after my 5 minute walk home, but was too rich for my taste. All I could taste was butter and you could see the oil building up around the edges of the cup. Plus, I had more than a couple pieces of lobster shell that I needed to spit out.
I’ve never picked up any of the fresh fish to cook at home, but am not opposed to trying it. They also advertise dollar oysters and 45 cent clams on Mondays, which I’d also be willing to try.

Really good lobster roll! Price was a bit high for the size. Quality was excellent though!

Just want to give a shout out to our local fish shop. These guys are open seven days a week and when it is before opening time they have a sign hanging «Gone Fishing» and that’s exactly where they are. Have only bought uncooked fish but glad to know about the oysters that they will shuck and the lobster roll.

Awesome little spot, great customer service. If only lobster rolls and bisque/​chowder were cheaper, I’d be there every day! The people working there are super nice too, and they have a pretty impressive freezer of fish/​soups, along with an awesome little hot sauce collection.

I shop here 1 – 2 times a week on a regular basis. Decent selection, knowledgable staff, and fair prices. It is a small shop and they do run out from time to time, so call ahead if you really want something (like if you are making pan seared scallops … don’t assume that they have thousands just lying around — this is not Shaw’s or Whole Foods — it’s fresh!).
FWI — I did not realize that they serve food to, so I have not eaten here. I buy fish to bring home and cook.
The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because I wish they sold more stuff. If they could make it more of a market that would be better than the fish version of the old Savenor’s (not the new one!).

Ordered a lobster roll. The lobster was fresh and chunky, but the bread was simply a potato bread, which was fine. The clam chowder was chunky, and lobster bisque was a bit spicy. It was OK. I wasn’t impressed. We had some oysters too. It was good. We were standing, but it was nice because we were the only ones there.

I haven’t logged in to Unilocal in a while and had to sign in to review Brighton Fish Company. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 5 years, and this place is a dream come true.
How can fresh fish, knowledgeable staff, and fish related fixing be beat. I have gotten a variety of pieces of fresh fish since they opened, and they have all been top-​shelf. But, to be honest, it’s the little things that make this place what it is. The brothers who run the place are down to earth and straight up classic fishmongers, tried-​and-​true. There are recipes on the wall that you can take with you, free lemons, and everything you need to make your meal great– sauces, risotto, flavorings, and a whole freezer full of frozen fish and soups/​chowders too.
The other day I tried one of the fresh soups, a lobster bisque… all I can say is «Get outta here Legal, these dudes have you beat!» All in all Brighton Fish Company is the best thing that has happened to the neighborhood since I first moved here.

Grabbed their 14.99 (plus tax) clam chowder & lobster roll special on our way out of our visit to Allston/​Boston.
Both were truly delectable and pretty generously chunky. However, I do wish they each were even more meaty.
Probably the most affordable deal though and definitely yummy!

We stopped for the lobster roll clam chowder special. It was delicious and a great value at $ 14.99 for both. I recommend it if you want a good lobster roll and clam chowder at a great value.

While I haven’t shopped in the store, I have eaten their amazing fish. We got some salmon last week and lobster cakes. Both delicious. My fiancé did a salmon sashimi thing and it was so damn good.
I don’t like crab cakes or lobster cakes, but tried a lobster cake and it was good. I just don’t like breadcrumbs very much. I love my lobsta plain, boiled/​steamed and with drawn buttah.
Tonight we are going to have some haddock and bay scallops. I look forward to it!

I’ve stopped in to the BFC once and I know i’ll be back. The fish here is very reasonably priced in comparison to places like Whole Foods, and I honestly would rather support BFC even if the price is a tad more because I know the quality is there.
The Cod i bought was fresh and delicious, as were the shrimp. I need to go back for some of the bay scallops which are apparently out of this world. I also think i need to grab some shell fish and make a stew.

Brighton Fish Company is located in the same strip of stores that houses Moogy’s and therefore shares a line of parking slots along the side of Fuel for customers only — great when the street parking is filled up, but numbered only maybe 11 spots.
This is no restaurant. It is a small seafood market with a few cooked options to go — or I guess you could eat at the counter by the window if you don’t mind standing.
With their lobster roll at $ 12.99 and chowder at $ 3.99 for a cup ($ 4.99 bowl, $ 8.99 quart), I opted for the $ 14.99 Lunch Special for a lobster roll and a cup of chowder available till 2pm.
For my money I got a fat, slightly sweet, soft roll about six inches long densely packed with chunks of lobster meat from claw to tail served chilled. Unfortunately due to local laws they couldn’t toast the bun. The bun was a bit too much for me, so I ate only half the roll.
While the staffer who handled my order prefers the fish chowder, I went for the more traditional seeming clam chowder. It was the white creamy sort, chock full of chunks of both spud and clams, but a bit thicker than I like. I’d probably give the fish a try if I come by here again rather than a repeat of the clam.

There’s also a freezer on the left filled with a variety of 20 oz containers of Bay Shore soups $ 6.99, fish stock $ 2.99, seafood stuffing $ 5.99, squid, chowder pieces $ 4.99 (fish?), chopped clams $ 5.99, King Crab Legs $ 22.99, and snow crab clusters $ 14.99.
Senior Customers (65+) are offered a 10% off discount Every Tuesday & Thursday.

Fantastic local spot for fresh, quality seafood.
Been in several times and am consistently pleased by their variety and quality.
The guy behind the counter is also very accommodating and cleaned and prepped my shrimp for me when I was in a rush at no additional fee!
He also let me bring my dog in :)
If you like fresh seafood this place is a gem!

I had a serious craving for some oysters. But I live in middle-​of-​nowhere Brighton. Brighton Fish Company to the rescue! I sent them a FB message to see if they had any oysters, and of course, they did. After work snack was snagged.
They have an assortment of seafood goodies, frozen soups, and such. Looks good, but, honestly, I can’t afford to come here every week. Only for those random slime cravings.
Apparently, they offer a student discount. That’s good for BC students craving lobster roll, like they do.
This place is friendly and nice and really increasing the awesomeness of Brighton. I hope it lasts.

Very friendly folks with an excellent selection of very fresh seafood. I don’t know of any other place in Brighton that sells seafood this good (the seafood department at the Washington Street Whole Foods STINKS so badly I would never even consider buying anything there!). The prices are good market rates, not a bargain but you get what you pay for.

Patrick G’s picture of his lobster roll looked delicious — the potato roll is filled to the brim with delicious lobster meat and the lobster meat looks as if it has been prepared with the thought of making a decent and memorable meal. My lobster roll looked as if they took the lobster meat from the fridge and put it in the roll — to save a couple of bucks, they were mad conservative on the amount of meat they were willing to stuff into the roll. For $ 14.95, I am not impressed — the sandwich should have come with a complimentary chowder or something to make it more of a meal.

I’ve been wanting to try Brighton Fish Company since it’s been opened, and at 6 PM on a Sunday evening we ventured to Chestnut Hill Ave to see if what they had in stock.
We were pleasantly surprised at the selection that was still available. While some popular items were (obviously) already sold, there was still enough variety in stock. We tried the Cod Cakes, Sea Scallops, Swordfish Tips, and Chowder. Everything was DELICIOUS and so fresh! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Brighton Fish Company is a perfect addition to the neighborhood. In the past we would exclusively purchase our seafood from Whole Foods, but Brighton Fish Company is our new and improved go-​to. Thanks guys!
