This place looks like an average bar, but their food is fantastic. The menu is pretty extensive, with a good balance of light options, like the roasted peach and burrata salad, and heavier options, like the short rib grilled cheese(SOGOOD!!!) Their menu is creative, and they have some funky options like the fried pickle burger, k.f.c. banh mi, and the fried chicken ramen. The atmosphere is nice once you actually get inside, although the lighting is a little too dark. One side is a bar with some TVs, while the other has more sit down tables for larger parties. They take reservations which is always nice, and the service has always been great!

Now requiring you to order dinner(can’t just do appetizers) if you want outdoor seating. Lame. Also limiting outside seating to 2 hours

They have a great brunch menu! HIGHLY recommend trying one of their boozy iced coffees they will turn your day right around. I’ve loved dinner there as well. With the beer garden open they have different fun events. I’ve been for taco night and it was so good!!! Also had a cheese board one night in the beer garden which paired with the twinkle lights, made my twenty something yuppie heart pitter patter. The only issue I ever faced was when another server took our food and gave it to another table. Our sever was wonderful though. Extremely apologetic(though it wasn’t her fault) and we ended up not being charged at all for our DELISH tacos. I live around the corner and intend to continue to return as long as I live close by!

The patio is the reason to go here. I went for brunch over the weekend and it was beautiful out. I could sit on that patio all day. I was shocked it wasn’t packed at 1030 am on a beautiful Saturday. The brunch food was not all that gold. Both myself and my girlfriend weren’t impressed. I’d go back for a drink for sure but probably will eat somewhere else.

I’m new to the area and recently came across this little gem! The atmosphere at Devlin’s is just amazing! The outdoor patio is warm and inviting however I chose to sit inside at the bar! A young lady named Jen was working. She was pleasant, smiled a lot and was so attentive to my needs. I ordered a spiked blueberry lemonade, it was delicious! My food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. Jen also informed me they have bunch on Sunday’s. I am looking forward to many more delicious meals and drinks here!

I seriously love this place. Most items on their menu are on point and the drinks are fantastic. I’ve been living in the area for 2 years, and I come to Devlin’s at least once a month and at times, every week! Update: still love this place and have been going at least once a week! Sometimes service can be spotty but it’s generally amazing!

Wasn’t sure what to expect here. Went to grab a bite after the marathon in Boston. We sat out on the patio which was really nice. Great service from the bar tenders and the food was on point. Our favorite bar tender Steve made excellent food recommendations as well. The KFC sandwich was hands down my favorite. We got a side of truffle mac and cheese that was also excellent. Will definitely be back.

This place was good. My boyfriend and I sat outside in the patio area which I liked. When we first got to the hostess stand outside, the manager(I’m assuming) didn’t seem happy and was kind of scolding the hostess right in front of us. Awkward… but she smiled at us and brought us to our table. The bloody Mary’s bar was good! Mostly just different kinds of olives for condiments and all kinds of hot sauce. But over all it was tasty. We also tried the spikes coffee which was good too. I think I liked the idea better than the coffee itself. I got an eggs Benedict dish which was good, nothing about it was better than others. My boyfriend got the steak tips and eggs… and it looked like a kids portion — three small steak tips and two eggs. For $ 18. He was still hungry after… It’s really expensive honestly. It’s good but not $ 100-for two-people good.

Decent food and atmosphere, but lacking on the service. We had an 8 pm reservation and placed our order about 10 minutes later. We didn’t even realize we were supposed to get bread because it wasn’t placed on our table till 8:40! The food came not too long after, but service in general was just too slow. Interesting menu — I got the KFC Korean fried chicken sandwich which was juicy and flavorful. I might be back here to try a couple of other items that caught my eye, but wasn’t happy with how slow everything was.

After living in Brighton for 1.5 years, we finally visited Devlin’s and ended up going twice in one weekend. First for nice post-workweek Friday night dinner, and then we were back on Sunday morning to try brunch. My husband and I really enjoy that there is a nice restaurant in our neighborhood with great food and drinks that we can walk to and not drive. It’s also nice to have an option other than«that Irish pub» or «that other Irish pub.»

I don’t know why I had it in my head that This place was more of a bar than a nice restaurant. Boy was I wrong… Just enjoyed an AMAZING meal. I had two boldly Mary’s. Usually I can only fit one in my tummy along with food but they were sooo good I couldn’t stop at just one. My boyfriend and I split our sandwiches. We got the pulled pork grilled cheese and the Reuben bagel. Both were phenomenal. Our waitress Roshini was such s delight, bright eyed, attentive, sweet as can be… She suggested the sweet potato tater tots. I’m so glad I took her suggestion, they were sooo yummy. The place is very bright, open, and clean. I love the atmosphere. There are two bars, one on the dining room side and another which also has some tables around it but not as many. I am so glad we decided to try Devlins today… We will definitely be returning soon!

Good food but lousy service. We waited 30 mins for ketchup and an extra 20 for our check. Server never checked back to see if we needed water refills or more drinks. Otherwise would have been a good experience. Been there before with better service so hoping it was just a bad night.

I’ve had a lot of brunch in my day, and I usually travel all over Boston to try it. When I moved to Brighton last year, I was in denial that there was anything cool around me. I’ve been a city girl for years now and couldn’t imagine not being able to stroll down the street and pop in to one of 100 brunch options on Boylston Street. Boy, would I go back and scold my ignorant 2015 self. My best friend and I decided one morning last week, a morning when it was surprisingly mild and beautiful in Boston/Brighton, to go for a little walk down Washington Street and see if we could grab a coffee somewhere. I happened to be scrolling through Unilocal and decided we should give Devlin’s a try. We made a quick reservation and had a table waiting not but five minutes later as we squeezed past the crowd waiting to be seated. We were served quickly and handed what was the most interestingly amazing menu I’ve ever seen. The entire restaurant was sunlit, due to the awesome skylights they have, and there was Soccer on every TV. I already liked this place. Lets start off with the breakfast drinks. Mimosa? Choose between six creative options. Bloody Mary? Pick your favorite type of alcohol, and hit up the«toppings» bar that could serve as a breakfast itself. Coffee? Go classic with a full Starbucks quality menu, or spice it up with a Spiked Coffee. I had the S’mores Spiked Coffee, complete with marshmallow vodka and chocolate liquor. It was everything I never knew I dreamed of. On a second, later visit, I tried the Hawaiian, with Malibu and Kahlua, and loved it even more. There is a decent sized«brunch apps» section to the menu, and we decided to give the Doughnuts a try. These mini Apple Cider Doughnuts come with a Bacon Bourbon icing for dipping. They were crunchy on the outside and soft and spongy on the inside, with a great balance of cinnamon and fruity flavors. The bacon bourbon icing is something I can’t describe and give it the credit it deserves. You have to go try it yourself. For Brunch, I had the«Full Irish» to try and relive my days running around Dublin. They made a traditional and delicious Irish breakfast, complete with all the meat you could ever want. My best friend tried the Southwestern Style Hash — made with BBQ Short Rib and all sorts of Southwestern style. We were very happy with our meals. On said later visit mentioned above, I went with the Southwestern, and best friend went with the Corn Beef Hash. Delicious. We are looking forward to trying their breakfast pizzas down the line. I almost feel as if I lost months of possible brunches by not giving Brighton the chance it deserved. I absolutely recommend Devlin’s — and I hear they have a patio for the nicer weather. What more could you want! They are always playing great classic songs, and have live music various nights of the week. This is a MUST for the Brighton area, and I will even go so far to say that all you city folk should make the trip out too.

Devlin’s is your standard bar with nothing to write home about, but a solid staple that is convenient for my friends and I to grab a bite, especially in the summer on their patio. I have always had good service when I have been here. The food is just okay.

I went in because I stared at a picture of a pizza from Devlin’s on Instagram. I was a sad to find out they only served their chorizo, avocado, egg pizza during brunch D: But we decided to go with a cheese/meat plate, something something tater tots, and lobster pie. Let’s start off with the cheese/meat board — it was AMAZING! Our waitress even gave us a little cheat sheet for the spread. Everything made sense. My friend loved their tater tots which we had to sub with sweet potato because they ran out of regular potatoes. There was an egg on top — enough said. Their lobster pie was also delicious, evident because my sisters scarfed down our leftovers.

This is hands down one of the top tasting food restaurants I have been to in Boston over the last 5years. I have now eaten here four times and have to write the review because on all visits, Devlins has hit food and service out of the park. I have had Monday night Curry dish, Surf and Turf and Quinoa Salad. All selected dishes were über fresh, specially prepared and the flavors of the foods proved it. Well worth pricing. Service is attentive and friendly without overbearing. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Eat here… You will not regret.

I’ve lived in Brighton for 5 years. Devlins is the local haunt for good food and a non sticky floor in the area. They have totally stepped up their game in the last few months. Menu overhaul + staff overhaul + prices stay the same = YES! For brunch, have the breakfast tater tots and for an app Korean short ribs or fried pickles(chips not spears, that’s very important) and the staples are still great. Burgers and chicken tenders. If you’ve been here before, come try it again. You will be impressed.

Great local spot! A cozy bar with a great vibe, the staff is fantastic and always accommodating. I am a big fan of the fish tacos however I do wish the fish was grilled and not fried. My absolute favorite item on the menu is quinoa bowl! It’s amazing! I recently was at a function upstairs at Devlin’s and that too was lovely, cozy room up there great for a party of 20 – 25.

This place is a gem in Brighton! I came here with a friend on a Saturday night around 6:30−7pm and we were seated right away. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, on one side it’s more of a bar and the other is more for dining. The service was great too — we really liked our waitress and a man who I think may be the owner was running around, asking diners about their food, bringing out plates, etc. I can only speak for the food, but everything we had was fantastic! We started off with the fried pickles. A great deal for $ 6! They were tasty and well cooked, and the dipping sauce was absolutely delicious. For our meals, I had the Truffle Steak & Portobello pizza. It was FANTASTIC. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce on top was creamy and tasty. All of the flavors complemented each other very well. My friend had the Prosciutto, Fig & Gorgonzola pizza and she was raving about it as well. On top of that, everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious! I definitely hope to be back soon to try one of the many other dishes!

I just went to Devlin’s for an early Sunday linner and had a great meal. They have a nice speciality drink and menu selection with vegan and gluten free options denoted. I shared a quinoa bowl and special carnitas fritas appetizer to start. The salad could have been a meal in and of itself. The«pork nuggets» were creamy on the outside with a crispy shell and came with a trio of salsas. For an entrée I had the roast dinner. The stuffing was a little salty for my liking but otherwise delicious. My sister had the New Orleans pizza and really liked it. We left very full but very happy.

Definitely not the worst brunch I’ve had, but definitely not the best. Our waitress was very nice, but the food took a while to come out and was pricey for the portions/quality. The menu looked great at first, but we were disappointed overall. The ambiance was also uncomfortable — bright lights and the tables were very close together, so it felt cramped. Do not recommend: –grilled cheese/tomato soup: the cheese wasn’t melted and the sandwich was cold –Eggs Benny with avocado and salmon($ 15) was not great and not worth the price –side of hash browns($ 3 for one hash brown) Recommend: –French toast bites –Bloody Mary bar, worth the $ 9 – 10, very delicious!

Come for the food, stay for the jazz. I started coming here a few years ago for the Wednesday jazz nights. Some of the lineup changes from week to week, but it’s always solid straight ahead jazz. The players have become some good friends at this point. Used to be, the food was terrible I mean, it was okay, but it was bar food. A new chef moved in recently and the quality of the food went through the roof. The menu is approaching, and equaling, fine dining quality. It’s kind of unbelievable. That said, the eggplant fries on the current menu are a bit too salty. The Vietnamese banh mi is a good start, but would be better if it were more like a real banh mi. Staff has always been great. Outdoor patio is huge and is nice in the summer and has its own bar seating. I haven’t been to Sunday brunch since the new chef came in, but it was always pretty tasty and their bloody mary bar is award-winning. The flow of the crowd seems pretty random, some nights it’s empty, others are busy. Décor looks like a very nice bistro, which is exactly what this place is. Beware– when the patio is packed, the food delivery can get very slow. Just order another drink, you’re out there because it’s a nice night after all. I tried their beet infused and campari cocktail on a recent visit. I like beets but it took a little warming up for this drink. The beet flavor was strong, accented by the bitter campari. Pretty unique and definitely worth experimenting. Their other beet cocktail is more crowd friendly. I would like to see more whiskey cocktails on the list. You can never have too many options. This also seems like a popular date night spot. Watching first-dates unfold is always fun entertainment.

I haven’t returned here just yet, but wanted to add that right away I heard from the manager and he sent me a very generous gift card in the mail to make sure I come back in and try them out again. Love the food, the booze, and the employees here. So much of my paycheck went towards this place, no regrets. Favorites: charcuterie board, nachos, and flatbread pizza. The smoked salmon platter with Irish soda bread is also amazing. The meh: chicken in a box. Like the presentation, but I’m afraid I grew up in the south. Fried chicken was alright. The bad? None so far.

I have never had a bad experience at Devlin’s. Always a fun spot to be with great service and great food. For brunch I always get the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it’s heavenly. Cures your hangover within a few bites. Pair that with the Bloody Mary bar, and you’re set for Sunday funday. For dinner or lunch I usually get traditional American bar fare(flatbread pizza, burger) but I tried the bahn mi sandwich and was blown away. New go-to. The patio doesn’t take reservations but the wait usually isn’t very long and definitely worth it on a nice day.

It’s not that there’s anything wrong with Devlin’s. The service was good. The beer and drinks selection above average. The food was good, mine and everyone else’s at the table. Besides it taking a while to come out from the time we ordered, everything was great about Devlin’s. Nothing about it struck me as amazing. I could be swayed by the patio, though… Maybe next time.

This place has a cool atmosphere and the drink menu is great. I think would recommend that friends go to the bar and get appetizers more often than I would recommend it as a dinner spot. There were a few things int he menu that appealed to me and I must have made a mistake by ordering the special. The special was ahi tuna with a maple-soy sauce glaze, asparagus and potatoes. The potatoes were the best part of the meal, which made me a little sad because I was really looking forward to the tuna and asparagus. The tuna was a bit overcoooked/dry, but that didn’t bother me as much as the glaze. It wasn’t really a glaze. It tastes nothing like maple or soy and tasted like it was encrusted with black pepper… So much black pepper that it overpowered everything on my meal and I had to chug my water to get rid of it. Sorry to harp so much on one dish, but you expect the special to be, well, special and it wasn’t. The only other thing that was off about the night was that the bartender definitely made my boyfriend’s old fashioned wrong. There was a lot of grenadine or what tasted like grenadine and it was a little strange. That being said the drinks actually on their drink menu were spectacular. I really don’t think you could go wrong. The fried calamari appetizer was tasty and a very large serving. The lamb chops were cooked really nicely and the truffle fries were worth the extra $ 2. I think that this is a great place to go for drinks and appetizers… And maybe the more standard bar fare. The pizza and burgers all looked great. I’d go back for the bar.

We were celebrating my fiancé’s 30th recently — it also happened to be Easter AND Marathon weekend. Despite the crazy timing, Devlin’s was happy to accommodate our group of 24. Not only did they accept a reservation for the back, private room — they also called us to check-in and see if we’d like to move our reservation to the patio when it was nice out that day as they opened around 10:30 or 11am. I’ve enjoyed dining here in the past, but this was my first experience with a large group. The staff was fantastic at every turn — from that up-front reservation and check-in call, to the host staff when we arrived, our server(taking care of all 24 of us on her own), the bar staff and even the manager who was walking around checking on tables and talking with guests. We felt welcome, relaxed and taken care of. This was also my first brunch here, and I thought it was great. The menu isn’t huge but there are plenty of classics and they’re all done well. The portion sizes were a little smaller on some of our sides, but I’m chalking that up to ‘cooking breakfast potatoes for 24′ all at once. I’d probably stretch them a little more, too… THEBLOODYMARYBAR! I’d come back just for that. Devlin’s has, hands down, the best bloody mary bar I’ve ever seen. The base options are a great place to start(I recommend the black pepper) but the options on the topping bar are incredible — pickled veggies, spicy veggies, garlic, all sorts of olives, peppers, capers, and a million hot sauces and spices. Have to recommend this spot for brunch anytime or brunch for a group.
