Not too bad. Nice cozy restaurant. Price isn’t bad. Street metered parking.

Parking can be difficult but be patient their beef teriyaki bento is the bomb! I don’t know what cut they use but the ratio of meat and fat/cardolidge is perfect nice and chewy but not too chewy. I’ve tried everywhere and doesn’t even come close to Fin’s. All their bento boxes are the best in Boston, I like that it comes with fruits as well. Their sushi are pretty good too but after the bento box(a must for me) there’s not much room for other things. I can eat Fin’s every dam day but it’s really out of the way I live in Quincy now so 45 minutes drive… Wish they open one in the South Shore I’ll be there everyday!

This place is simply not very good. The server was absolutely terrible. My order was listed on the menu as coming with rice, but I was not served any, so I brought it to her attention. She looked at me as though I was from Mars. It took a solid 5 minutes of talking to her to get a simple bowl of rice, which also ended up being really soggy. One person in our group told me afterwords that he hated his sushi because it did not seem very fresh. I ordered a jumbo crab cake that was dry and very salty. Admittedly, I’m not a sushi person, but this was not a pleasant experience at all. If it’s on the menu, it should be done right, and Fin’s failed in that regard.

Fins is what every Japanese place should be. Delicious and fresh. I am never disappointed with fins or the nice quiet ambiance of the place. I will definitely come back time and time again! They should, however, beef up their lunch bento… As in they should literally put more beef in it. A lot of the box is fruit.

Finns is a decent place to eat with good miso and above average sushi and teriyaki dishes. If anything though I highly advise to visit as opposed to delivery. Had bad experience with delivery where an entire appetizer was missing from my order and after I called to have it delivered, didnt hear from the driver until an hour later. Overall, good restaurant, just be ready to eat in the establishment or pick it up.

Great sushi, quick delivery, BYOB, decent atmosphere. All around pretty average, which is exactly what you want in a regular sushi place.

The rolls were unique! One of them had kiwi on it and had such a different taste! Loved it

I was eating at the bar on a Wednesday night and saw two cockroaches crawling where the sushi is kept. I won’t be coming back. The waiter wasn’t friendly either.

STAYFARAWAY !!! The only reason this place survives is because they can serve dog shit food to college students and they will keep coming back. I can’t say I ever had a good expectation of it because you know it’s going to be horrible when a Japanese restaurant also serves Korean food that is being prepared by Chinese people. None the less I’ve given it so many chances mainly because this winter was horrible and it was the only restaurant open that you could sit down at, each time my experiences there have gotten progressively worse. The service is horrible, I have never walked in and not seen all of the waitresses and often time the sushi chefs sitting in back at a table and talking with each other on their cell phones and what not. When you do finally sit down you have to ask for water they will not bring it to you. The thing that most pissed me off besides the waitress having a bitchy«I don’t have to help you» attitude was once the sushi is prepared and plated, it just sits on the counter until you make a scene about it. I literally mean standing up and saying in an awkward way can I please have my sushi? As far as the quality of fish I would say it’s the grossest spicy tuna roll that I’ve ever had anywhere and honestly it smelled like farts(not an exaggeration). . Also whatever you do, do NOT go around the back of the building because the dumpster they use is always overflowing with trash and the general hygiene of the place is just deplorable, which is always a good thing when you serve fish to people. Fuck you finz I’m done with you for good.

The sushi is usually great, but I cannot go in there anymore because of the SMELL. It smell is like urine and is completely overwhelming when I walk in. I mean with raw fish, smell is everything. They need to do something and FAST. Let me know when you fix the smell and I will come back and check it out.

Love Fins! I want to eat it daily but settle for weekly… everything is good, lunch specials, sashimi, etc.

I’ve been to Fin’s at Chestnut Hill Ave several times now, and their sushi is solid. The fish is fresh, and the rolls are made with skill a majority of the time. Sometimes there will be some odd rolls with fish bursting from the seaweed and rice, but the taste is fine. However, the non-sushi options here are not as great. I’ve ordered the yaki udon once and it was pretty bland, with a watery sauce that isn’t typical of yaki udon. I wouldn’t recommend it. Pros: –Not a long wait, I usually call ahead and it only takes about 15 mins for them to prepare my take out. –Sushi is good –Restaurant has a nice atmosphere, good for dates Cons: –Non-sushi items are mediocre –Restaurant as a whole is nothing special, it doesn’t really stand out from other Japanese restaurants in Boston I’d recommend sticking to sushi at Fin’s. It’s a great place for a quick sushi fix, whether it be dine-in or take out.

I am addicted to their beef teriyaki bento so good! The staff are always nice and the place is always clean. The dumpling soup is a must-have! So good!!! Very flavorful and light on the tummy. I wish the prices weren’t so high so i could eat there more often but then again that could be a good thing for my waistline lol

Monday at 6 and the place was empty. I think this had more to do with the fact the college kids may have all been home for the holiday but I enjoyed it. Not sure if this is normal for this location but Maroon Five and Selena Gomez were among the artists heard over the speakers. Many songs to keep you moving but not necessarily what I anticipate when eating Japanese. Great food. Very laid back vibe and was clearly a popular take out spot as more people came and went than stayed. Delicious sushi and saki! A+!

The ambience is great, and the food is decent. I always get the Katsu curry. It’s a bit pricey for the quality of the food. You’re mich better off going to Yamato’s.

I ordered take out from here late night at work, I’m an ICU nurse and occasionally I really want a snack/huge dinner late at night. I got miso, which was ok… but I got 3 rolls… Spicy Tuna, Shrimp Tempura, and one that was tuna/avocado/shrimp/tempura flakes… ITWASALLSOGOOD. I have had a lot of take out sushi… and I can tolerate mediocre sushi, but this was genuinely delicious. It was well rolled, it didn’t fall apart, and it was absolutely fresh and delicious. Freshness can be hit or miss when you order delivery since they just drop the food and see ya later… but this was just sooo fresh and yummy. I will be ordering a late night snack from here again. My boyfriend is very on the fence with fish, but I might even try sushi for him again from here! Did I mention it was good???

Good Lord this Fin’s Sushi location makes me realize that you can package shit in a bag, and sell it to college students and still make money. Because I can’t fathom another reason why people return to eat here after having tried it once. I can summarize Fin’s in Cleveland Circle for you with one question: Why would a Japanese restaurant also serve Korean food cooked by Chinese staff? Just think about that one for a minute. It’d be as retarded as choosing to go to an Italian restaurant that also serves German food that is cooked by a staff from Switzerland. If that doesn’t make sense to you, then why the fuck is it normal for Fin’s to serve kimchi fried rice while the entire staff speak Chinese? Look. I get it. You’re sometimes shit out of luck when it comes to dining options. But you’re better off walking down to the 7 – 11 and buying some nacho dogs than paying $ 20 a person to eat at Fin’s. Trust me. If you ignore what I am saying, please come back after your Fin’s trip and vote«Useful» on this post once you see what I am talking about.

This used to be our little place and the service is ALWAYS on point, the sushi is the best I’ve experienced in Boston or Rhode Island and the prices are always great. We typically get out of here in less than 50 bucks with tip for the two of us. If you’re in the Brighton, Fenway or Beacon HIll area, this is where it’s at for sushi.
