Not sure why people would rather frequent Panera rather than this place. Everything I’ve had here has tasted fresh, homemade and flavorful. I’ve had their chicken pot pie, beef pot pie, dessert pies, sandwiches and soups(their lobster bisque is pretty damn good). Last I was there, they just started serving a new item, pasties(for the unknowing, pasties are hand pies filled with savory filling), which I would like to try! Some reviewers complain about the prices here, but I’ve spent way more at Panera for mediocre food. They have a $ 10 combo where you can get an individual chicken pot pie, fresh salad and a slice of dessert pie. Try this place… you won’t be disappointed.

Great food, great service! My favorite item so far has been the lobster bisque. I’m afraid that it’s a seasonal item, so I have been ordering it every time I’m there! I also love the Mediterranean veggie sandwich. It comes in a sandwich or a wrap. I personally like the wrap version the best. As for the pie, hands down, the best pie in town! Well done, Grand Traverse Pie Co!

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. When the food is done right it is delicious, although overpriced. There is a ton of variety on the menu, which is great. The service is lackluster. I feel as though they’re always understaffed, therefore, the wait is long. When my coworkers and I order to go, something is messed up 4 out of 5 times. Also their water tastes like you’re licking a stainless steel oven door.

Every time I stop in one of these restaurants, I’m happy. The choice of sandwiches are great, all made with fresh ingredient and delicious, and than it’s time for dessert. As the name implies«PIE» you need to have a slice of pie. I would suggest the Lake shore Berry Crumble

All the food is delicious. I always get the Ruben with double meat sometimes I change it up. The atmosphere is relaxing and casual. I make it here once a week with work. They also have really good coffee. I thought it was just a pie shop but they have sandwiches, wraps, pot pies, quiche, and lots of deserts and cookies. The staff is great and you don’t have to wait long for your food.

Disappointing. Their salads are excellent, everything else is pretty middle of the road. Their pies or nothing to get excited about.

This location no longer offers the Maurice Salad. The cherry chicken salad was very good and I remembered to order without cheese. The pies are great, especially the natural apple made without sugar. Although rather small, there are two nice areas to sit and dine in.

Pies are great… Sandwichs and wraps are just as good. The dinning area has a few fire places that make it cozy. The service is typical for a fast food. One negative is the open back storage area, it is visible from the order station and looks very messy

Where has this place been all my life?! Pie by the slice? Delicious sandwiches, salads and soups? Love this place! Panera… watch out!

This is the best pie you can buy! I love pie and believe myself to be something of an expert. Most pie you get in a store or restaurants are ok, some better or worse. But these are great. Specifically I am talk kin about their fruit pies. I have not bought their other kinds like cream or pecan, etc, so I don’t know about those. But the fruit pies are really heavy compared to picking up other pie so throat gives you an idea of the quality. Lots of real fruit. I specifically like the balance of the sweet and tart balance in the flavor. I first got them about 10 years ago at this location and I’ve never had a bad one. Best to pick them up here vs theirs sold in supermarkets because they are fresher.

Great pot pies. Marked down 1 point because they no longer have the steak pot pie available for lunch.

I, and my family, absolutely LOVE their pies and desserts! Well worth the money to buy a whole one and bring it to a party or just get a couple of slices for an incredibly DElish dessert!

This place is great. We had to kill some time on the way to the airport and we stopped here for lunch and a couple of pies for families. The soups were fantastic and the pies we brought to the multiple family get togethers were well received. The berry pies were right out of a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving painting, but tasted better.

A lovely little place my girlfriend introduced me to. They do soup-and-sandwich combos, which I’m a total sucker for. They have a lot of interesting foods, regardless; it’s a nice change of pace from the cookie-cutter-ish restaurants you see so much of these days. I hate to say that I didn’t try the pie at all, but I’m looking to remedy that sooner or later. I was a bit bummed that they didn’t have much in the way of decaf tea, though. I also really dig that they have a large checkerboard onsite. However, if I’m in the restaurant, please don’t play it. ;)

I totally didn’t know about this place until my friend took me here. I really don’t like pie, and I really don’t like fruit with my desserts. This is the starting point where I started to like apple pie. This is chain(currently only in MI) but when you walk in it smells really good and there are plenty of fresh pies on display to your right. I just ordered what my friend recommended because I don’t eat pie. I got a slice of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a cup of hot coffee. And you know what? It was really good! I’ve come here many times since then for this treat. Coffee is not bad either. Try it, even if you don’t like pie.
