Went to the Rochester location last night for a belt graduation dinner. We were seated in ample time, as there were a dozen of us and the place wasn’t busy at all. Our drinks came quickly, though that order wasn’t completely correct. When the waitress came around for our orders, we notified her we were ordering appetizers first, then our meals. Our appetizers came out the same time as our main courses. She came around so seldom we asked another waitress for pitchers of water. When it came time to pay the bill, she was quick to get us our checks. As for boxes, we had to get up and go to the kitchen to ask for some, only to find about 4 waitresses standing around chatting… including ours. Extremely disappointed how this establishment has gone downhill. We will absolutely not be returning.

The food is good and the prices are about what you would expect. They usually have a good selection of local beers. I’ve eaten at a few of Zebb’s locations and always had a good experience.

I really like Zebb’s. I have always had excellent service. My young daughter really enjoys it, too, and the kid’s menu is great. The prices are very affordable and I have always enjoyed my meals. The cookies really are especially tasty, so I always try to save room for at least one. :)

Although the menu is huge & the dining room is trying very hard to make it seem less like a bar & more like a restaurant, you get what you’d expect: moderately overpriced fried American food & over the top«zebbs» style advertising/décor. All that being said, the service has always been good when we sit in the bar booths & you can tell they use freshly cut natural fries. The condiments bar(omygod unlimited pickles) & bakery(chocolate chip cookies made by Jesus himself) are what really earned the third star.

I’m not a fan of chains but it’s the closest decent good to Rita’s which is my current obsession. I had the mushroom Swiss bacon burger well done and it was perfect actually. I rarely say that too. The fries were seasoned and fresh as well. There wasn’t a lot of people in there at 530 which was perfect for my Autistic son who can’t handle noise. Overall kinda impressed!

Burgers are great and they have a condiment bar. I love their mashed potatoes and gravy. Buffalo Chicken Wing dip is the best I have ever had. Hands down. They always have great customer service and good beer selection. Don’t forget to get the cookies!

Always had a good experience at Zebb’s. The French fries are freshly made and delicious. I always get the chick taco salad and it is consistently very good.

So I went here about 3 weeks ago. I believe it was a Thursday… Doesn’t matter. When I got out of the car, all I could smell was a nasty grease trap stench. It had a rotting carcass kind of aroma to it. Yikes. I proceeded inside, not sure why, and waited to be seated. There were some random people in there, sitting at booths, all of which looking quite miserable. Trying to track down an employee was going to be tough. Who knew where these people were. Finally someone comes up to seat us. I gingerly waltz from the lobby to the booth, attempting to stay on the carpet as if I was a kid playing hop scotch. The moment that carpet was no longer there, I felt my feet begin sliding under me. It felt like I was walking on a jello mold. Disgusting. We sat in the booth that was flithy beyond compare. We looked at each other and without even saying anything, all 3 of us stood back up. I blurted out, «I can’t», «I just can’t». Ericka said, I know what you mean, I’m glad we are leaving. This was the extent of the visit. I did not eat, nor would I ever go back to try anything there. Yuck.

Today(7÷3÷14) my wife and I stopped in for lunch. Several factors make this a no-go restaurant ever again. 1. When we arrived, there was no-one around — no diners, no servers, no-one. We waited a few moments and quipped a few«hello’s». I checked the bar, and there was a gentleman drinking a pint, but no bartender. After we decided that we were to seat ourselves, a young waitress popped over and said«oh, I will seat you, you do not seat yourself» — fine by me, just if that is policy, then do your job! 2. After we were seated in the vacant dining area, which is quite a cool, eclectic mix of 50’s Americana décor, We were given menus and we ordered our lemonaids. As we perused the menu, a few others came in and were seated. The waitress came by and took our orders. My wife had the burger, and I had the reuben sandwich and cheese on the fries. As we waited, more and more people came in, and the place began filling up. After waiting 20 minutes, we saw another table receive their food — a couple of club sandwiches — they arrived after us. Yet, since it was just cold sandwiches, no big deal. Then we saw plate after plate of food arrive at other tables who had ordered their items after we had. I finally caught our waitress after 30 minutes of waiting to find out what the hold-up was. Her reply was«We are busy» as if I couldn’t see that already. I replied that it doesn’t take 30 minutes to cook a burger and a sandwich. She then proceeded to give me excuses about why my food was taking so long — including that they were busy, and the other people ordered food that did not require a chef. At this point, I was a bit annoyed, and told her that it was unacceptable. She turned and replied that she would get the manager. Why? just deal with it like an adult! If I complain about the wait, do not try to justify your poor performance, just apologize and tell me you will check on it. 3. However, as soon as she left, out came our food a few seconds later — still no apology about the wait. The food was good, I will give you that. After about 10 minutes, the manager came, crouched on the floor, and folded his arms on the table to use as a headrest as he spoke with me. He continued to give the same lame excuses without ever apologizing. It was at this point that I realized that the management really does not give a crap about their customers. Not once was an apology issued, never did the manager act professionally by standing up and presenting himself as a manager rather than an impetuous child, and never did he bother to make amends. The last time I received customer service this poor, was 26 years ago at a pizza joint — I never went back there either. Zebbs lost a potential regular customer based solely on the waitress and manager. The food was good, yet due to the customer service, this make a stay away place for me.

When my friends found out that I would be in town, they told me to come here with them and try the Zebb’s wings. Obliged and came with an appetite to try all the delicious flavors my friends chose for the table on 50 cent wing night. The flavors were outstanding because you can mix your favorites together. After drinks and wings and trivia! the night was getting late. About to ask for our checks, a curve ball, a buddy asks for a box of cookies. Few minutes later, Bam! cookies with our checks. The night of great wings, drinks, friends, trivia, and cookies came to an end. Only 4⁄5 stars because this place do offer other foods and I should at one point try some here and there. Will return and look forward to more great memories.

Not worth the trip. Looking for tomatoes for your burger on the toppings bar? Don’t be ridiculous, who ever heard of putting a tomato slice on a burger? Expect your server to be anything but absent and disinterested? Then you’re definitely at the wrong place. Think the staff might care if you mention you found the service to be sub-par? Think again…

This place is an odd hybrid of a diner and sports bar. Decked out in neon and 50’s kitsch, it should be fairly obvious that this is not some place you go for anything fancy. So, why might you come here? 1. You want bar food. You can get it here! It’s a diner menu. It’s massive. Burgers, wraps, appetizers, fajitas, ribs… all there. So are things like steak, but that’s not something I think I’d try here. That said, here is what I can vouch for: –With house ground beef, fries cut in house, and freshly baked bread… the burgers are on par with a place like Five Guys. They’re greasy to be sure, but it’s a diner. They have a toppings bar and I tend to load up on pickles. Which reminds me: –The fried pickles. Light with just the amount of breading. Again, greasy but what do you expect from fried pickles? –Freshly made cookies. With big chocolate chunks, these are quite good, and if you go towards the end of the night sometimes they are half price. It should go without saying that nothing is award winning, but if you’re in the mood for a burger or something else unhealthy? You could do FAR worse. 2. The beer selection is surprisingly good. You might expect nothing other than Genny Light and Batty Blue here… but you’d be wrong. They tend to rotate a lot of local craft beers(Roc Brewing, 3HB, etc) and even had a special menu during last year’s Real Beer Week. The best part is that the beer is CHEAP here. On my most recent visit, two 22 oz Roc Brewing Dark Milds only set me back 10 bucks. 3. The bar itself. I stick to beer here, but I’ve found this is a nice cheap place to kill a couple hours. The bartenders Chris and Beth are friendly and funny, and I tend to strike up a random conversation with someone new every single time I’m in here. It’s got a nice neighborhood sports bar feel and like I mentioned above… it’s inexpensive. There are appetizer specials every night in the bar area. And if you come after 9PM? You can get a 6 dollar burger and fry special. They’ve also got a decent trivia night on Tuesdays, though the prize is usually only a 10 dollar GC for the winner. Bottom line: If you come here: — I recommend bypassing the dining room and sitting in the bar area. — Keep in mind that this isn’t fancy and the food is a bit inconsistent… but it’s a good place for bar food like burgers and appetizers.(In general I’d gladly come here over The Distillery or other similar options.) –Take a look at the beer selection — you might be pleasantly surprised by your options. –Check your mailbox for coupons. If you eat in the bar you might not need them, but if you’re feeling squeamish, at least you can save a couple bucks.

All I can say for this place is to stay away! Once in awhile I would go here with friends or family over the years and always dreaded the experience. I understand Zebb’s started in Syracuse, and a friend who grew up there has fond memories of the franchise, but the food is absolutely awful and has let me down on every occasion. If you’re going to dine here, be sure to bring an extra stash of mints with you — you’re going to need them! I know I did. It’s pretty much a burger joint/diner that I could easily compare to a college campus or high school’s cafeteria. Everything is overly greasy and the fried items(like chicken fingers, fries, or onion rings) taste like old oil they were fried in that hadn’t been changed in weeks(if not longer I fear). There’s a «sides» bar in part of the restaurant where you can grab condiments and toppings to add to your burger such as lettuce, onion, or tomato, but whenever I’ve seen it, I could swear the veg has been out there for days, maybe having been wrapped in cling film overnight. On several occasions in the warmer seasons, I’ve also noticed a lot of flies in the restaurant which also makes me a little sick to my stomach. When the floors are dirty and bugs are about, it just screams unsanitary to me which instantly kills any appetite I might have had. If you’re looking for a burger or an inexpensive diner, there are far better options in Rochester than risking setting a foot in here.

I ordered a well done burger with guac, Swiss & grilled onions on their freshly made bread and it was perfection! My regular fries were cold and sad so I asked to sub sweet potato fries and literally 30 seconds later they arrived. I read that apps are ½ price after 9pm and kids eat free which explains the large # of families in the dining room and the packed bar area. Deni says: If you are craving a great burger– run don’t walk!

I really thought their hand-cut fries and chili were quite good. My husband’s ordered«rare» burger was brought out medium well, but the taste was ok. Kids menu had all the standard fare. All in all not a bad casual place for lunch or dinner.

Zebb’s has been a Brighton institution for a long time. At one time we were fairly regular customers but tapered off as our kids grew older. If your taste veers towards burgers and bar food, you’ll be moderately pleased with their selection. Zebb’s interpretation of Mexican food, however, is pretty meh & their«Diner Food» menu lacks a certain«je né sais quois.» If you want diner food, go to Jay’s Diner on West Henrietta…

Quick description, «Classic American diner food.» Zebbs has been around for awhile and they have decent food. Many reviewers compare to Chili’s or other chains, but Zebbs is different and a regional staple. Many locals dined here as kids and will continue to bring their kids. I think this tradition speaks volumes about the establishment because Zebbs is food that you can trust. It’s never anything amazing or spectacular but you know that you can count on it to be a dependable standard. They are always offering coupons, discounts, free kids meals and more, which is a huge incentive to grab something from here. Zebbs beats out most local diners in my book.

This place is neither good or bad. The food is okay to eat, but it’s not as fantastic as a good place. They have a lot of options and food categories. And I guess that works for a family of 5 with picky eaters and expanding waistlines. There is virtually nothing healthy or not deep fried on the menu and even their under 600 calorie menu is a joke. I ordered a jalapeño burger and was mostly pleased. It could have been spicier, but can’t complain. There was no tomato at the burger toppings bar. And their«horseradish» mayo barely had any flavor.
