I was really looking forward to eating at Sea Levels, as it came highly recommended from several friends and many Unilocalers. My experience was just so-so: Food(3 out of 5 stars) I ate here on Tuesday which is their«Taco Night»…4 dollars for any taco which includes fish, fried chicken, pulled pork, sweet potato or beef. I ordered the fish and fried chicken. The tacos were good but the portion size was very small. The fried chicken tacos had a delightful combination of battered chicken and dill pickle spears but the dish was missing a sweet/tangy sauce and a spicy element. The fish in the fish taco was absolutely delicious. It was blackened and cooked perfectly, but the taco had shredded lettuce instead of cabbage – this was an odd addition. The mango salsa was fresh and flavorful; I just wish they used more. The fish taco was also missing a sauce, like a nice lime-cilantro crema. The portion size was so small that I had to stop at a bodega in Brentwood on the way home to get some empanadas. Service(3 out of 5 stars) The service was not bad but it wasn’t anything to write home about. The bartender was nicer than a robot but not overly pleasant or gregarious. I think you needed to be a regular to get her full attention. Other Points: The pretzels at the bar were a nice touch but they were a little stale. The bar also had only three beers on tap and they were nothing special. I’m going to come back again to try some other offerings as they have a very nice eclectic menu, but I will not be back for ‘taco night’. PS-Why does News 12 Long Island have to be on all the TV’s when the Mets are playing?

Made a reservation for 4 people at 8pm and was sat promptly that’s where the positives ended … The waitress came over to our table and when we asked about the specials she said they were all sold out I think that was our first strike on this place. My brother in law ordered the baked clams and they were horrible then we ordered dinner. We all ordered swordfish which came out looking like this little small medallion of frozen fish on top of cous cous with some sort of a metallic tasting canned tomato sauce poured around it … They were all promptly sent back and we asked for the check… Maybe they had a bad night but for a first impression I was not impressed

The reason for the extra star is the service. The service was great! Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the food. We asked for 4 different things and they didn’t have it. Then we had the food thinking hopefully it would be good and it wasn’t. Very disappointed after seeing he good reviews that were on here.

I would rather keep this a hidden gem in the south shore so all the idiots don’t end up going there but that would be a disservice to a great chef and amazing menu. The restaurant has a great feel. The bar is neat and clean. The dinning room is warm and comforting. Then the menu… omg…they make the greatest food. I can’t believe how fresh the seafood was. Will definitely be going back.

Food has gotten worse since I was last there. Salads were wilted and brown. Room was ice cold! Most patrons had their coats on. This wasn’t the first time people complained about it being so cold. Because it was so cold the coziness was lost. Hamburger was very good and buffalo shrimp was adequate.

Great place. Fresh food. Amazing staff. Sabrina is top notch. First time here and can’t wait to come back. Lobster shepherds pie and ahi tuna are highly recommended.

Food was very good. Didn’t order an entrée just ordered a bunch of small plates… Which pleasantly were not small at all… Blackened Fish tacos had a nice heat to them, Asian calamari as well. Shrimp po boy pizza had a nice flavor combo. Bacon Mac and cheese was slightly underwhelming but that’s nit picking on my part. Definitely will be going back again to try some more items.

The food and service here are wonderful. I only have had the burger(twice) for my main dish, but everything else I’ve tried from other people’s dishes has been fantastic. I’ll likely give another dish a try next time I go back, but the burger is just too good!

Yet another outstanding meal at our neighborhood gem. Owner/Chef Monty does an amazing job with his specials. Always offering some delectable additions to the menu. Service, as usual, is the best. Even on a crowded night they were spot on. Can’t miss with Sea Levels! Continues to be the go-to spot.

Two words: Weekly Specials! Thursday nights there is no place I’d rather be. Sea Levels has the best burgers and brews around. Tapas on Tuesdays are a clear second. Great atmosphere and the whole staff is more than accommodating. I have been here with family and friends and we seem to all agree that Sea Levels just can’t be beat!

I find that Sea Levels is a comfortable place to go with family and friends, from just the two of you to a large group. I love the food here and they have a decent selection of wines. Last night, while it was snowing pretty intensely, the restaurant was full. I had crab cake appetizers and the cod special. Outstanding. I have been here numerous times and it has yet to disappoint. I never go to the bar on the opposite side of the restaurant but it looks like a nice older mature crowd. The restaurant dining area is separated from the bar by a wall partition so you never hear any noise coming through from the other side. Nice place.

Waitress was not happy to be working. She was very sarcastic and pushy. You could feel that she did not want to be there. The restaurant was half full so I didn’t see the need for the rush. We wanted to take our time and enjoy the 2 bottles of wine that we ordered. My mussels were so EXTREMELY salty that I had to take bites of bread and sips of wine in between each shell. The mozzarella in my salad was of sub par quality. The reason for the 3 stars and not 2 is because I had a nice buzz going at dinner and I enjoyed the company of my friends. This place has such potential. What a shame :(

Went to this restaurant for dinner with friends. Wow! The food was outstanding. I ordered the salmon, friends ordered scallops with pasta. Out of this world! Fairly priced, decent crowd. Loved the place. The waiter was extremely attentive.

Try this place out on Thursday for burger night ! $ 5 burgers and add on the extras for the best burger ever! My favorites are the egg sunny side up, bacon sautéed onions and cheddar cheese, you will thank me I promise ;) Fridays they have live music and happy hour until 7pm Wednesday is ladies night and they serve the price fixed menu for 14.99 and $ 15 house bottles of wine. Tuesday is tapas and big wines. They will allow you to open any bottle on the menu. And the tapas selections change every week !

Sea Levels Restaurant was our dinner recommendation while visiting Brightwaters on Long Island. The restaurant has two dinning rooms — allowing diners to enjoy two different atmospheres — a bar room and a fine dinning room — both accommodating to your personal mood and attire. I had the Swordfish with creamy basil risotto and spinach. The capers and tomato sauce completed every element on this dish. My partner had the hamburger. He said it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Finishing our dinner, we had the warm Chocolate Cake with ice cream, and per Chef Monty’s suggestion, the Kahlua Cream Brulee. The cream brulee was creamy and had a consistent crunchy caramelized topping. Having a great menu, wine and beer selection, then friendly wait staff made Sea Levels a great recommendation.

Tasty burgers! As we walked into the bar(has some seating), we were greeted by the hostess that seated us in the dining room next to the bar(separated by pocket doors). Thank goodness for the doors as it was quite loud in the bar. It’s a small but nicely decorated area. Seems to be another dining room in the next room over, but I’m not positive. Waitress was very nice and pleasant; service was good. My friend told me that their burgers were great, and I’m always up for a burger! It was tasty… seasoned well. I liked the bun(not the typical burger bun)…almost like a brioche bun? Any additional toppings are $ 1.00(including cheese). You can pick from a side of fries or salad to go with the burger($ 8.00). I was surprised to find that lettuce and tomato didn’t come with the burger. And the Kahlua Crème Brulee was yummy! Definitely give it a try. Only negatives were that it was cold… felt like cold air was blowing instead of heat. And the huge arm chairs were too low profile for the height of the table. So I kinda felt like Alice in Wonderland sitting at the table. Also, when the small dining room is filled, it is quite noisy. But all in all, a good burger. I would return to try other menu items or just get the burger again!

I really want to give this place more stars but nothing really wow-ed me. To start we(me & my parents) had the Lemon & Herb Mussels and the New Orleans Style Oysters. Both were good, but I’ve definitely had better mussels and oysters elsewhere. For my entrée, I had the Parmesan Crusted Swordfish which was tasty, but not amazing. My mom had the Special of the Day: Sea Bass with Avocado & Black Bean/Pepper Jack Ravioli. The ravioli was the star of her dish… which is sad because it’s a seafood restaurant? My dad’s dish, the Pan Seared Hawaiian Sunfish was probably my favorite, but again, the best part was not the fish itself, but the mango salad that was on top of it. Dessert was straight up disappointing: Roasted Strawberry Crème Brulee tasted more like flan and was half cold and half warm, which makes me think it was frozen and then not thoroughly reheated. Décor and atmosphere are pretty and fitting for a nice seafood restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I may or may not come back to try their prix fixe menu. Then I may or may not update my review.
