Took the canoe trip from Mottville to Bristol Sun. Aug. 21, 2011. Our first time. Very enjoyable, quiet and pretty. Saw swans, blue herons.
Will tell friends about it to go with them
Took us 2 hrs. 45 mins Will slow down more next time and keep canoe out longer. Maybe take a picnic

Took this trip a couple of years ago & got on line to get their phone # to take trip again. Take trip infrequently only because of distance, The staff is friendly, the business well run and the river is wonderful.

During our stay in Bristol, we decided to try out kayaking on the St. Joseph river. The regular cost for the kayak package was $ 46 and technically, we could have had the kayak from 10:30am to 5pm. You can even bring a small cooler with a picnic lunch in it, too. I definitely recommend at least, bringing some bottles of water, too.
There was another group that opted to canoe instead. We drove across the border into Mottsville, Michigan to get dropped off to kayak 7.5 miles back down to Bristol, Indiana.
Overall, a very nice experience with a pretty straight forward path and gorgeous views along the way. Staff was friendly enough and helpful in getting the kayak in the river.
