We are dining at Cesare’s tonight with a friend who lives nearby. We have ordered two appetizers(shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon, and fried calamari) and a tomato pie with sausage. This place is obviously popular with locals — it is packed on a Tuesday night. It has a pleasant ambiance with comfortable booths, pleasant, clean, restful décor, and music playing softly in the background. They feature $ 5 steak sandwiches on Tuesdays. Some tables are ordering them. Others, like us, opting for something else. The calamari arrived first. I’m not sure why so many restaurants leave the calamari in the fryer too long, but it seems to be epidemic. The batter is crispy, but the calamari inside ends up like seafood jerky. Perhaps many customers like it that way. I prefer it lightly fried so that the calamari inside is still tender. This fried calamari was typical. Not bad, but served crispy and chewy. The marinara sauce that came with it for dipping was very good. The scallops and shrimp wrapped in bacon was more of a success — and the horseradish sauce that accompanied it was fine. We dipped the calamari in it as well. The tomato pie was good, but I have had other tomato pies that I have enjoyed more. Our server was prompt and attentive. Server — five stars. Food — three to three and a half stars. My husband and his friend seemed to enjoy everything and would probably rate Cesare’s with four stars, but since I’m writing the review…

We eat here a few times a month and we love it. The food and service are both excellent which is probably why they’ve been in business for so long. We love the atmosphere… one side of the restaurant is casual with comfortable booths, the other side is a dining room with lovely tables and a full bar. They play light background music; Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. That really compliments the atmosphere and the meal! We had a luncheon here recently with 50 guests. They coordinated it beautifully. They did a wonderful job placing the centerpieces and place cards I made for the tables. The servers were top notch as was the food. We had 2 appetizers, bread & butter, salad, pasta, a choice of 3 entrees and 2 cakes that we had made for the occasion. Everything was perfect. EVERYSINGLEGUEST commented on how awesome the food and service was. Everybody had a wonderful time! We are still getting texts from our friends saying what a great time they had and how much they enjoyed the food. Cesare’s allowed 2 of our guest, who are gluten free, to order off the menu and they even made them gluten free pasta. They also did a nice job plating the gluten free cookies I bought. We really appreciated that. I don’t know another place you could get such care and service!

Been here several times. Very good food all around with nice specials. Waiter could have been more attentive, but was acceptable. Décor was very nice. To some, I suppose it could be dated, but pleasing to the eye overall. Overall, quite pleased with last night’s visit and the other before.

The pizza is good… when you specify you want it «well done». You get great service… if they know who you are… if you don’t know the owner on a first name basis, i would go to nearby georgine’s. The food is mediocre and the wait staff is unorganized. The last time i went there, it was 15 minutes until they said hi… another 15 before i had water on my table… another 30 minutes until i had a salad on my table… walked out and went to georgine’s and had better italian food and fast service(in and out and fed in 30 minutes). I won’t go back unless i hear donny got the place on restaurant impossible.

Food and service were horrible. Hamburgers were cooked to a dry, near burnt level. I know that restaurants are required to pay attention to health warnings, but this was way out of line. We had veal parmegian as well, which was an overcooked, tough cutlet. I will say that some of the fried appetizers were good(calimari, mushrooms, and the assorted platter). That got the place 2 stars from me, instead of just 1. However that doesn’t compensate for the poor quality entrees. We arrived at 5pm on a Friday, for a simple meal. Yes Fridays are busy, but 5 pm is not exactly the peak of the dinner hour. There were maybe 2 – 3 other tables in the place. The service was slow. We’d have gotten the food much sooner if they hadn’t overcooked it! When I left, for a hockey game, the server chided me saying«Friday night is not a good night to be in a hurry.» Owners please: pay attention to what your cooks and wait staff are doing.

Friends have tried to get me down here(2hrs) for years. Best ceasar salad dressing I’ve ever had. I wanted a champagne they didn’t carry so the owner sent out for it. That’s customer service!

I love this place. It’s just a local, traditional family-style restaurant that we have been going to for years. Service is not rushed, you’re meant to relax with family. I have never had a bad experience here with food or service. Have loved both the casual dishes like pizza and cheesteak as well as the more formal dishes of pasta and seafood. If you are looking for a warm, local hangout — you will enjoy the experience.

I can’t believe the bad reviews here. I went here a couple weeks ago for a luncheon after a wedding, so maybe that was what made the difference. It was younger teenagers working but they seemed to get the job done. We got salads to start, they were about average. We got a plain type of pasta to go with out entrees which was good. I got the chicken marsala and it was great! I was very happy with the service and our meals.

The food is good, I do agree service is sometimes off but it really comes down to only 1 or 2 servers who may not be as experienced as the others. The rest of the staff is on top of it and does a great job of making you feel welcome. The food I have had has always been prepared well and has been tasty, especially if you get one of the specials. I will say I am not a fan of their cheesesteaks but oh well. We do come often and enjoy it overall.

Took a half an hour for 4 salads, personal pizza and french fries on a slow night. Got a roasted red pepper, sundried tomato, mozzarella and spinach salad. The sundried tomatoes were indelible. Canned-sauce on the pizza. Waste of time and money. Terrible & laughable.

This place was just awful. The food is mediocre at best. My wife ordered a chicken parm dinner but asked for alfredo sauce instead of red sauce. The waitress did not mention anything about it being an issue until all the food was being served. She took it back and it came out wrong a second time. The waitress then sent over the«manager» who just went back and had it made the proper way it was ordered. The service was terrible. They could not get a simple order right. Twice during the night we went 15 – 20 minutes with nothing to drink and could not find out server. Another member of the party had to walk up to the bar to get drinks. The owner showed no remorse at the end of the meal. He tried to claim that«you can’t change sauces because it is not on the menu». It was pretty sad to see a restaurant with only about 8 – 10 tables being occupied on a Saturday night. I will never be going back!

This place sucks. Food alone, I’d say 2 – 3 stars. It’s plain, cheap, generic Italian-American food. Although I will say some at my table really enjoyed the pizza and the house dressing was banging. All other dishes were meh. The service is beyond awful. After having another table’s cream sauce spilt on one if my friend’s coats and a forgotten about to-go salad, I was appalled at the resistance to help or rectify from the staff in general but mainly the owner. He refused to come over despite our complaints and kept sending a waitress to «negotiate» with us. About the coat, we first told simply sorry, then were told to bring a dry cleaning receipt(we’re out of towners so, no), then she came back with a $ 10. Laughable! When we finally got the honor of talking to the owner(after repeatedly complaining about the wait for our to go salad) he was completely rude, unapologetic, patronizing, and delusional. I’ll spare you the word for word but it was ridiculous. I live nowhere near here so won’t be back, but locals beware!

Fresh Olive Oil, Salt, and Ground Black pepper on your bread plate make a perfect dip for the fresh bread(Gr8 alternative to butter)…

This place is terrible. I mean, terrible. I know this is one of the fancy places in lower Bucks, but just. Don’t. The food is bland, over cooked, and somehow, everything has the same texture. Service is slow, which I don’t get because it can’t take that long to microwave a piece of chicken. Gordon Ramsey needs to visit this place. This isn’t Italian. :(

The most amazingly perfect contender for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible. Dated décor. Dated uniforms. Bland, garbage food. Terrible Service. This place was probably amazing in 1967, but as there long time clientele die off I can only wonder how much longer they have.

Took my 87 yo mother here tonight for dinner. We sat down and I glanced at my phone, the time was 6:01 and the place was not busy. At 6:10 nobody and I mean nobody acknowledged us at all. Several waiters and/or bus staff walked by and not even a hello. The end was when the usually useless maître de looked my way and I waved him over only to have him turn his back. So we got up and walked out and on the way out passed a server and commented that it would have been nice to have someone serve us but even that got no reaction.

I agree about the service. The service is the worst I have ever experienced. They stand around and talk never checking on their customers. Takes 3 days just for someone to come over and take your order. They don’t want to do their jobs! Well then, quit and find something else! There are too many unemployed people who would do anything for a job. We got up and left the second time we ate there! Got tired of waiting.

My family and I went to caesars for dinner last night for dinner. The food was great so I am giving them 3 stars. The service was beyond horrible. The waiter never ever refilled our drinks or asked if we needed anything. We had to summon him away from conversations with his fellow waiters to get a refill or more bread. I’ve been a waiter and the one thing waiters can control and shouldn’t let go is refilling drinks and making sure customers are okay. It’s unacceptable when they don’t. Every time I have been to this place either the food or the service is off. Overall this was not the case when the father used to be in charge now that his son runs this place customer service and consistency has gone way down hill. It’s a place that I want to love but is hard to when service is bad.

I wouldn’t even give this 1 star! Worst customer service experience ever! Not to mention it started because of poor quality food. I was brought out to this restaurant by my in-laws as part of a holiday gift. My father in law had worked so hard to plan this night, and I really wanted him to know my appreciation. I ordered the mixed seafood pasta dish. All of the seafood was terribly off, and I took about 5 bites of this dish total before feigning being full. I didn’t want to make a big deal because I didn’t want to put any damper on the meal. However, as our waitress asked if we wanted anything boxed, I finally had to say something even just so nobody ate my entirely left over meal, and also so my father in law did not pay for food that was not fit for human consumption. I spoke to a manager, he offered a free dessert despite seeing my untouched meal, and I asked to speak to the owner. He didn’t even have the decency to come over to our table. So my husband and I went to explain the situation to him. He didn’t listen to anything we had to say, basically called me a liar, and brushed us off with remarks about how long he had been in business. My husband asked if he was kidding, and the man completely blew up, told us we were banned from his establishment, and no amount of trying to reason with him worked. I have never felt so belittled and humiliated. Even my very even tempered mother in law tried to say she was upset by the experience, and the man practically shoved us out the door. Do not go to this restaurant if you want to be treated with any respect. Needless to say, we did not need to be banned to never frequent this restaurant again.
