All in all, if you’re in the area, this is the best Japanese /Hibachi Restauraunt for a few miles. I’ve been there frequently and have their frequent diner card(saves 15% off the pre-taxed check). First and foremost, I love spicy food, and if you request spicy, boy do they deliver. My favorite dish is the Mount Fuji. Imagine a tossed salad with chunks of salmon and tuna in a very spicy almost French style dressing atop a spicy tuna roll. When we ordered it the first time, the employees kept watching us to see if it was too spicy. It was delicious! I’ve thrown a hibachi party here where everyone raved about he quality and the flavor. I’ve had most of their rolls with the extra spicy volcano being one of our favorites. The wait staff is wonderful and attentive, and frequently clears dishes and refills drinks. my husband frequently orders their lunch specials which are a mountain of food for a tiny price.

We decided to order takeout from here for lunch today and got a dragon roll, spicy scallop roll, spicy yellowtail roll, salmon avocado roll, unaju lunch special, and chirashi lunch special, along with a salmon sushi and yellowtail sushi. My chirashi was comprised of 15 generously-sized slices of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and white tuna served over a big bed of mirin-seasoned rice. The fish was fresh although the rice today was more vinegar-y than I generally prefer. The white tuna was a nice, unexpected surprise, since most sushi places don’t include that in the chirashi. It was served with a salad, but I gave mine away since I’m not the biggest fan of the dressing and plain iceberg with a few carrot shreds and a ¼ quarter of a tomato slice. Overall, a very good value at only $ 12. I also tried the spicy scallop roll, which was okay but kinda lacked that desired creaminess in the sauce, and the dragon roll, which was good but nothing amazing; it was your everyday dragon roll. The unaju was pretty average(decent sauce but the eel was not very meaty) but I’m very picky about my unaju, especially since I use Ajihei’s as the benchmark. The portion is also on the small side although they do include 3 pieces of kani on the side. Still a great lunch value. Stick to the hwae du bap and chirashi here. Sakura and Shogun on Street Rd. have a lot more variety and better prices when it comes to rolls but the actual fish here is worth a visit if you work in the area.

yuck! They should have stayed closed. Or maybe we just had a bad day. Food way over priced and blaa. No taste at all. Should have turned and left after seeing the place empty at lunch time. Dead giveaway. If you think this food is good you have bad taste buds. Will never see me in this place again. And service was bad also. Try the new place on mill street in Bristol.

Have been here twice. The sushi’s good — the hibachi, which I ordered sitting from a table, was kind of boring. Say what you want about hibachi — it can be tasty if it’s seasoned right. I just made the mistake of going to 2 Japanese places, 2 nights in a row… and was on delicious sushi overload from the 1st! The servers are nice — but you’ve got to ask for water, and any refills if you want them. (At least, being able to BYO definitely helps this downside.) The most recent time I was in here it seemed we stumbled upon a large teenage birthday party of some kind. Nothing ruins ambiance like an obnoxious group of tweens. Guh. Even with the roaming pack of children — I will definitely be back — but I’ll stick to the sushi!

Really good sushi — in a strip mall in Bristol. Go figure. They have hibachi as well, but I feel like hibachi food is hibachi food no matter where you go; it’s more about the performance. Do it once and then keep coming back for the sushi! This is a mom-and-pop type restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. If you’re there for a special occasion, they’ll take a polaroid and add it to their wall. I have fond memories of many family meals here. Look for my picture on the wall; I’m the adorable one.

Best hibachi I’ve had. The chefs here do the theatrics, but the food steals the show. The filet, tuna steak, lobster are all top notch. For a really special treat order the Boolgogi. The sushi is extremely fresh and made with care. Chef Josh takes pride in his preparation. If you are really into sushi he even leads a ‘sushi club’ where he orders very special and rare dishes for a weekly sampling session. Dont let the value fool you, this is great sushi. Its a small operation, where the staff becomes friends with the growing local regulars. Definitely worth checking out.

The outside of the building kind of looks scary but once you go inside the décor is beautiful. As for the food… amazing! I’ve tried several of their sushi rolls and they were all delicious. They also have excellent shu mai with a tasty soy sauce dip. Definitely a great place to fulfill a sushi/hibachi craving :)

My hubby and I both love Japanese restaurants and especially hibachi. Seeing an add that Yun & Kim were back with their grand reopening and having a ten dollar off coupon in my hand, I said let’s check them out. This is a mom & pop’s type of place, it is no Benihana, then again I’ve found much better places than Benihana over the years. I’m having a hard time writing this review because it keeps shooting back and forth from the five star points about it to the one star lows. We had just left a kid’s birthday party at the Brunswick Zone XL and I had nibbled a bit, although hubby was able to sustain from the cardboard pizza and cold greasy fried foods, as he was dreaming of Japanese cuisine. In we walk to only one other couple sitting at an hibachi table, who had clearly already ordered and finished their soup. Waiting for their salad and with no others in the front of the house, including the help, they passed time by groping at each other, I mean seriously getting it on! Our showing up did not slow them down too much, but when the employees came out to greet and seat us, right next to them, they decided to behave a little bit. The décor: Not sure what to say here other than it was a real mixed bag, some of it was cool, like the sushi and sashimi bar and counter, the Japanese lanterns and the obvious clean sections of the table dining area apart from the hibachi grills. The rest was a bit old looking, over done and tacky. I’ll leave it at that. The food: I finally got hubby to try sushi and he loved it! He likes Shumai so I ordered these steamed and he ate his fair share. Then I had ordered a Philadelphia roll and while I am eating it, he asks is that eel? I said yep, he said is it smoked, fibbing through my teeth, I said yep. He plunged his into one of the sauces, asked questions about the wasabi and the Kimchee and ate most of it! Hello server, let’s get him hooked on sushi, he has no need to know for now that the«smoked eel is seaweed». To be safe I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and he went wild, yay finally! The dumplings were very good, artfully made and presented. The sushi was both fresh and eye appealing, very good indeed. Next time out I shall order several eel rolls for sure. The clear soup was a beef and seaweed broth with scallions and fresh mushroom slices, we both enjoyed it very much. The salad with ginger dressing was the worst I have ever had and two bites in I pushed it aside. The lettuce and veggies were fresh but the ginger dressing was so thick and loaded with ginger, it was almost like a paste. Hubby ate his because he was starving, but complained while doing so. We both ordered our entrees from the hibachi menu, hubby had a sirloin and shrimp, I had a filet and lobster tail(it’s a small rock lobster tail folks, but it was good and I finally had to say that’s enough cooking, I’ll have it now, it thankfully was tender), for twenty eight dollars for that combo you can’t go wrong. This came with our clear soup, salad, noodles, fried rice, sauteed vegetables and dessert. The noodles were okay, the fried rice was lacking everything from veggies, to more eggs please to seasonings. My filet was over cooked but tender, hubby emphasized he wanted his rare to rare and the chef did his last and it barely kissed the grill on both sides, hubby was happy as I mooed. Maybe because it was only two couples in the place, but this chef was not out to entertain us that’s for sure. Biggest let down I’ve ever had for viewing the tricks of their trade. It is a BYOB, which I did not know but there is a State store two buildings over, so I ran and got a bottle of chilled wine and shared it with the groping couple. We also handed them the other coupon of five dollars off and they were thrilled. I do need to mention our lovely server Sisca, she was darling, so friendly and on the ball. Our hibachi chef was Niko. As we were leaving the owner? chef who we had not seen came out of the kitchen to thank us for coming in and ran to open the door and thank us again for stopping in. From what I noticed they have an awesome lunch selection, very affordable and includes a lot of side items. Bottom line, I’m giving them three stars and I signed up for their VIP club which costs five bucks and entitles you to 15% off each of your next visits. Hubby says no more wine for me.
