Small, local bar with excellent food!!! I had The South Philly(bunless) it came with a side of chips. It was full of flavor. My husband had the Homemade Meatloaf that came with mashed potatoes and green beans. He said it was awesome, he highly recommends! As an appetizer we had the asparagus cappocola which was a special. It was delicious!!! The music was at a very nice level, you can hear it but also have a conversation without yelling!!! Rosemary and Ashley were excellent!!! We sat down and Rosemary made eye contact and came over quickly. She was very attentive and helpful with the menu and specials. Both girls shared waitressing so we never needed anything as they saw quickly when we did need a refill. I definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

My new favorite hangout. Local dive with excellent food and great service. Just don’t wear any non Philly sports wear. Small place with limited wait staff but very friendly. My kind of place.

The BEST French Onion Soup I have ever had. Rich and full of flavor with a crunchy bread and broiled Gruyère cheese topping.

Unsuspecting DELICIOUSVARIETYOFFOOD!!! This little corner tavern has some interesting menu selections. They also have a tiny stage for weekend entertainment. They can best Philly and New Hope when it comes to dinner. The drink selection isn’t too bad either. The don’t offer 100 taps, but what the do offer is a quaint range of beers. They also offer take out on 6’s. Unlike a neighboring bar, the beer is never skunky or old. I love this little spot and cannot wait to see the pending expansion. Hoping that this does not change the quality or the patrons of this gem. The only downfall is, they are a tiny pub, and parking is limited. But hey, I walk there, so what do I know.

This place is good. Local bar, I would consider this a little«divey». The food was good. The drinks were great. Very reasonably priced. The food is actually better quality than a dive bar. I liked it a lot.

If we lived in the 1920s, I’d risk my freedom to drink at the pines. This place is amazing. Ask for RoseMary and have her make you RoseMary’s Rum mixer; then buckle up.

I love this place! The food is delicious. Went last night and got a roast beef sandwich and my hubby got an Italian hoagie. My husband said the Italian hoagie was one of the best he ever had, very good quality meat and cheese. Its one of those hometown, cozy bars, very small, but extremely friendly workers and awesome food. Looking forward to going again soon.

Wow. We don’t live in this area, but came here drawn by the positive reviews. It lived up to the hype! Great food, fantastic vibe, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Had the meatloaf, wings, ribs. All great. Ridiculous number of wing sauces. Meatloaf gravy and mashed were great. Come if you are in the area.

One of my favorite places. Great service and food. They usually have two craft beers on tap on addition to the usual suspects. Good Friday and Saturday night hangout place,!

Excellent food and Service. The place looks like a hole in a wall but I convinced my wife to try it. The French Onion soup was delicious. The Garlic Hot wings were not crazy hot but awesome tasting. The fish and chips were like I was in Disney in England. My wife had the meatloaf and she said it was scrumptious. We will defiantly be back as it was excellent.

Just an awesome place to have a beer and catch up with friends. The beer selection is great and hands down they have the best french dip roast beef sandwich! It’s the small town charm of the place that makes it cool.

This is a great place for good food before going to the Riverside Theater. Besides its great quality, the food is very reasonably priced with generous portion size. I highly recommend this place.

Very good food in a casual setting. Started with the asparagus ala pines as an app. A lil salty for my taste but very good. Then the ribeye with blue cheese topping off the special menus list then the Tartuffe. Pure decadence. A small place with a def gastropub level of food(good quality) and they didn’t fail to deliver. Busy night but the food was just great!

Great, great food! Their soups are always amazing. I’ve also had and loved their burger, veggie grinder(my favorite), wings, French tip sandwich, buffalo chicken spring roll, cheese steak… I’ve had a lot and it’s all awesome! The bar has a nice neighborhood feel & the employees are all super nice. They don’t have a kids menu but my kids are treated wonderfully & would order chicken fingers whether it came from a kids menu or not.(We’re talking lunch and dinner of course. I wouldn’t bring them to a bar in the evening) Why not 5 stars? I’m a beer snob & their rotating craft draft is a hit or miss for me. They usually have an OK bottle selection but nothing extensive. Today they had Nugget Nectar on tap which is a hit for me. I have a happy belly right now and I can’t wait to go back!

You know, I wasn’t too impressed with the new boneless wings. The«chicken» reminded me more of McDonalds chicken nuggets than real meat(though much bigger). The spicy Thai peanut sauce was great… but the breading seemed saturated with it, not like crispy breading coated with sauce. Perhaps the sogginess was due to me ordering ahead of time… but if they’re boxing my 7 o’clock pickup at quarter of, that’s it’s own issue.

Had to kill 2 hrs waiting for my kid at Sky Zone trampoline park. Found the Pine Tavern on Unilocal and was very pleased with my choice. Nice neighborhood bar with good foot and not just bar food. Interesting menu and specials with great prices. Some nice bees as well to chose from. Server was very friendly too. Wish I had one of these in my town.

I’ve started coming here because the Dog and Bull has become way, way too popular lately and I can’t even get in. I need a place to go to kick back with good company and some beers! Luckily, the Pines is just right down the street and has a full menu, full bar and is full of decent people, too. A nice crowd. Late 20s, 30s+ is what you’ll find here. The food here is okay! It’s not all your standard bar food. They have spicy shrimp in thai peanut sauce over brown rice. It wasn’t bad. They have wings, meatloaf, flatbreads… a nice variety. I’m not really a huge fan of their beer selection, but that’s probably because I’m a craft beer snob and that’s my issue, not theirs. I recommend it here.
