A-1 Piano Tuning

We used A1 Piano Tuning for repair and tuning of a 100+ year old Sterling upright piano at my parents’ cabin in Long Lake, NY (Hamilton County). The tuner, Mark Hitrick, was extremely professional and friendly and did great work on our piano for a fair price. We’re well outside his normal area of operation, but he scheduled the work during a time when he was coming to the area to service another client.
The difference in the piano’s sound before and after this tuning was night and day. It’s actually fun to play the piano again. Mark also glued ivory key tops (which I supplied) onto keys that were missing their tops, so the piano looks a whole lot nicer now, too. His work was very neat and tidy.
Since that initial tuning, Mark has been back twice for fine tuning, improving both the sound and the action of the piano even further. I only wish he were closer to New York City so he could tune our home piano as well.
