What else can I say? It’s a small, hometown theater. I am so glad this theater still exists with larger chains like Cinemark, Regal, and AMC overshadowing. A bottle of water won’t cost you $ 6 and the popcorn was delicious and freshly popped. We saw The Revenant, which is 2 hours and 36 minutes long. I fully expected to be there more than 3 hours, but I was delightfully surprised at how short the commercials/trailers are before the show starts. I think it started in less than 15 minutes, which was very refreshing. My only criticism is that our movie was in the theater farthest in the back and it was FREEZING in there. Everyone had their coats on. Understanding it’s an older building, but to sit for as long as I did, I would have preferred not to have been bundled up.

This decrepit, miserable piece of excrement of a theater takes up space in downtown Brockport. This theater is somewhat close to the Chase Bank in town, which was the only reason I drove from Amherst, NY all the way to Brockport(that was the closest Chase branch to me). Service: This theater is trying to be «quaint» and«vintage» by using 50s style«tickets» but I’m sorry, this is 2014, this theater is just obsolete and out-of-place. There were three girls working behind the counter here, doing a job that could probably be done by 1 person. Seating: These are the hardest, most uncomfortable seats you will ever sit in in your life. These seats are probably from the 50s, just like everything else in this«quaint» pile of dog excrement. No «stadium seating» in this miserable, anachronistic«theater.» Screens: There are only 2 screens in this awful theater. Unbelievable, Brockport is a college town and there are 2 screens in this theater. To the management: It’s probably just a matter of time before AMC, Edwards, Regal or some other large national chain opens up and puts you out of business. I know you’ll try to fight this but just don’t, just go out of business because at the end of the day, that’s what’s best for the consumers of Brockport, NY.

It’s great to have a theater that plays current movies right in downtown Brockport. The Strand has recently upgraded to all digital projection, and the sound has also been redone and is great. Prices are also good — $ 7.50 for a current movie. They rotate through movies rather quickly(only showing 2 – 3 at a time) so there is always something new to see despite only having 2 screens. I like the vintage feel of the theater, but I wish that there was a bit more attention to detail inside. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been renovated in thirty years, and have rotting, water-stained ceiling tiles. The theater seats are also old(and small), and too far down for where the screens sit — you have to crane you neck to watch the movies if you aren’t in the back ¼ of the rows.

A cute, vintage theater with only a few screens. This is no giant McDonalds of movie theaters, like AMC, Cinemark, or Regal. However, if you’re looking for a smallish, low key place to see a movie, this is your place. Ticket prices are great– students can get a ticket for $ 5.50 with ID. Concessions are affordable. Get a drink for a couple of bucks. Candy for $ 1.50 to $ 3. Generally speaking, concession prices were about half of what the big chains would charge you. This is one place that you won’t need to sneak in with sodas in your pocket. Quaint and well-worth the stop.

Just walked out on the theater for the management yelling at a teenage girl who didn’t turn her phone off fast enough(she had to take it out if her pocket and hit the power button, like 80% of the audience). It was booting down and the previews weren’t even on. I agree with the policy and the girl was complying just like everyone else in the audience. There was no need to be rude. Never going back.
