Once a month, I drive down to Brockton to go to Westgate and to the WB Mason superstore, right down the street from here. Almost every time, I drive by this candy«wonderland» and have always been wanting to stop in. Today, I actually decided to make the turn and stop into this candy mega store along West Chestnut Street in South Brockton. First thing I noticed was a huge sign on the storefront, STORECLOSING! This place is closing(good thing I got in before they officially closed!!). Everything is currently 40% off. The friendly cashier working during my visit said the owner is retiring, and is why they are closing. Currently, there isn’t a whole lot left, but there is a good amount and I was able to find some great candy at great prices. It seems they carried a bunch of party supplies and cookware as well. One loss for the city of Brockton… too bad. I wish I was able to see the store when it was full! 5 stars.

I do shop here but less and less now. There are a large number of items in the store for Easter now and they come from China, yes chocolate easter goodies manufactured in China. There are many candy counters and manufacturers locally really you want me to save a nickel and get stuff from CHINA? NOWAY! Then when I look at many branded items in my local supermarket, there is a best by date printed on the package, yet a very similar package at this outlet has no printed coding on it at all? Hmm the manufaturer put one on the package so they must have been purposefully removed by someone at somepoint? Does that seem fair and honest? Or deceptive? The other reason the package only looks similar is it is probably last years and there were changes made in the packaging. There are many many items that have been repacked into plain bags pouches or plastic shell containers, nothing noted at all about the Maker, the ingredients, the best by? You want to ruin a holiday by giving some one stale, old, maybe something with an ingredient in it they can’t or shouldnt eat in it? They get sick and who do you call? Even some canned goods in this place, not a single marking on the can. When you are in the grocery store look at some of the same products and you see printed on the bottom, Best By; x but not in this store, Are you really saving much if you are buying last years stale old goods?

This is like a discount market that specializes in candy. It’s the first one I’ve seen. It’s pretty big. It’s bigger than the Nissen outlet in Wareham. It’s a little south of the Route 123 exit off of 24, on West Chestnut St. Looks like there’s a big Dunkin Donuts on this street also. Their motto is «have a sweet day».

I always thought this was Candy World n Mor’, but this is apparently the correct name. And it’s in Brockton, not West Bridgewater. But it’s on the border so who cares, right ;) I remember this being sort of a big deal when it opened. My mom and I always went there whenever she picked me up from school when it was a ½ day when I went to school in West Bridgewater(elementary school). Today I went there out of sheer boredom, and after visiting Billy Boy Candy in New Bedford I remembered this place. Nestled in an industrial park-laden area, this store is, really, quite a good place to stop at if you’re in the Easton/Brockton/West Bridgewater. It’s got a ton of candy, as well as international foods and such. Today I spent $ 10 and got a lot of stuff — Lindt Truffles(Halloween, but who cares), rock candy sticks, apple rings, Cadbury Crunchie bars(ahh honey!), two boxes of Jaffa Cakes(orange sponge cookie yumminess), Terry’s white chocolate orange, a package of plain udon noodles, some Robert’s Gourmet Smart Puffs, and a soda and some other snacks. Yeah, you will make out like a bandit in this place. $ 4.99 flats of Arizona teas, etc. If you don’t mind that some of the food is from past holiday seasons or probably had a «best used before» date of three months ago, then you’ll love this place.(The food tastes fine, you won’t get sick, etc. All this food has been stored properly so don’t worry.) Now I want my Jaffa cakes! Yum~
