I only gave one star because I can’t give zero stars. The food is old, dry, crusty and the place is dark and dank. My cousin found a piece of Brillo in her noodles. I personally didn’t wat because I was scared. Never go here. Go to the new Hibachi instead.

I’m lying in my bed as we speak, ready to throw up, because I believe this restaurant gave me food poisoning. I attended an event here on Saturday, and it’s Monday morning, plenty of time for an illness to incubate. My diet has been exactly the same all week except that day and I haven’t had a stomach bug in a year. I have to say, I should have known that the place was sketchy, it’s in a somewhat ghetto part of town. Not only that, dishes had bits of food stuck to them, grease and fingerprints. A table saw and construction equipment was just sitting around in the entrance interior also, gathering dust. When one thing is wrong, such as the dishes or lack of maintenance, you can guarantee there’s a lot of other stuff wrong too. Please do not go here. You can do better.

OK here’s the deal. I have had lunch here on and off for over 10 years. Sometimes it’s just because it’s convenient right off of Route 24 in other cases it’s with a client and we go because it’s affordable. That said, the food has always been good. I can’t really say that any one particular thing is a standout or a runaway must have but it is generally flavorful. One thing I always like is it’s a large restaurant so you’re able to get seated very easily and space has never been an issue for us. I’m giving it four stars and not five because today when I went most of the entrées were not hot. I’m certain things at a buffet need to be at a certain temperature and I can tell you that was definitely not the case there today. It was about 1 o’clock so I wasn’t super concerned about bacteria and the like. I have to assume they were all reasonably new entrées for the lunch rush. But again it was delicious I certainly went up three different times and I’ll probably go again before Thanksgiving. So in summary if you are looking for a decent meal for a fair price right off of Route 24 and they’re in a hurry this is a must stop ;)

What a place! Stopped in while in the area, what a mistake it was. The first thing jumped out at me was the number of patrons at this place and all the ripped upholstery. I sat down anyway when I passed the buffet stations, 3 full stations full of food. Woohoo! Some plates were a bit greasy so picking a clean plate was the first task. They do have a huge selection of dishes from clams to stone crabs, your regular chicken and pork dishes. Plenty of appetizers to choose from. The only problem was the freshness of these dishes. Only god knows how long they have been sitting out there. I went to the restroom to wash hands after meal. It was disgusting with broken toilets and the smell was unbearable. Pros: Plenty of dishes to choose from. Cons: Dine here at your own risk. You may not get Syphilis from here but a diarrhea is a possibility. Good luck!

A fairly large selection of food presented in a nice way. However, the place was filthy. The teacup given to me had dirt in it and when I asked for a replacement, the worker gave me a stare basically saying«What nerve you have for asking for a new cup». Waitress service was basically non-existent even granting that it was a buffet. The bathrooms were filthy and broken down and my wife told me that there was no soap in the ladies room. The entrance is through the back and is all broken down. A big mistake coming here.

Place is horrible. The board of health should be called in. Physical presention inside and outside of disgusting. I was there yesterday with my brother and sister in law and soda was gross it tasted like sewer water mixed in with Pepsi. The waitress spoke no English plus lied and said the soda machine was broken. I’m pregnant and stopped drinking the soda right away. Won’t go back ever. The whole restaraunt needs to be shut down definitely.

This place should be shit down. Where’s board of health? I came in yesterday and asked one of the waitresses why they are not serving liquor and the waitress responded me saying that the health inspection is one day late. Really? Then I start looking around the buffet I grabbed some seafood and the usual noodles, crabragon, boneless spare ribs, chicken fingers… Everything looked really good, when you start eating food is cold, tastes old, I could eat anymore I had to leave this place. My stomach was hurting I couldn’t hold it in my stomach I had to vomit. They are also rude, they have no costumer service satisfaction at all. I don’t recommend this buffet to anyone not even my enemies of I had any.

Went there during Christmas with my friend because this is the only place that was opened. After an hour or so, we both started feeling sick. We ended up both wtih food poison and fever as a result. We ended up spending our post-Christmas days in bed. I would not judge this restaurant’s appearance, but I would not go back there. I believe this restaurant’s food is not fresh and probably has problems handling utensils for raw and cooked food properly.

Does Brockton not have a Board of Health? This place should be shut down. It truly is a DUMP! Parking is in the rear and the rear entrance is about as unwelcoming as a rat hole to say the least. Looks like they closed or acquired another location and took all the«assets’ as there were glass panels and furniture strewn about and near the loose bricks on the steps leading to the entrance to the main dining room along side a bar and ‘employee table’(I guess staff is allowed to eat by the entrance in between serving staff) which is very unappealing. The selection of food is vast but looks like it has been sitting since the beginning of the meal period. There was probably about a dozen or so patrons in the dining room in different stages of their meal and there was steam escaping from the buffet tables so it seemed safe to be seated. After sitting at the table, I should’ve made an excuse to leave. Really. The booth was sticky from a previous spill that wasn’t properly cleaned which was evidenced by the smell and also the presence of large flies hovering around us while we ate. The wall sconce art was beyond gross with greasy cobwebs fluttering about from it over our heads. I didn’t complain about it because I wasn’t dining alone and I’m also not one to cause make a commotion or create a scene. I decided to have some wonton soup and my earlier suspicions were confirmed. This soup tasted as though it had been on the steam table evaporating into a salt lick from when it was first made. The rest of the food on the buffet seemed to be questionable. In all I made three trips to the buffet tables each time followed by a persistent fly and only took food from it twice. The last trip I just gave up when I saw an ice cream freezer with hoodsie cups in it. I’m ashamed and embarassed to have stayed as long we did but it was late and we were hungry and wanted a hot fast meal that would be better than typical fast food fare. Still this was no excuse to spend almost $ 40 which consisted of 2 buffets with hot tea and tip. Brockton Board of Health: Take Notice! If you’re brave enough to venture out to this place, hopefully these reviews will serve as a fair warning to avoid it and merely use their lot to turn around.

Went here with my husband for the lunch buffet. The food was pretty good. Until 30 minutes later when we both got sick. Won’t ever go back! I felt like crap for a good 24 hours after eating here.

Typical buffet food. If you don’t catch the food when it first comes out, You’ll be eating a cold meal. The place is nasty. The kitchen is worse. Expect to sit at a dirty sticky table with food on the floor underneath your feet. They do have a cockroach and ant problem. They host metal shows here. If you’re unfortunate to go while they are having one, good luck to you. You won’t be getting much food and the place will be swarming with drunk teenagers who don’t have any consideration for other customers.

I make Number One/City Buffet a regular lunch stop off Rt. 24 when I’m driving from New Bedford to Boston. Easy access on Rt. 123. The food covers a range from crab Rangoon and General Tsau’s chicken to real Chinese like braised baby octopus. Soups are excellent, especially the make your own wonton soup. App’s like fried dumplings are good. There are usually 10 – 20 main dishes, so easy to find something you like. There are also a couple of salads, good fruit and a bunch of cake desserts. As others have said, the place is a bit run down, but at $ 8 for lunch including tax, its a deal!

Food is disgusting. I went with my family, which were mostly kids. The food was way over priced. the kids were charged as adults. Service was also very poor and the place was filthy. Bathroom was disgusting, I don’t want to imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Visited there last night on 7÷7÷11 after 9pm with my spouse, and as we were pulling up in the drive way not one, but a «school of Rats were» running across the driveway as we entered the parking lot. They had the buidling surronded. I was so scared to get out of my car, i asked my husband to immediately drive away. If you visit there after 9pm beware of the Rats. They have the movie Willard going on outside of the building after dark! I can only imagine how many are inside.

We last ate there about a year ago. The selection was excellent, but the place looked dirty and unkempt, and the carpets no doubt caught every crumb and drip since the joint opened. I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like. But the selection was excellent.

Came here with family. a whole lot of family to be exact. This place accompanied us, there was probably at least 80 of us, ranging from babies to elders. We sat in a room that was sort of separate from the main section where most patrons dined. I admit it was kind of cramped but due to our large volume we were all able to sit and pretty thin enough to slither between the seats. hats off to being Asian! The food here is actually pretty decent Chinese food. You find your usual fare like crab rangoons, egg rolls, spring rolls, general tsa’s chicken, beef and brocolli, fried rice, chow mein, chicken wings and so on. This isnt the American chinese food. its pretty close to real considering its a buffet. they also have a raw bar which im not sure is the most appetizing but looked sort of fresh, at least the shrimp did but im sure its just the frozen variety. they also serve sushi which is the very basic california roll or avacado roll. the soups here are awesome, thay have egg drop, hot and sour, seafood, the hot and sour-wow that babys got some bite. its sour, its spciy and it was delicious. the desserts are awesome. you have the orange slices, cantolope, and jello. can i tell you how awesome this jello is! its like the perfect consistency. they also have individual hersheys ice cream cups, altho I wish there were soft serve. they also have a variety of pastries that are really good, from lady fingers to pieces of cake. the service here is quick. they will take away your plates within minutes of you setting it aside. overall, this place is cheap, and good chinese food if you are in the area. theres also a bar!
