C Roy & Sons Meat Packers

We order beef and pork farm-​direct from two farms that are located NW of Port Huron. Our processing is done at C-Roy’s.
C-​Roy & Sons is a multi-​generational, family-​owned business. Nancy is the matriarch of the bunch and runs a great show with her daughter taking over the reigns. All of the staff at C-​Roy are professional and courteous.
They take the proper amount of time with their customers and to make sure that you get what you want. I ran them through the ringer a few years ago when I was new to whole-​beast purchasing but they were patient and answered every question. They cut and wrap to your specifications. Whether you want 3″ thick Porterhouse steaks cut or have them save you the offal, you get nothing short of top notch customer service. They paper wrap and label but I wish they would vacuum pack instead though.
They have a meat counter there if you would like to purchase additional items. I can’t help myself to purchasing a dozen one-​pound bags of their spicy, chemical free, preservative free breakfast sausage. It’s just pork and spices and it’s damn good. I also like their house made jerky. Look to their shelves for a great variety of local Michigan products too. We bought a gallon of RAW honey and saved $ 8.00 from it would have cost us at our usual Detroit store. I forgot to mention, they have their world famous Yale Bologna available as well. It’s a dense, all-​beef ring bologna that can be prepared about 100 different ways. I like mine marinated and grilled or pan fried with onions. And when I say dense, I mean it. It’s super meaty and without fillers.
Yale Bologna is celebrated locally in Yale with the annual Yale Bologna Festival. Nancy invited and we returned the following weekend to perhaps the greatest small-​town festival that we have ever been part off. All of the vendors were local organizations: Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Churches, High School Seniors, etc. All of the money spent here stays local. You won’t find $ 5.00 Cokes but you will get a great ice-​cream social at the Methodist Church and all the Yale Bologna you can handle and without breaking the bank!
