Crazy Horse Campground

We stayed here for Labor Day Weekend with friends for the first time. The cottages were nice enough, but did not have what I thought they did. I called ahead of time to ensure my child with special needs would have access to a full bathtub for medical reasons and that we would have a TV since the list of items included with the different units online was extremely confusing and hard to navigate. I was told that the cottage (which is the most expensive of all the lodging at nearly $ 600 for the weekend) would have both of these items along with others. Neither a full tub or TV was in the cottage (the TV was in the lower priced cabin. That doesn’t make sense to me but whatever). I went to the front office to ask about this and a rude blonde lady said there was no TV in that unit and there were no bathtubs in ANY of the units. If I would have known this, I would have never even booked them! And when I say the lady was rude, she was rude. Even the person waiting behind myself and my friend was surprised at her reaction. The lady acted as if she could not even be bothered with my inquiry and actually WALKED AWAY in the middle of our conversation without even saying excuse me to help someone else).
Anyways, the campground itself is small enough you can walk the whole thing in minutes. It is very cramped with no privacy and as my friend said, it feels more like a trailer park than a campground. The «petting» zoo is set up so you can’t even go inside with the animals; you can only pet them from 2 fences separating you and some goats and a donkey. Bad smells from either the animals or septic tanks were frequent, and the store was dusty and dirty. A friend and I also got sick off of just drinking part of one of their drinks, so I question the cleanliness of the food area as well.
I will say that we enjoyed canoeing down the lazy river and maintenance was very kind (our AC wasn’t working well and they accommodated us nicely for our daughter with regard to that). Jane the manager is also very nice. However, the price you pay is not in line with what you receive and there were more cons than pros overall. We will not be returning.

We were river rafting and happened to get off at their port. We had never been before and didn’t think it was a big deal. WRONG. Immediately after getting out of the water, an employee (and I use that term loosely) asked if we were camping there. We politely replied «no» and told them we were sorry and were leaving. He promptly halted our efforts and said, «If you come back here again without paying, the owner will call the police and they will issue a $ 263 ticket for trespassing». We thought that was way over the top, but we were leaving anyway. As soon as we got off the property headed toward our launch site, an officer stopped us and asked if we were the ones ‘making trouble’ at camp crazy horse. After about an hour of being detained, we were still issued citations. EVEN THOUGH WE DID WHAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO! Long story short, they told us to leave, we left, and we still got $ 263 trespassing citations.
I have not and never will stay at this campground and I strongly urge everyone else not to either.

Very nice setting. Camping fee includes all activities including tubing, kayaks, and canoes, mini golf. Lots if activities for the kids including petting zoo, skateboard park, pool, organized activities. Campsites are large. Friendly staff. Cabins are nice and entire facility is in good shape and very clean. We’ve camped here three or four times and each time was great.

We love this place! The staff is very friendly and we enjoy the tubing, kayaking and all the other activities. We go at least 2/​yr. We typically stay in the full hook-​up row. At one time we stayed in the back area in the dead-​end row with deluxe cabins across from the camp sites and that was really nice (some members of the family had rented a cabin).

This place is literally my version of hell.
I get one vacation a year. ONE. This year, the boyfriend and I decided to go camping. Enter: Groupon for Crazy Horse.
I was stoked, never been camping before. I love to get away from the city.
Little did I know, this place is LOUDER than the city. We were basically on top of the people next to us, luckily they were nice. That wasn’t the issue.
A few families had the campsites across the path from us. A few loud, drunken familes with annoying kids SCREAMING and running and scootering around. They brought a PROJECTOR out and were watching a gdamn movie on full blast. It was like being at a damn drive in. I wouldn’t be upset and giving this place a bad review if I hadn’t called TWICE to complain. I gave them our lot number and everything. No one ever came!!!
We reserved two nights. We left at 8am after the first night. We were there for 12 hours. DO NOT GO HERE
