So I’ll start off by clarifying that this is a review of Shady Oaks that’s right across from the turn off for Beavers Bend. The map here on Unilocal shows this place downtown Broken Bow. The cheeseburger was good. Your typical small town, cooked to order food that’s really good but the building itself is kinda rundown. Like the other reviews, the onion rings are a must. Just wish I got more for the extra $ 3 spent. The pecan pie was good as well. Cheeseburger, onion rings and pie cost me a lil over $ 10 with water to drink.

We went in at 12:30 and it was very crowded. Maybe more crowded than they were used to. It didn’t matter, the waitress seated us right away in the back. She took our order before larger parties that were already there.
We both had cheeseburgers and they were some of the best burgers I’ve had. (I’m something of a master burger finder.) No preformed frozen patties here. Try we’re nice and greasy and juicy where the grease came through the bottom bun.
The only complaint is the buns weren’t homemade but I’m picky about that. I’ll let it slide since the waitress went out of her way to attend to us.
If you’re between Broken Bow and Ft. Smith, make a point to go here.

I stopped in for breakfast before heading back to Fort Worth after spending a week at Beavers Bend Resort Park. I had passed the restaurant several times on my way to the park. After my breakfast visit, next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely be stopping in.
This morning I had one of the best cheese omelets I’ve every had, it was light and fluffy and full of creamy American cheese. It was totally awesome. I can’t wait for my next rip to Beavers Bend so I can try the dinner menu.

Great food and laid back. Very close to the entrance of Broken Bow State Park. Our waitress was very nice and the service was great. The owner even thanked us for coming in. Another reviewer wrote they «didn’t having anything bad to say.» Well were you hoping to write a spoiler?!

We really don’t have anything negative to say. The food was great, the service was great, everything was great. This is an excellent restaurant for a homestyle meal in homestyle settings at a cheap price. We had the BBQ sandwich special with butter pecan cake and a bacon cheeseburger basket — both were fantastic! Absolutely no complaints.
