Cool spot in Little Italy. You walk in and immediately to your right is a small bar and a cute older Italian man behind the counter. Looks like a cool spot for regulars and locals. Service was excellent and cold was delicious! I got the linguine with white clam sauce– fresh, fragrant and delicious with whole clams in the shell and roasted chunks of garlic!

Setting itself apart from many of the other mainstays here in Little Italy, the décor is updated and cozy(unlike the common 80’s mauve n mirror motif of many of the other joints). Plus, if you play your cards right, you may have the pleasure of dining or drinking there while the infamous bartender, Joseph, is working! Joseph is quite the character, and has been known to sing a tune or two! As for the food, it is great, traditional, Italian home cookin! The chicken roll(suggested by Joseph over the hero) is decadent, and by far the best I’ve ever had! It is huge, and if you take ½ to go, don’t forget to ask for marinara for dipping! Generous with both bread and wine! A must in BX Little Italy!!!

Rock solid Italian spot. I’ve been here a few times and it fires on all of the NY Italian restaurant cylinders: bread, wine, pasta, and dessert. My go-to is the rigatoni nona, which has a sauce made up of plum tomatoes, eggplant, and most importantly, smoked fresh mozzarella. I love to make pasta at home, so whenever I get pasta at a restaurant, I instinctively compare it to my own and all too often I’m disappointed. However, the sauce on the rigatoni nona easily triumphed over any of my creations. For dessert I got the Italian cheesecake. Even though I was there near closing time, it still tasted fresh and the ricotta was as fluffy as ever. This place has clearly been here for a long time and with the quality of their food, I expect them to be there for a while longer.

Free glass of wine with check in! Had to start with that. And even though it says you get a red, they will happily get you a white. You won’t go wrong with the authentic italian restaurant among among in the aurthur ave sector. And you may find, easier availability here without sacrificing quality of food or service. Shared 3 mains for dinner and all were solid. Dinner starts with complimentary? italian bread. Nothing special, not warm, but fresh. The key is to maximize the bread’s potential by dipping in ALLTHESAUCES. Chicken parm pasta: the chicken was surprisingly good. Well seasoned and thin cutlet. Linguini in clam sauce: that sauce. Best sauce of the night but the best part was soaking it up with the complimentary bread. Short ribs: best of the three dishes. Tender, savory, perfection. OVERALL: a must try on arthur ave.

Excellent! From the moment we walked in the door, the customer service was stellar. It was our first time to Belmont and I’m glad we chose Antonio’s for dinner. We had the caesar salad to start, then I had the gnocchi caprese. amazing. The pasta was freshly made! Tomato sauce was tasty and the bread on the side was also delicious. The cannoli dessert was perfect! Would definitely go here again. I wish I had known about the free wine with check-in! The only thing is the service is a bit slower than manhattan, but it didn’t matter. The place had a few locals, it was very charming. :)

This place deserves the almost 5 star rating. I highly recommend visiting Little Italy in the Bronx to find places like this! I’m so glad I chose Antonios Trattoria from the many choices in the neighborhood. My fiancé and I both ordered the«Frutti Di Mare» $ 25. The portions were huge! I had a full serving leftover for lunch the next day. The red sauce was flavorful and pasta was cooked perfectly. Tons of seafood too! We visited a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy. Fortunately, we only waited about 20 minutes for a table. They have an extensive wine list. We enjoyed our bottle of Tempranillo $ 33. Highly recommend making the trip here. Excellent service, food and environment.

I have been visiting this establishment, lately, a few times, I must say, can’t get enough of it! The food is so good. Has a wonderful atmosphere! They make you feel at home, as saying soon as you enter! The cold seafood appetizer, fried calamari, baked clams, burrata all very good! The home made pizza is to die for! Had margarita! The home made Gnocchi is delic! The Chicken scarpariello, also a very good choice! Can’t go wrong!

We decided to end our tour of the Bronx’s version of Little Italy at Antonios Trattoria for a traditional italian meal, and we absolutely loved our experience here. A diner’s experience at this family-owned establishment is nothing short of delicious and traditional. The bartenders and waiters are very friendly and know their business well. As for the food, we started out with the fried calamari, which was perfectly crispy, accompanied by some complimentary freshly baked bread with olive oil. As for the entrees, I had the pasta carbonara, which was super rich and could easily feed two people. My boyfriend enjoyed his veal marsala dish as well. Stuffed, happy, and feeling like we got a taste of the italian culture in this often overlooked, underrated borough. Dont miss the opportunity to dine here if you’re in the area!

A star each for ambience, décor and service. Food? I’m sorry to say but Olive Garden could give them a run for their money. I feel like the attempt to produce a particularly tasty meal was felt but the final taste was below average. Now, there was a pretty lady giving away complimentary shots to every guest, I’m now wondering if this is used to decrease ones palate and disguise ones true sense of taste.

We took arancini, lasagna and orechiette with brocolis and garlic. Before the dishes, they served us few slices of bread and butter, the bread was crunchy on the outside and gooey In the inside ! Arancini was very delightfull ! The tomato sauve was a little bit salty for me but it tasted very good, Lasagna tasted good too ! Orechiette was nt fresh but i knew it before i ordered :) pasta orechiette was cooked al dente, so it was Nice. I love garlic so i was satisfied but i miss something punchy In that dish. And the tiramisu, very good A little bit expensive but good

First time eating here. My husband had short ribs, my mom had the stagione salad with grilled shrimp, and I had the fettuccine carbonara with grilled shrimp. Everything was great. I just wished they had salted the shrimp a bit. But it was jumbo sized and fresh. The bread was awesome! We had two baskets!!!

I’ve come here twice and had great dinner experiences. Definitely get a reservation, though, because this spot is super popular. I think the gnocchi is my favorite here. The cheese one is a little too cheesy for me, but the sausage with tomatoes has a nice balance and texture. My most recent visit, I got the cavatelli and short rib special($ 22), which included an ample share of tender meat and fresh pasta. Even their salads are on point and a great way to start a meal. The House, Mediterranean, and Gorgonzola salads are all very good. The people who work here are kind and lively. It’s a great spot to laugh and take in the positivity. Oh, and they do a great birthday song, as well!

Traditional Italian restaurant with large portion sizes! The restaurant is truly a gem in the surrounding area and neighborhood. It took us a while to find this place via the subway and bus. It was refreshing to arrive inside and be greeted right away, despite the hustle and bustle that went on inside(extremely busy and very crowded). We miraculously were seated within 5 minutes and checked-in for our complimentary wine(when you order an entrée). The restaurant was loud, but I have no complaints, because the food and drinks were very good. There were plenty of family birthdays and celebrations going on around us. Everyone looked happy and very satisfied with the food. I loved the pasta and seafood dishes we ordered, along with the lemon sorbet and cappuccino! The portion sizes were large(especially for the pastas), so I brought mine home and the leftovers were just as delicious! We hope to come back again when we are in the area(maybe to visit the Bronx Zoo again when it’s warmer and more animals are outside).

My fiancé and I were in the neighborhood visiting friends. We chose this based on other Unilocalers. The Gnocchi is highly recommended. It melts in your mouth. Soft, light, not chewy and thick. Super fresh that you could see the imprints from the needing. Moreover, the service was stellar!

Came here with my visiting aunt and cousin from Canada around Christmas time. I’ve tried most of the restaurants along Arthur Ave and wanted to find something new. After seeing so many positive reviews about this place, we decided to try it out. Place was very busy, full house when we arrived with no reservations. Was told about half hour wait, so we sat at the bar for a drink. Bartender was very friendly and funny. My only upset was they didn’t have any IPA’s. ;( Finally, we were seated and served. We ordered the rib eye, Frutti di mare and the cheese ravioli. The food was all very good but definitely feel it could of been better. The steak was enjoyable Because it tasted exactly like my moms lol. But my cheese ravioli was … Maybe something I wouldn’t get again. The ravioli was exceptionally great, however, the sauce had no flavor. It said tomato and basil which I get is very simple but I didn’t get any type of basil taste from it and tasted like a sauce I’d heat up at home on my stovetop — probably traditional ragu like. Also, felt the presentation on the ravioli plate itself could of been better. Again, looked like something I would put together at home. I want to believe it was mainly because it was very busy that night we came. Will most likely be returning to try other dishes in near future.

This restaurant really holds true to its reviews. I have not one bad thing to say about this place. Forgive me for not having pictures, the food was too good and I completely devoured it before realizing I didn’t snap a photo. I went there today, which is easter and got seated right away. I love the ambiance of the restaurant it is really inviting and old school Italian. I felt like I was going to walk over to my grandpa making sauce for Sunday dinner. The amount of bread they give you is ridiculous, it is basically a whole meal in itself. I ordered the Carbonara and Chicken Parmesan which comes with a side of spaghetti, ziti, or string beans. I picked ziti. This was to be shared with my boyfriend, we both enjoy variety so picking two and sharing is a normal night out for us. I picked up a piece of bread, buttered it and before I could take a bite of it my food was being placed on the table. They are seriously that fast, I was shocked. Upon first bite of the side of ziti I was in love. I am always trying to find the perfect tomato sauce and this is it. They should sell it by the jar. Next up was the Chicken Parmesan, I almost ate the whole piece before remembering I had to share it. The breading is different from your everyday parm, but it was so delicious, the perfect layer of breading along with the sauce and mozzarella. My boyfriend had first pick of the Carbonara and he fell just as hard as I did. So creamy and a light smokey flavor from the prosciutto, I couldn’t believe this was my first time eating here. I was immediately planning my next date night. Before we knew it almost all the food at the table was gone except a little bit of the pasta because there was too much to eat all of it. This is one of the best Italian places I have been to. I say skip going to Pasty’s in the city and plan a meal here. I walked in at 7:00pm and walked out by 7:40pm. I felt a little embarrassed because it showed just how fast I stuffed my face, but it was completely worth it.

I came to Antonio’s for a family dinner and it was a decent Italian restaurant. We came on a Saturday night without reservations and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The restaurant had a warm, familial ambience and the service was great. The tables were on the small side and we felt a little cramped sitting down. Overall the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and decent food, but it wasn’t anything overwhelming. Food that was ordered and passed around the table: –Fried Calamari was soft and tender. I liked that it wasn’t crunchy as it was fried –Veal Meatballs were soft, flavorful, and melted in my mouth –Eggplant Focaccia had a nice thick and slightly crispy crust. The eggplant didn’t have much flavor –Primavera Pizza with broccoli, cheese, olives, mushrooms and onions was also a bit bland although the crust was crispy and cooked well –Lasagna Pizza was by far the best and really flavorful.

I’ve eaten pretty good Italian food in my lifetime, and this restaurant comes out on top for their authenticity and hospitality. The ingredients they use are of quality, earning their 4 star rating for many customers again and again. For dinner, we had: Calamari, A Mussels di Marinara, A+ Linguine w White Clam Sauce, A+ Gnocchi Basciola, B+ Everything was delicious(and coma-inducing). We will definitely be returning to Arthur Avenue in the future!

Pretty decent place for Italian food. I don’t think we had much of a wait, but this place gets crowded. Our waiter took forever to take our order. Staff didn’t seem very friendly or caring. I don’t know maybe someone had a bad Christmas or didn’t wanna be at work. Probably will try other eateries on Arthur before coming back to this one. if ever.

They did my tummy great! Small caveat, even with many servers working, the service here can be pretty slow. However, I won’t let that detract from all the wonderful things I have to report about this place: the warm greeting EVERY patron can expect to receive at the door, and definitely some beautifully prepared, savory and amazing dishes. This place has a wonderful family feel to it, and my greeting upon entry was actually, «Hey kids, welcome home». I like that. My gay husband and I went on a bit of an Italian bender Sunday night and had our very own San Gennaro Feast! Couldn’t decide between Antonio’s and a few other places, so we decided the best option was to put our tummies to the test. This place is located in the Belmont section of the Bronx, and has a decently large dining area with lots of exposed brick. There’s a full bar and a check-in offer for a free glass of wine Monday-Friday. 1. Veal Meatballs – OK, don’t hate on me. I gave up veal when I was 9 for moral reasons and didn’t touch it again until I was 24. I choose my times wisely, and sparingly(about 1 – 2 times each year). Anywho, I only had a few small bites of these unbelievably juicy, tender, meatballs basking in marinara, and I my eyes rolled back in my head a little bit. The only thing missing was… well, it wasn’t my appetizer, so I had to exercise self-control. They melt in your mouth and the ricotta adds a nice creamy element. 2. Salad – Mixed greens, mandarin oranges, gorgonzola cheese and pecans with LIGHT balsamic vinaigrette. Delicious, but actually the portions here are quite large. Had I known that this appetizer salad was so massive(like the meatballs before them) I might have skipped it, but where’s the fun in that? 3. Halibut – Also not mine. Served with polenta, asparagus and a mustard sauce. The incredible crisp outer later on this feesh was divine and the mustard sauce went really well with the polenta, but I wish there had been like a tablespoon or two more for the last bites of the dish. 4. Shrimp Francese– Francese being one of my favorite preparations, I jumped at the opportunity to clean my saucy plate with bread and potatoes. Shrimp were 6 and jumbo, the sauce was amazing, the flour and egg batter were expertly done. It pained me to give my friend a whole one, but I did… served with sauteed spinach and your choice of pasta marinara or veggie of the day. I wanted no marinara(see: potato croquettes below) and opted for the veggie, which was garlic string beans. They were pretty not bad, but left me longing for the ones at Trattoria Tra Di Noi down the street. 5. Potato Croquettes – Ordered this extra side for $ 6 because I didn’t want marinara flavors marrying the Francese of my main course. I know my Italian sauces and this Francese made me want to smack my mama(I normally want to do that, anyway). Fried/mashed perfection! Never greasy, paired very well with the shrimp dish I ordered. We really wanted to order dessert here, but our waiter took so long to take our appetizer orders, and then even longer to take our main courses… don’t get me started on the 30-minute wait to pay our bill. But perhaps we can chalk this up to them serving fairly large portions and maybe thinking I need more time to show my gluttonous colors than I really need. All of the time taken between courses and the bill, we didn’t dare ask for dessert here, although I’m sure we would have been equally thrilled with the quality. I can’t wait to try more of their menu, especially dessert! Highly recommend. Thanks, Antonios.
