Great atmosphere, good service and awesome food! Wish we had more places like this in The Bronx.

Came here for brunch. The service was amazing. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. We didn’t wait long for the food at all. I had poached eggs over hash with asparagus and butternut squash and my friend had the famous shrimp and avocado omelette. The food was delicious!!! Best brunch I had in awhile. I finally found a good place in the Bronx that has both good service and good food that doesn’t cost a fortune and that I didn’t have to wait an hour to eat. I definitely will be going back and I recommend this place to everyone!

We’ve had brunch twice and dinner twice here. The food is beyond delicious. Everyone in our parties has loved their meals. For me, the stand-out is the way Chef Alex prepares fish. It couldn’t simpler or better.

Like most of the other reviewers stated, this place did not disappoint. Small location, but the atmosphere is cozy. The food was delicious! The chicken and waffles is a must, and the Huevos rancheros has a nice piece of hanger steak. They don’t have alcohol, but they do have a nice selection of wine and beer. Glad to see places like this in the Bronx. There is no doubt that I’ll be back.

Awesome food! We sampled every appetizer except for the deviled eggs and everyone of them were amazing! I had the pork chop dinner but sampled the waffles and chicken dish and the Burger. Would recommend both! Will definitely make the trip here again!

We’ve come for brunch and dinner– never had a bad meal. Chef owned and great staff. Wonderful tasting food with a creative flair. Try Brussels sprout fried rice — so delicious.

Came here after I saw the great reviews and it what something different from the rest of the places around. Good beer selection and the food that we had was hot and yummy. We had the Mexican corn, wings and the deviled eggs.

Cute spot for affordable brunch. My husband had the chicken and waffles and I had the veggie wrap with a side of fries. The food is carefully prepared and plated, and the service was attentive.

I had my anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago, and it exceeded our already high expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was very attentive. The ingredients tasted fresh, and there were combinations that complimented each other so well that my fiancée and I are now hell bent on trying everything on the menu. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the relaxed vibe and memorable food in this incredible little place.

Fantastic Sunday brunch destination. Ambience is spot on, with a wonderful bottled beer selection(taps as well). Definitely recommend the Chicken and Waffles and Macaroni Gratin. Service was kind of on the slower side and utensils were not on the table when our food arrived, which isn’t ideal when one wants to enjoy food while it is still hot. Good tunes were being played in the background, and the chill vibe definitely lends itself to being a regular brunch spot for us. Place is 5 star worthy, but the slow service brings it down to a 4 star.

So glad Archie’s opened on City Island! I’ve come here to eat 4 times in the last month and each time the food was fantastic. Archie’s provides a varied menu that is a nice change of pace from the usual fare on CI. Try the Mac ‘n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, or Archie’s burger from the regular menu, or, as I usually do, one of the fish specials. Today, I ordered the grilled striped bass with collard greens and quinoa, with a spicy kick. Superb!

We dined at here with a friend from the island who raved about this place. Everything was delicious, shisito peppers, wings, mussels, pork pâté, watermelon bean salad, burgers, and halibut. All our food was beautifully and simply presented. Our server and bartender were great too. We will be back and continue to tell friends about this new favorite spot!

Came here for brunch… got the corn beef hash and my bf got the chicken and waffles. My meal came in a small bowl. I thought it was ok, I’m used to having my corn hash grounded up and these were chopped in chunks. I think it is a bit overpriced for the quality though. The chicken and waffles were good though. Chicken wasn’t too dry and waffle was tasty. This place is just ok to me… I’ve had better brunch elsewhere.

So, this spot used to be Sugar & Spice but they’ve revamped the décor and added a bar; they still have the great food I’ve always enjoyed. Tonight we tried the Saffron Shrimp, Mac & Cheese Side, Charred Corn Salad, Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles and the Peaky Toe Crab Mac & Cheese; everything was great. We ended the meal with the Warm Bread Pudding(the pic erased from my phone) and it was slamming! I’ve always liked this spot and even when they didn’t offer alcohol we were able to BYOB and they provided the mixers but now they have artisinal brew on tap as well as wine. My girlfriend ordered me a Reisling that was pleasantly dry and crisp. I loved it. The former Bronx borough president was dining a few tables away and his party was loving the eats as well. This is a true neighborhood gem and although there are many long standing businesses on the island, Archie’s is a breath of fresh air that offers a taste that is different from the rest in the heart of the Bronx.

What a fantastic surprise. Went to Archie’s last night with my wife just to «check out the new place» in the neighborhood. The local buzz has been really good but Archie’s exceeded my highest expectations. The menu was very interesting and choosing a entrée was a bit challenging as I wanted to try almost everything. Everything is made fresh with local and organic ingredients I eventually decided on one of the nights specials: Porgy stuffed with shrimp and wild rice. It was SO fresh and absolutely delicious. My wife opted for a simple burger with gruyère cheese and it was terrific too. The waiter Mike was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and how it was prepared. He was very helpful in the selection process and a delight to talk to. We both enjoyed homemade deserts as well; bread pudding and homemade vanilla ice bream with vanilla bean soaked rhubarb and Black berries. They were both«off the charts» delicious. I highly recommend Archie’s Tap and Table. This is a very welcome addition to City Island and the growing number of other fine restaurants in The Bronx. 5 Stars Across the Board.

Everything is delicious and just as wonderful as when they were Sugar & Spice. The Fried Chicken and Waffle is still the best we’ve ever had. Dinner options are also great– juicy burger and flavorful wings! Highly recommended.

Truly awesome — the Bronx needs more places like this, I’m glad I found it. The dining room is small, but it’s very open so you never feel cramped. It kind of looks like a converted garage — concrete floors and walls and a garage-door style window. It was a nice day out so the door was up and tables were set out front. The décor has an industrial feel to it — silver chairs, subdued yellow booths, grey doors. There’s a television over the bar which keeps the atmosphere casual. The menu has a good variety of new American dishes; what I thought was a nice touch is the beer they serve comes from the Gun Hill Brewery right here in the Bronx. My party and I started by sharing the saffron shrimp; they came on top of sliced cucumber and had a pickled jalapeño on top. It was super tasty — the shrimp had a crispy quality that was unexpected and the jalapeño added flavor without adding too much heat. For my main I had the pulled pork sandwich which came topped with American(or was it cheddar? It looked American so I’ll go with that) cheese and onion rings on the side. The sandwich was slammin — full of flavor and very tasty; the onion rings didn’t fall apart when you bit into them and were also very good. Servers were friendly, and overall I was super impressed — I was kind of expecting the food to be average but it totally exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes — a great place to go as an alternative to your typical City Island restaurant.

Amazing. I loved this place when it was sugar and spice. Archie’s has made so many improvements but I am very pleased that the food has remained the same. The décor is cool, casual, comfortable and visibly appealing. This is a small joint but the chef is the owner so you know your getting the best every time. The brunch is phenomenal. Mimosas are pricey but worth it bc they make them strong enough to catch a buzz off of one(if your a petite gal with a low tolerance lol). I have yet to come for dinner but judging by the brunch and menu selection it won’t disappoint. They also have a great beer and wine selection and perfectly sized bar. Also, fresh squeezed orange juice… Need I say more?
