Brook Luncheonette

Good food, arrives fresh and hot. I order lunch from them.

I get food delivered from this place about 2 – 3 times a week. Their curly fries and waffle fries are seasoned and fried to perfection! I don’t think there is another place in this neighborhood that offers curly or waffle fries, so get ‘em here!!! Delivery is usually very quick, they let you pay in cash, and they also always follow my annoying directions, so kudos to them! Did I mention they offer whole wheat for their wraps? This is almost unheard of in the South Bronx! So Brook Luncheonette is the true MVP!

i love this place!
i never have tried the breakfast because i am too hooked on the mofongo. the sauce is divine, the service is prompt, the beer is cold, and the staff is really accommodating. my girlfriend speaks spanish (i am clueless) and they really go the extra mile to make me feel non-​idiotic. the cuchifrito is all REALLY good, and really fresh. i always love the caribbean touch when they stuff a napkin in the top of your bottle.

So if you ever find yourself on brook avenue in the south bronx at 8am on a Thursday and you’re searching for a cheap & satisfying breakfast –Brook Luncheonette is the place.
I was working in the neighborhood — which I’ve now learned is called Mott Haven — and we were all searching around for breakfast. We passed Mc Donald’s (i’d rather starve) & several grossly mysterious deli counters & then we stumbled upon this cute little diner. This place only has about four 2-​seater tables and a long counter w/​the old time attached bar stools behind which are the cooks and a large open grill.
I saw an older gentlemen eating a delicious looking breakfast at the counter. He had to be a regular so I ordered the same thing he had: 2 eggs over easy with hashbrowns, toast (that was already buttered!) and a coffee. They packed it up for me so I could finish eating it at work and it all cost me only $ 3.50! Sweet! It was delicious in that way that great diner food is and the coffee — wow it was really good too!
If I lived in Mott Haven, I’d be stopping in here daily and I’d be good friends w/​those friendly cooks behind the counter by now.
