Dr. Magid listened to my concerns but the cleaning was crappy, not thorough and my hair, face, back, and neck were all wet after! He asked me if I wanted some teeth to be filled only on the surface as a precaution since I had deep grooves and could possibly get cavities in the future. He would file out the grooves and fill them straight so my teeth wouldn’t have the deep grooves anymore. I asked if I actually had cavities and if it was necessary and he couldn’t really answer me at first and then said, «Um, microscopic». I let him do the fillings because I figured he knows what he was doing. The secretaries are meh, I initially had trouble making an appointment. Office is hood looking and some equipment are not modern. They still make appointments via book and not computers, use old school charts and no digital xrays. I’m used to a more modern setting, more professional office staff and better cleanings. With all of this I decided to give the poor Dentist the benefit of the doubt. I made the mistake of recommending a friend. Her cleaning was worse. The doctor was trying to nickle and dime her saying that she had to pay extra to take away certain small reachable stains from her teeth. She’s never had to do that before with other dentists. Cleaning all tartar and stains from teeth has always been included and is part of a thorough dental cleaning. She declined, went home, looked in the mirror and her teeth looked the same as before the cleaning. What a waste! I’ll stick to more professional and attentive dentist’s who care about quality, value of service and not money. BEWARE!!! P. S. Update Weeks later I was speaking to another Dentist and she said some dentist sell that line about the deep grooves for the purpose of collecting money when the person doesn’t really have cavities. Since it’s on the surface of the teeth, some dentist don’t think it’s a big deal, but it’s unnecessary. That freaked me out. I don’t know if Dr. Magid did that with me but the fact that he couldn’t straight answer if I did or didn’t have cavities and then said, «Um, microscopic», kind of makes me think something sketchy was going on. I just hope he did the fillings properly and I don’t get future repercussions because of him. :(
