My locksmith experience is limited so I didn’t think I was overcharged by Dependable Locks until I read the other reviews. Anyways, I locked myself out of my new apartment back in Nov 2007. I called a friend and asked him to look up a locksmith. I called whatever number he gave me, which apparently is a NY based company that subcontracts services in other states(including WA). The tech showed up pretty quickly. He had to try several techniques to get into my apartment, which at the time I found interesting but now I wonder if he was making it more complicated than it really was in order to overcharge me? But he was friendly and seemed trustworthy, which is important since I was paying some dude to break into my house while I was alone. I paid $ 147 for the service. Dependable Locks is available 24 — 7, which is good since you can’t always manage to lock yourself out during business hours. Credit cards accepted. The Toll Free number is 866−429−9485. Hmm, here’s an article about the owners of the company being arrested for mail fraud, money laundering and overcharging customers: And here’s an investigation in 2009 in UT: According to another article Dependable Locks is(was?) the same company as Priceline Locksmith and Superb Solutions Locksmith, so I would be wary of any of those. And I suggest checking to see if the locksmith of your choice is licensed, though I know this can be difficult in a lockout situation. I don’t know if I was quoted one price and charged another, but due to federal charges against Dependable Locks I cannot give them a higher rating. I would go with a local locksmith such as Argens, Nyberg, or Ballard Lock & Key if I was in this position again.
