Typical Mexican restaurant operated by Chinese immigrants in New York City. Similar to the Fresco Tortilla chain found in Manhattan, this is fast food Mexican prepared entirely by Chinese immigrants who have learned the art of cooking cheap Mexican food. The food isn’t bad and they do a pretty good job of satisfying cravings for this type of cuisine, especially in Co-op City. Not the fanciest but they will do for now. The restaurant is owned and operated by the same owners of the Chinese take-out restaurant next door.

It feeds the erg of greasy, cheese tacos late at night bite in co-op city. Not that bad either. Try the mexican pizza!

You’ve got to be kidding me… El Paso taco kits are more authentic. FAIL.

I can’t say this place has the cuisine of some fancy place in Manhattan, but it satisfies a violent Mexican craving after an afternoon of… um…stuff. It’s cheap and quick, and the people behind the counter are nice. The food can be greasy and messy, but it tastes good. Try the quesadillas. It’s kind of hard to screw up a quesadilla, and they do it well. I just wish they wouldn’t be so stingy with the knives.

Living in co-op isn’t easy. There is only ONE taco/tex-mex place around and it’s in Section 5. The food is greasy unless you order something grilled and since I recently went vegetarian I had no idea that the shrimp wasn’t grilled. I’d been so used to the grilled steak and chicken. What a difference. I suppose that if it’s really good mexian food you want, skip Eddie’s and order from a place further away via delivery. But if money’s tight and you’d rather walk-in, then settle for Eddie’s because they’re the only guys in town and they’re really cheap!
