Hole in a the wall type of spot located in the Bronx. El Nuevo Delicioso had a wide variety of menu items to choose from. Rice, beans, porkchops, chicken, steak to mention a few. I’m a real big fan of their Puerto Rican style red beans. Really nice flavor. Good lunch option if you don’t want to eat the fast food chains located in the area.

I’ve passed this place often enough as it’s literally around the corner from me, and never inside until now. Let me tell you up front, stay away. You can get better food elsewhere nearby, like El Valle on 149 St. What awaited me inside was a littered floor, broken chairs, chipped & wobbly tables, peeling paint, broken light fixtures, waitresses out if uniform, placemat menus, & all that was before being served. I never received a glass if water until I asked for it, I had to ask for a menu to order, and was served by a waitress who seemed aloof as to what her duties should be. My order, a Cuban hero sandwich deluxe, was somewhat ok except for the bread which was far too old & hard for that type of meal. My waitress never checked up on me throughout my stay, and I had to get up and request my check. Beware, it’s cash only(no surprise). I’m honestly surprised that this place is still open, but I wouldn’t bet on that for much longer …

This place has delicious dominican food. The stewed beef is to die for!!! The meat is very tender and the sauce is wonderful. The rotisserie chicken is good too. The stewed red beans are delicious!!! I just don’t recommend getting rice from this place because it’s old and dried up. Your better off making your own rice, or buying it from the cuchifrito on third avenue. I still give it five stars because I’m hard to please when it comes to beans and stewed beef. I’m very picky.
