There is nothing that you get here that is not delicious… food is great and the smiles are the best…

On Thursday she serves roti, and it’s closer to Dol Pouri(which ground chick pea in it). That and the curry reminds me of what I grew up on. So nice to have access to such delicious food right around the corner. Even the grilled chicken was moist and delicious.

Had the jerk chicken w rice and beans and yellow split pea and mushroom — $ 8 for a medium plate. Twas enough food but I didn’t feel like it was all that amazing. The jerk chicken was a bit too clove-y for me and not very saucy at all albeit tender and juicy. The yellow split pea and mushroom was pretty good and the rice and beans were meh…

Hands-down THE best lunch I’ve had since I began working in the Bronx 3 months ago. For $ 5 I ordered the jerk chicken gyro with white and hot sauce, and today is the first time in a long time that I still felt satisfied as I packed up to leave work at 5pm. Served on a fluffy, fresh pita, the jerk chicken itself, though not«spicy» per se(IMO, at least), packed a delicious punch of heat, which was offset by a refreshingly cool blend of diced tomato and cucumber. Overall impression: Worth the wait! The juicy sandwich ALMOST turned into a fork and knife affair, but as long as you plan on sitting down to eat it, it’s well worth the effort.

Vendy Award Finalist — I had to try. Fauzia’s kids are worth mentioning as seeing them pitch in and graciously help the long line of hungry customer’s on a summer weekend, those are some great kids! But on to the food. I visited their cart on Governor’s Island and compared to the other vendors, Fauzia had the best value menu. For a large entrée with two sides, the price is $ 10 + tax and the portion size was enough for 2. We asked the daughter for the jerk chicken and to select the sides and sauces for us. She was excited to prep our platter of jerk chicken over rice and mixed vegetables. The chicken was tender and seasoned really well. I wish the platter came with more! I would guess there was about 10oz of chicken to the entrée but there was plenty of rice and veggies. I also got her famous spiced carrot cake for $ 3.50 a slice. It was moist and the frosting was sugary sweet — the perfect way to end our meal.

Amazing food truck also on 161street in the Bronx. She has delicious vegetarian options daily, which is rare in the area and super appreciated!

Best lamb ever, amazing jerk, curry and grilled chicken. Amazing owners, very friendly and helpful. Carrot cake and Red Velvet cake are out of this world. This is such a gem in the Bronx. It’s a good stand, wish they had an actual shop with tables.

Grilled lamb, cabbage, yam, yum! Service with a smile and a laugh. Got the large size, she doesn’t stint on the meat, veggies, whatever you ask for. I love that she doesn’t force you to take rice with your order like similar carts can sometimes do. Very much recommended.

Fauzia Heavenly Delights NY Bronx Grand Concourse 12pm Wednesday 12th2014 Four Stars This food stand is always crowded at the 1pm lunch break. I got out early so I tried this Caribbean food truck. I had a jerk chicken gyro which was an odd combo but everything was delicious. The chicken had plenty of flavor. The pita, lettuce, tomato, and sauce made for an easy $ 5 Meal.

We experienced tasty food from the food truck on Governor’s Island. It was a very generous portion and the food was cooked to perfection. The lady who owns this operations son was serving and we all found him so well mannered and engaging. All round pleasure.

Two words: Jerk Chicken I was doing a summer internship in the Bronx and stumbled upon this little street cart one afternoon. It’s very small and unassuming(it looks pretty much like every other street cart you’d ever see dotting NYC streets). However, do not be fooled. This place is indeed heavenly. The lines can be pretty long, but on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday(jerk chicken days) it’s totally worth it. They serve curry chicken on Tuesday and Thursday, and unfortunately I’m not as big a fan of that dish. They also have really good banana pudding. Their vegetarian options vary daily, but since I am a carnivore, I can’t vouch for those. This little cart is definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in the area!

I finally just tried Fauzia’s and am so angry that I waited so long to do so. It is amazing. I’ve passed it a million times because I didn’t want to wait in the line that is always there at lunch time. Now I know it’s worth the wait.

This is actually a review of the Fauzia’s truck that was stationed on Governor’s Island 7÷13÷13. Both of us each got a jerk chicken platter. We both agreed that it was delicious. And it was huge! We definitely could have split one, even with us both being starving. This is a Governor’s Island best value. The day I was there, there was a long line at Le Gamin food stand at Paradiso but no line at this truck. Very pleased with my choice.

Luckily for me, I did not have to travel up to 161st Street to taste Fauzia’s home-made Jamaican food. She took her entire cart down to 42nd and Vanderbilt for the Earth Day Fair in April. I saw the news article on Midtown Lunch and I knew I had to try them. I ordered the curry chicken and it was very salty. The flavors can fairly be described as bold, but extremely strong. The curry chicken was salty to the point I couldn’t even finish my meal, which is an extremely rare occurrence. I tried to wash away the saltiness with my sorrel, but unfortunately it was frozen, so that wasn’t much help for most of my meal.

The last two times I’ve been, they weren’t there :(!!! Somebody tell me what’s going on. I miss Fauzia’s amazingly delicious and healthy food. Her banana puddiing is delish too! Wish she’d open a real storefront in a convenient location.

Definitely heavenly. I’ve had the jerk chicken, curry chicken, lamb, rice and cabbage(not all at once but it’s good enough that I’d consider it). The food is reasonably priced, like 6ish for a rice platter. I also like that they have pepper sauce instead of plain red hot sauce like you buy at the grocery store. The lines are problematic for sure, get there before 1 and you should be ok. On certain days Fauzia’s son works alone with a smaller chicken and rice-looking cart, but he still has jerk chicken and cabbage. A lot of times, there’s less of a crowd on these days, and you can still have something different from the usual chicken and rice.

Fauzia is practically a godsend when I think about the quality food options in my work neighborhood. She makes really delicious West Indian stews, curries, jerk chicken, and even vegetarian options. And she always have a great selection of yummy vegetable sides. Occasionally she’ll have roti or falafels as well. My favorites are her grilled lamb, curry chicken, yams and lentils and of course, her banana pudding. Go before 1pm to avoid the lines.

I do not usually order food from food stands because they sort of creep me out. My co-workers from Bronx Family Court all rave about this food stand. They convinced me to try it out. There is always a line to buy her food. Once I actually waited 20 minutes on line to get her food. Today I ordered the jerk chicken, rice and peas, sauteed cabbage. It was really delicious. The chicken was so tender, bonless and peppery. The rice and peas perfectly cooked. You can’t have jerk chicken without rice and peas. And the sauteed cabbage was nice and spicy. Their lunch selections change everyday. She gets her produce from a farmer’s market. Her husband makes a killer dessert made with vanilla wafers, pudding, fresh bananas and cool whip.

I tried the food here on Governor’s Island. I think it’s the same thing, unless she has a branch. Be prepared to wait in line. Also be prepared for soulful Jamaican grub. For $ 8, I got jerk chicken, rice with beans, and cabbage. Everything tasted like it was made with love. The chicken falls apart at the touch of your plastic fork. The cabbage has a lot of other vegetables in it, so you feel like you’re being somewhat healthful. After riding our rented bikes for 2 hours, Fauzia’s Heavenly Delights hit the spot.

(Open daily for lunch, arrive on the early side) For such a lofty name, the actual food cart on this busy downtown Bronx corner might disappoint some, as it does nothing to set itself apart visually from others on any street throughout the city. But get close, read the hand-written menu, and taste the food, and«heavenly» will suddenly come into focus. Arrive no later than 1pm at this popular cart, for the meat dishes start running out, and everything is of limited supply. On my latest visit, the three meat entrees were crossed off the list(at exactly 2pm), and I decided to sample just the lentils and spinach($ 3). The vegetables are delicious, spiced in a way that conjures up a jerk sauce. One meat entrée and this or another vegetable side is definitely enough for two people to fill their bellies. Fauzia herself(I’m assuming that is her name) is a charming character, never without a smile and eager to recommend or help despite any lines forming behind you. I’m sure she also brings smiles to the faces of many people who work in the area and have such a great street vendor option.
