Every time I try to order a pie here later at night DURING SAID BUSINESS HOURS they tell me they’re ‘closed’. Either change your hours on all media and publications or stop being lazy and make a pizza. Make up your mind or make up some finite hours.

So disappointed that my boyfriend and I spent as much as we did today at Franks. He’s not so picky so his bacon slice sufficed as is even though it was burnt but I on the other hand was far from happy with my «Caesar salad». I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad, which cost $ 13, and when I got back home I noticed that the salad was not made with mixed greens like specified on the menu but with iceberg lettuce instead. It honestly makes you feel scammed since iceberg lettuce is so cheap and it has almost no nutritional value to it, to be topped with heated up pre-​cooked frozen shrimp… Really turned me off. I’ll be skeptical about ordering here again.

Just called Frank’s to place a delivery order and Frank picked up the phone! He read back by order, calculated my total, and asked me if I wanted to leave a tip on the card. He made my long phone-​in order completely painless.
So many pizza places in this area and Frank’s pizza is consistently great… just ordered my usual eggplant rollatini, Napoleon hero and napolitana pie. MMM MMM MMM~

In all fairness I haven’t had a chance to taste everything on the menu, yet! That’s when I expect they will earn their last star. Two items that are a must are the Bruschetta appetizers & Bruschetta pizza! TIPS: order in advance — they get THAT busy bet. pick up & delivery!

Don’t know what is going on with FRANK’S but lately the Pizza Sucks. The sauce is horrible. Last night ordered a pie at 7pm didn’t get delivered until 8:45pm and arrived COLD. This is not the first time
this has happened. If the delivery is going to take time let the customer know when placing the order. Over the summer had company over and ordered two large pies when they arrived cold and tasted like the where sitting over night, which it was a Saturday nite at 7pm. One pie wasn’t even cut. I don’t know what is going on with Franks but the owner need to pay attention. Anyone who takes their hard earned money & time involved to open up a business should Have the BEST Food on the Avenue.

This was my first time having Frank’s pizza and I was quite optimistic about it since my mother-​in-​law has good taste in food. However, she was quite off on this one. We ordered a large pie, three beef patties (one with cheese, the other with mushrooms, and one plain), and a 2-​liter soda bottle. Our order was delivered in a somewhat timely fashion. However, the food was not worth the wait. The pizza was cold, and the cheese was somewhat melted to a hard chard like paste and the tomato sauce was very salty. The beef patties were less than average and the soda was lost amongst the other deliveries. The soda made it back home, but by that time hunger had set-​in and the pizza amongst us was gone. Will I order from Franks again? Maybe not, unless I have no other choice when visiting Throggs Neck. Will I recommend it to anyone? No, I wouldn’t. Sorry Frank’s, but in all honesty I’ve tasted way better pizza. Price is reasonable.

Their pizzas and parms weren’t cooked very well this day. Their garlic sticks were hard and not tasteable. Their pizzas were hard and gave me food poisoning. I never had a complaint with their foods, but today wasn’t a good day.

Big, floppy triangular slabs of pizza. Solid cheese and sauce combination with a decent crust albeit slightly doughy, but not a major prob. Excellent veal parm hero with tangy, flavorful tomato sauce.
Frank’s recently expanded with a more formal dining area instead of just a take-​out counter with a few seats and tables. This is so they can compete with the other trendy eateries popping up in Throgs Neck (Tosca, Patricia’s, etc.)
Their display at the front counter needs freshening up. While they have signs that the food is for display only, it’s not appetizing to look at beef patties that look like they’ve been oven-​raped. Worse, the pizza pies in the display counter are so old and stale they look ossified.
But once again, the pizza here is very passable. It’s not my favorite in the neighborhood, but you won’t be disappointed.

Good dough, if underdone. And it’s clean inside, so that’s good. They also have complete dinners and deluxe seafood chalkboard specials, stuff like that. I’m sure there are some very good things to get on the menu, but my rating reflects the decent regular and sicilian slices I got, with the sicilian being better because of the greater dough: toppings ratio.
I prefer Tommy’s across the street for pizza.

Stopped over here during a summer visit to NY. The place looks a little dingy from outside but don’t let that stop you from going in.
The cheese steak pizza was super awesome and definitely this chicagoan will stop by if he is back in that area.

This is right across the street from 2 other well known and great pizzeria’s.
Its seems that each place does well because all 3 have been in business for a while now.
Franks offers a larger menu then Tommy’s Pizza across the street. Although, Tommy’s pizza is better then Franks, but Tommy’s doesn’t offer to many choices on the menu. Mainly pizza only.
I give Franks 4 stars for having good pizza and making great hero sandwiches and dinner dishes. Their delivery is quick and on point as well!
