While the prices are very reasonable, the pasta dish ordered today was quite disappointing. The pasta wasn’t anything special. The sauce was completely void of flavor. Only after adding an disgusting amount of salt and other seasoning was it anywhere near edible. It’s been recommended that I try this place for a while now, but it was worse than expected and left much to be desired.

Great seating and friendly staff. Pizza is ok doesn’t really stand out from the other places. Over priced decent pizza.

I came in here during the summer with my two children. We happened to be in the mood for pizza and this particular spot seamed family oriented. We were there on a Tuesday evening and the place was nice and empty but as time passed more families came. We ordered a sampler for appetizers and an extra cheese pizza. The flavors were amazing the pizza Taste so fresh and as of all the herbs were just picked and placed on the slices. We loved it and would absolutely go back to enjoy a pie.

After trying a few of NYC’s best«pizza spots» according to google, I’ve come to realize nothing will compare to Frescos. The crust and the dough are cooked to perfection, there’s no crust that cuts the top of your mouth here. Their tomato sauce doesn’t taste cheap, and the combination of cheese and tomato sauce is perfect. Not to mention the buffalo wings are incredible. I’ll be a customer for the rest of my life. The best and most underrated Pizza spot in the city.

I have NEVER had a negative experience with this place. The restaurant is clean. People are nice and the food is always ready within a decent timeframe. The first time I ate here I had a regular cheese pizza. The sauce they use on EVERYTHING is addicting! There’s a hint of sweetness to it that makes all the difference with your experience here at Frescos. The cheese taste fresh and the crust is always soft and not overcooked — unless you request a crispy slice. There are whole wheat pizza options which is rare in the Bronx. The second time I ate here I ordered lobster ravioli. Again, Frescos didn’t disappoint. The lobster chunks were abundant and the sauce amazing as usual. The order came with a 6″ Italian bread that was warm and soft. I highly recommend both the lobster ravioli and pizza here. There’s a reason Rachel Ray talks about this place. It’s the South Bronx’s little secret and I’m proud it’s in my hometown!

I rely on Unilocal a lot and usually Unilocalers are spot on with their reviews. But this is one time I think my fellow Unilocalers got it wrong. On my visit, Fresco pizzeria in the Bronx did not live up to its 4.5 star rating. First off, there was a panhandler outside door wanting my spare change– when I told him I didn’t have any he said he would wait for me when I was done breaking my paper money for dinner. Great now I have to worry about someone waiting for my change right outside the door. I was expecting authentic Italian food– nope– the pizza slice was old and cold and had a stale taste– like it was cooked 8 hours earlier. I also had the lasagna– all noodles with a slice of mozzarella cheese on top. The slice of lasagna I was served had no– I repeat– no ricotta cheese– all noodles that were brown in color and soggy in texture. I could not finish it– however the red sauce was good and it came with a hoagie roll. The neighborhood is a dump, the place smells of something old and moldy, and the food is not authentic Italian(more like«Italian» food made in the Dominican Republic) What keeps my review from a one star is the red sauce(very good) and the price– very reasonable prices(but you sometimes get what you pay for.) Will never return.

I’ve been going to frescos for years and I’ve always found the pizza to be fabulous. I’ve had regular cheese slices, buffalo chicken, BBQ chicken, meatball, pepperoni And others. I’ve had the garlic knots pepperoni rolls calzones etc I think just about everything is good here. The only thing that can use adjustment is the wheat slices which are a bit greasy. The pizza is good but it isn’t the best I’ve had so it doesn’t get 5 stars

I was in town to watch the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles and I was dying for a real New York Pizza. I currently live in Phoenix Arizona and there is no such thing as a good pizza. I googled pizza and it brought me to this establishment. My pizza was phenomenal and the service was exceptional.

I can’t tell you how long it took us to find a good pizza place in New York! And who knew it was a block away from my girlfriend’s mom’s apartment? We were in NY for a week. I kept hearing how I was going to have great NY pizza while we were there. We looked high and low and almost always found cheap $ 1.00 slices that looked terrible. FINALLY, her step-dad told us about this place. As soon as we walked up, a whole truck load of fire fighters were leaving with orders. And soon after that, another truck pulled up! If FDNY likes it, then it must be good! We ordered a whole pie with pepperoni. Took a bit, but it was worth the wait! The best pizza the whole time we were in NY! Prices were reasonable, too. I wish we would have had more time to come back again!

So my girlfriend and I were looking for a good pizza shop all week! We found his hidden gem on our last day in the Bronx. There were about 10 firefighters going in and we thought it must be good. The outside door was double so the nice ac air stays in. There is plenty of seating. We got a medium pepperoni pie, with2 sprites. It was about $ 16 which was really good because we got a pie. The pizza was soooooooo GOOD! I was sad that we didn’t find this place sooner! It’s really nice in the inside, they have a lot of cool pictures up on the walls and the customer service was GREAT! If you are ever in NYC check this place out its worth it! Wish I could have some now!

I’ve driven by here before a while back but never really noticed this place until I read some reviews on Unilocal. We were looking for a good place to do some catering and didn’t want to go with Giovannis(a bit overpriced IMO). So we read good reviews about this place and I decided to take a drive to this spot and grab their menus. Later that week we placed an order for delivery(pasta dishes, pizza and desserts) Boy oh boy were we happy. Food came hot, fresh and tasted delicious! Then I passed by the place again to ask questions about their catering. The guy that helped(could be the owner, not sure) was very helpful and nice. Never was I rushed(place was getting a bit busy) I wanted to try their famous Rachel Slice, but they were out, however, one of the guys said no worries i’ll make a fresh one for you, niiicceee!!! LOL The slice of pizza was awesome, haven’t had anything like that before! I’m craving a slice as I write this lol. ^_^ We were already sold from the first time we ordered — So we did our Catering with them and let me tell you guys we were NOT disappointed at all! The food was delivered promptly at the time we wanted, they threw in free garlic knots along with the bread it already brings, food was piping hot and most importantly DELICIOUS!!! Everyone gave it 2 thumbs up! The amount of food we ordered fed roughly 25 people AND we had leftovers which we split with our family to take home b/c food especially GREAT food cannot go to waste! The catering menu is reasonably priced and we will not hesitate to cater from here again. Thanks Fresco!

We learned about this place from Unilocal. We were in the area for some other things and needed a place for lunch. We were not disappointed. The staff was very nice, the place was very clean, and the pizza was excellent. Based on some reviews, we had the Rachel Ray pie. Let me start by saying we usually are minimalist when it comes to pizza toppings. So a pizza like this is not something we usually prefer. However, this was was some of the best pizza we have had. The toppings were fresh, and complimented each other very well. I was very impressed with this pie. I can’t say enough about the staff either. What a great lunch experience!

Best Penne Vodka in the south Bronx and their pizza is delicious. You should try the Rachel Ray or the Grandma pizza. The staff is super friendly.

I would probably give Fresco 4.5 stars, but since I can’t, I’ll round up. It’s a nice pizza shop in the south Bronx. The owners do a good job. The Rachel Ray slice is among the best I’ve had. The regular slices are less than average … too doughy. So basically, I don’t get the regular slices. They have a good deal on heroes … hero plus a drink for $ 7.50. That’s not bad. It’s located across the street from a high school. So don’t go there when the students get out. It’s a mad house. Perhaps a more organized system will help alleviate some of the congestion during«rush» hour. But when it’s calm, the food is good, and the workers aren’t rushed.

Fresco’s is the place to go for awesomely delicious pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads! Everything I’ve had is always delish!!! And I’ve been coming here since they opened! The pizza has just right balance of crust, sauce and cheese! It’s the kind of pizza I had as a kid! We’ve had several varieties and they are all good. They make a mean Meatball & Chicken Parmesan! Crunchy bread and all yummy inside! They make great pasta and I love their Chicken Cesar Salad! So good! Recommend: Absolutely!!! Price: $ Cons: Street parking can be dicey. So next time your in the area make sure you stop by Fresco’s!!! You won’t regret it!!!

I visited the Pizza place, on a friday night, very crowded but well worth it. The place is clean, and the staff was great. I got that history feel when sitting down, nice tv to watch sports, but the food is fresh, no heat lamp here. I have to say this is by far the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had. I will definitely go back when in the Bronx to dine in again. Well worth the visit. Amazing… GO

This place is a staple in the neighborhood. It is the best place to eat for blocks and blocks. Everyone knows it, everyone comes here. The people here are friendly and work hard to earn your business, day after day, and they don’t have to. People will flock to Fresco(or «Fresco’s» as the locals call it). The garlic knots and pizza bites are cheap and phenomenal. The wheat bread slice is also one of my favorites. I also have regularly ordered the barbecue chicken and hot wings chicken slices. But most of all, I’ve eaten the good ol’ fashioned pepperoni slice. Take a few extra napkins cause the thing is deliciously greasy.

It’s hard to beat Bronx pizza. Is it the water that makes Bronx pizza stand out from the rest? Fresco is a pretty big pizzeria/restaurant. The slices are perfect. The crust, size, sauce, cheese… everything about it. The«Grandma» slice is off the heeeeezy! My only issue? The Yankee memorabilia all over the walls. How about some Met stuff? Anyway, Fresco is what defines authentic Bronx pizza.
