Just ordered a big tiramisu for my birthday… well worth the 90-minute drive. It’s a good thing we don’t live too much closer or I’d really have to watch my weight! We’ve been eating Jerome’s cakes, cookies, and pastries for years and years. As far as we’re concerned, there is no other bakery!

Really cute little Italian bakery just off Arthur Avenue. My grandfather grew up in this neighborhood, and it kinda felt like the folks sitting in the bakery could have been my elder relatives too. It had that charm. Service was friendly and fast, but not so fast that you feel rushed. The cannoli are a must. The filling is just the right consistency to make a mess but taste so good you don’t even care. A lot of places the filling is too thick. It’s perfect at Gino’s. They also have the usual Italian favorites– ricotta pie, those pink cookies, rainbow cookies, etc. I tried the ricotta pie and it was good but I personally like it a little sweeter. It didn’t stop me from eating the whole piece though.

Ordered my best friends baby shower cake from them. I wish I had a picture to share along with a sample. The cake was incredible, the design perfect. Cake was so good my other best gal pal had her husband order her shower cake from Gino’s.

Tiny old school bakery. The kind where the owner/master baker sits at a desk right in the back that is piled high with papers and all kinds of stuff that has accumulated over the years as he peers out from behind and holds court. Many of the locals come and go and chat with him and the friendly staff. Very homey kind of place that is a throwback to the old school bakeries of the past. The kind that my great aunts and uncles in Brooklyn took me to as a child. Wonderful homemade pastries and cakes back then, and emulated here quite well. No wonder I was a fat kid! Also, just walk in to see all the celebrity pics, WWE wrestler photos, and well known notables hanging on the wall. Many autographed, and many with the owner. The dude knows them all. Overall, good pastries! Try the cannoli!

This is hands down my favorite bakery. From the Italian cheesecake, to the cannolis, to the custom cakes. This bakery can provide for all your needs. During the holidays the selection of pies is incredible. For my engagement party, my fiancé and I sat down with Jerome and discussed our options. He suggested a ring box cake and trusting his professional opinion decided to go with that. The cake was so stunning! We knew it would be great, but it exceeded any expectation that we had about what we thought it would look like. Everyone loved it and I’m sure there are a million pictures of it floating around now. The best part about the cake was that it tasted better than it looked, so you know it was amazing! We had yellow cake with their famous cannoli cream and French chocolate. It is my new go to cake for all occasions. This place is a must if you take a trip to Arthur Ave to Have a nice cappuccino and cannoli and take in all the deliciousness!

I travel from Long Island just for the Annisette cookies. I can’t eat them from anywhere else. This is the kind of place that ruins you for any other bakery. I travel from Long Island to Buffalo every weekend for work. I’ve been to every Italian Bakery inbetween. This is simply the best Italian bakery in NY State.

My favorite bakery in the Arthur Avenue area, because it has the best miniature cannoli. I prefer mine plain, so will try to remember to say ‘no pistachios’. Having done a serious survey of the pastries in the area, my go-to place is Gino’s.

Dear Jerome and Gino’s Bakery, I thought you might like to see a photo of the horrible cake you sent for our bridal shower. This has absolutely no resemblence to the beautiful photo we sent to you as a guide. The cupcakes were so small that the final result didn’t look like a cake at all… the frosting didn’t totally cover them and did not resemble the elegant swirls of the original. And you added silver sprinkles and a tacky rhinestone ornament which were not requested in our order. Despite the several conversations by phone, the cake, which was supposed to be orchid color, was white, on an orchid board. But while that was disappointing, the fact that the tiny cupcakes were inedible with that oily crisco frosting and disgusting cannoli filling, not to mention the cake mix you used for the cake, rendered this very expensive gift(I ordered for the bride) a total disaster! You should be ashamed of yourselves. No one should be served a cake like this!!! THISWASTHEWORST! We chose it based on your reviews… is this even the same bakery”? A throwback to the worst sheet cake you have ever eaten.

Jerome is the great GINO’s son! a great family and a great bakery dynasty. Gino’s made some of the original MEGA wedding cakes in the 70’s and 80’s with multi tiers, bridges, fountains, etc. A great taste of tradition and quality!

The people were very nice and friendly. Cannoli shell was crunchy but the filling left more to desire. The chocolate cannoli should be avoided.

Seriously the most delicious Cannoli that I have had in a very long time in the US. They are piped fresh and made with a deliciously crisp shell. I will only comment on the cannoli as I was not expecting an amazing pasticciotto like the ones found in Puglia. ;-)

Our first time in the Arthur Avenue district and this was our top pick. Was nicely greeted by Jerome another women as well as a sweet Italian woman. We came in for the Cannoli’s which were filled before our eyes with the freshest filling I have ever had. We chose the chocolate shell that was thickly dipped in chocolate and hardens to this incredible crunchy rich shell. Jerome was generous in putting on lots of pistachio’s on the ends of the cannoli’s . Also bought the tarralli(Italian pepper cookies) they were good but nothing to write home about. Maybe it is just me but I like lots of pepper. Topped it off with a mini cream pastry that was so moist yet flakey and the filling very fresh. We were offered a free expresso because it was small business day. A definite gem of a place.

Whenever I need cookies or pastry for a party or to bring as a dinner guest, I come here. I have never received anything but enthusiastic compliments regarding the pastry from others. I have even used Gino’s when I hosted several important events at work. They are terrific. The mother and son who staff their store are very friendly and helpful. The quality of the pastry is top and they have a good selection of rarely found Italian pastry that is not found in the other pastry shops in Belmont /Arthur Ave. I strongly recommend this pasticceria — you can’t go wrong.

I was referred to call Jerome from Gino’s to get a great cake for a work party we were having. Even though I called Jerome’s cell phone and not the bakery’s phone– he was so kind, patient, professional and sweet. I needed the cake within 2 days and he delivered. It was gorgeous, affordable, and he went out of his way to make it more creative and unique by adding flowers to the cake– after consulting with me of course,(the person for whom the cake was for, her name was Daisy) — adorable! I will definitely order any other cakes that I need from Gino’s in the future.

If I could write a review just on the older Italian lady that works here, I would give her five stars. She is one of those people that can instantly put a smile on my face through her sweet nature. For the whole store I will stick with four, not because of any negatives but only because I cannot say this shop has the best pastries I have ever had. They are up there, and I have never had a bad pastry, but they are not the absolute best. Still, I love this store, and will continue to fulfill my random sweet cravings from here.

Gino’s did make my wedding cake. It was delicious and quite affordable. Many people at the wedding were commenting on the delicious cake. The decorations on the cake were simple. I’m glad that the owner convinced me to put the ribbon around the cake.
