Good To Go

I was in town on business and stopped for lunch. I must say the experience was top notch from the free valet all the way through paying our bill. We had the fried raviolis, calamari, coconut shrimp and capresse salad. They were all very good and the home made bread was delicious. Top notch!

I grew up in the Bronx but now live in Yonkers, so I always look forward being around the old neighborhood… especially the restaurants. A few of my favorites are no longer around or just aren’t the same anymore :(
However, I’m happy to say that although I haven’t been to Good to Go in a couple of years, it hasn’t changed a bit. My husband and I were both very happy with our meals (we took most of it home because we had a hot antipasto platter and between that and the warm bread and flavored olive oil, we were full!) and the service was great. Thank you so much and we’ll be back for date nights as well as family lunch/​dinner with our children.

Went there with a friend last week and the food was amazing. The drinks are out of this world too. I ordered a «Ciroc party» and was blown away. It’s a mixture of all the Ciroc flavors and it was better than I thought. Our waitress Denise who made the drinks was so cool and is the heart of the restaurant in my opinion. She gave good suggestions and recommendations and she really knew the menu inside and out. The atmosphere was cool, laid back and comfortable. I really couldn’t have asked for a better time. U gotta check out this restaurant whenever you’re in the Bronx by the Eastchester area. U won’t regret it.

Great food, a bit of a long waiting time for the to go orders though. Would certainly order again!

The name is misleading as it is an outstanding place to sit and have a great time. The staff greets you and you feel like family there. The menu is very extensive and there is something for everyone’s different preferences. All the dishes I have had there are served with enough food for two people and it’s done true Italian style. Gerry and his whole crew are so attentive to everybody having a great experience there. They make every visit a festive one. Truly fantastic night out for all.

I have eaten here, as well as ordered take out. It never disappoints. My daughters job gave her a going away party there recently. The menu was plentiful and everyone loved it. I went (last night) to a friends Daughters College Graduation party. I couldn’t believe the amount of food that kept coming out. Calamari, Shrimp Scampi, Skirt steak in a delicious sauce. There was too much to write. As Always everything was Delicious. The help was always on Que. It was really wonderful. I highly Recommend Good to go for Retirement parties, special Adult parties as well as Graduations and Sweet. sixteen parties. The staff was excellent ! Thank you Christina! No matter how late it got, your effervescent smile and attitude came through .i passed you by at least three times and you greeted me each time. Asking if there was anything I needed. Yes. Yes to this food. Yes to the lunch specials. Yes to the salad dressings.
The food here is always delicious. Delivery is sometimes hit or miss, they’re usually later than they promise, but the food is always hot and tasty. My office often has meetings catered by them, and they never disappoint. I’ve ordered from them a number of times because their selection is just that good, especially in a neighborhood without many options. I really love the salad with grilled salmon (cooked perfectly every time), and the cheese ravioli.

Was feeling too lazy to cook dinner, so I placed an order for delivery. The food was delicious & perfectly cooked. And the portions were huge! I am one very satisfied customer. My oh-​so-​picky boo was so pleased he requested we at this to *the* list. Thank you, Good to Go!

Delicious food, friendly hosts and Keri, our server was the best! The warm zeppoles at the end were the best part.

Yay! I placed a catering order with Molly. So professional and considerate. Food was great and prices were so reasonable. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, potato croquettes, and some other things. Will definitely come back. Cheers! –Corinne

Came here for Mother’s Day with my parents and brother. One of many times coming here. Great spot, great food, great drinks as always. Good To Go never disappoints along with the great service thanks to our waitress Keri. The potato krokets are always a must whenever going and the each new dish I try always leaves me satisfied. This time I went for the Stir Fry combo-​steak and shrimp with white rice.
Definitely a spot for families couples and friends of all kinds!

I have posted about good to go before as a decent place to order take out, this is no longer the case. First of all, they misinform the customer when they said ok to a $ 5.00 of coupon only to say that it was not accepted. Second of all, they stated 20 mins to pick up my order, I gave them an extra 10 mins when I went to pick up my order. It was still not ready, I waited with my 4 year old daughter in tow, an additional 20 mins, so they were late by 30 mins with when they said the order would be ready. This is unacceptable, if the person on the phone is honest and tells me, ok we are really busy right now it’s going to take 40 mins I would accept that, but to mislead and misinform the customer is inexcusable. I was left standing there for 20 min! Horrible service!

Asked for a water cup 3x. Ordered fettuccine and it took over an hour. Pasta takes 7 – 10 minutes to cook. Table next to us arrived at least 20 minutes after and was already served. Waitress told us that the kitchen forgot that we asked for two plates to split one dish and I don’t care and it’s irrelevant because my food hasn’t arrived. Alfredo tastes like it came from a jar that’s been expired for a month, maybe two (yes I’m an expired food connoisseur). Won’t be returning. Breaded chicken might as well be burnt fish sticks it’s so dry. If you want good Italian food in the Bronx, just go to arthur avenue. This place is for desperation late night munchies, not fine dining.

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND FOOD! They were faster to pick up the food and plates than to service us! It took 30 mins to get service and to get the check and it wasn’t even packed. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

This was my first time being at Good To Go. My family had seen the commercials for it but never bother to stop in until yesterday evening. As soon as we came in we were greeted and there was very little wait. The waitress was excellent. She informed us that it was happy hour and was extremely attentive to us. The food and drinks to a little longer than usual but the food was great and the atmosphere just made me not even think that we were there that long. My secod order of drink was sitting at the bar for a while and I informed the waitress, she apologized, and assured us that it wouldn’t happen again. My third and last drink was magnificent. The bus boy was very attentive to us as well, he was so great that we actually tipped him separately from the waitress. This place will defitnetly be my to go spot from now, it is a little hidden gem.

I ordered delivery from here. I was so disappointed with the food. The pasta needed more sauce, it was dry and the breaded chicken was overcooked and dry also. I might try eating in and hopefully change my review.

Went to Good to Go for Christmas Eve dinner. Was happy they were open late enough to accommodate an evening meal without a prefix menu. Mixed reviews on the food. Out of three meals one was tasteless. Ordered the red velvet cake for dessert and it was terrible — tasted like the refrigerator– the waiter removed it from our bill which was very agreeable. The restaurant itself is small but has a bar with seating, a small party room, and outdoor seating area. Overall a good place to hang out and be causal in the neighborhood. Anyone who lives in the Morris Park /​Pelham Parkway area knows that bars and casual hang outs are few and far between. The staff was friendly — another plus.

I usually sit at the bar with friends. Chrissy (the bartender) is amazing. She makes great Cosmos and the food is great. I have the same thing every time i go so i will recommend the wings and waffle fries. There’s outdoor seating and valet parking!

I have a love-​hate relationship with Good to Go. I’ve taken out from here frequently over the years and overall they send me mixed feelings.
On the positive side, they serve good food; if you’re eating in or taking out I recommend the goat cheese salad topped with shrimp or grilled chicken or the Italian Cobb salad. The house dressing that comes standard with the salads is tasty. Most of their other dishes are very good, there’s really no wrong thing to order off the menu. They’re a busy place, you may have to wait a little if ordering on the phone but they’re friendly which makes me not mind.
My problem with Good to Go is their inconsistency as far as delivery and speed of service. During peak times it can take over a hour for them to deliver your food, so I would usually just go and pick it up. More than once they’ve forgotten items in my order and have had to come back. Once, they overlooked my order all together; to make up for it they gave me a free 2-​liter bottle of soda, only to find out it was an already open bottle (gross).
On a more personal note, I’m not a fan of the name «Good to Go» — it never sat right with me.
All in all, I like Good to Go — they make good food and their staff is friendly. However, you need to know what to expect with the service. If you’re taking out I would definitely pick it up if you can. Even with it’s inconsistencies I will probably be back.
