This place is nowhere close to me– not in the least. However, myself and the hubby have made trips here to stock up on their patties and coco bread. The only veggie patty that I order on purpose– for taste and not because I am trying to fake healthy. Hands down the best in the city and they do not skimp on the meat, chicken and veggie fillings. Crust is perfect– wish they could tell me how they do it. I so wish they were much closer to me but that might not be the healthiest thing for me.

Kingston Tropical has some of the best patties and coco bread in the Bronx. Their bakery offers breads, cakes, spice buns and other traditional Jamaican pastries. I would have given 5 stars but there is another(but smaller) patty shop on 238th street and wpr that has way better customer service with patties and bread that are just as delicious. The people are not friendly at Kingston. But the quality of the food somewhat makes up for it.

I remember this place from my childhood and I absolutely love it! The cocoa bread is so good, always soft and delicious. The beef patties are very good, but not like royal Caribbean bakery but good regardless. Also their cinnamon buns are very good. Every time I’m in the bronx, I ahem to stop by and get something from there. Simply just a great place to eat from.

I travel from upper Westchester County to buy patties & coco bread. The coco bread is wonderful with butter baked in. Great for lunch, dinner or snack. Always filling and never disappoints. I order cocktail patties for parties. My large Jamaican family has me order dozens of patties for traveling. Only patty that holds a light is tastees patties in Jamaica

I travel from upper Westchester just for their Veggie patties and cocoa bread. Absolutely delicious!!! The service can at times be a little spotty as on two occasions when I went there I was treated a little rudely, but I get that sometimes a day isn’t going so well. And remember that they only accept cash. So be prepared! But don’t let that stop you from partaking in some great cuisine.

My husband and I love this place. There’s always a line, but the veggie patties are worth the wait. Also wonderful carrot cake!

On a search for the best beef patty in NYC, I found this place on Unilocal and decided to «pass by» by driving 30 minutes out of my way… but isn’t that what all Unilocalers do? Anyway, the spice was great — good heat, and overall tasty! … but, I’m pretty picky(in life) … so, the patty dough was thicker, doughier and more bread-like than I prefer; usually i prefer the flaky crispy kind of patty — but to each their own. If you’re looking for a flakier patty, try Champion bakery a few stores down.

3.5 starts — MAX Popped in here expecting to be blown away and found their patties to be just okay. Ordered the chicken and veggie. Crust is tasty. thicker and lighter in weight and color than that of Golden Krust. Fillings — eh. The chicken is blended with a curry-like paste. similar to Tower Isle. You probably will not find an actual chunk of meat in this one. The veggie was my least favorite. Stuffed with steamed veggies but it was bland. I definitely prefer GK’s veggie version over Kingston’s. They have a following here! The shop is small, lines are long, but they move. They carry a pretty wide selection of bread and rolls. Homemade cakes/pastries are also displayed but don’t look very appealing. Staff are pleasant. Don’t think I’ll be back.

There patties are good! I got the chicken and beef and both were perfectly hot and tasty! I tried there bread pudding very different then any I’ve tasted, but what swept me away was there carrot cake! Probably the best carrot cake! No frosting, but perfect bite! And all of this was about 8.00 including a drink! Cheapest and best meal I’ve had! Will be coming back :)

The best Jamaican beef patties! Flaky crust, full of meat(compared to Golden Krusty), and fantastic coco bread! It’s cash only(learned the second time when I bought 20 patties and froze 16 of them(ate 4 on the way back home). The chicken patty was decent, but I wasn’t a fan of the veggie patty(nor was the girlfriend). Pro-tip: Slice up some fresh cheese(not the Kraft kind), cut open the patty, add the cheese in with the meat, and then heat it up again for a cheesy beef patty.

I moved to this area on April and went to this bake shop for some patties. I walked out with pinch bread… some incredibly delicious salty cheese and a couple of spice buns. The smell was amazing right when i walked in. Everything was fresh the bread was warm in my hands i loved it with the cheese… I’m normally against anything processed but this cheese product worked so well with the pinch bread and the spice bun… scrumptious

Was very disappointed that they were not open on Memorial Day. My husband and I wanted to get a couple of dozen parties to bring back to Maryland and they were closed. I don’t understand how food establishments close on a holiday such as this one. This is when people spend money for cookouts!

Very clean establishment, staff was fast and efficient with everyones order. I had a vegetable patty with coco bread. This was my first vegi patty, and i must say it was quite tasty with just the right amount of heat. Coco bread was amazing as all good coco bread should be, light fluffy and buttery! Total cost; $ 2 patty $ 1 bread — — — — $ 3.00

Whenever I am in the area I stop by to get some Jamaican baked goods. This bakery is the best I have tried for Jamaican bullas and bread in either Brooklyn or the Bronx.

I like Golden Krust but I LOVE this place. The Jamaican beef patty was stuffed full of meat and it was delicious. The Coco bread was hot out of the oven. Incredible. It’s only a block from the 2 train and 225 street Grand Concourse. I wish it was a little closer to my house but for those of you near here, don’t miss it. Yummmmmm
