This has got to be the worst Lucille Roberts location. I have been a customer of Lucille Roberts since the 90’s and their locations have recently had some renovations done. However, I think they left this location untouched. The space is much bigger than the previous location on Third Ave. but the equipment is old and very outdated. Not sure why this location wasn’t renovated as their other locations were but the staff is fairly pleasant and helpful.

I visited this Lucille Roberts since I had to be in the Bronx early and I didnt know what to expect. I experienced a clean facility with very friendly staff. They didnt have a lot of equipment but what they did have appeared new and modern. The classroom is way too small for the amount of customers coming in. Thank goodness I was there early and secured a spot in the back because that room filled up quick. I took the 9:30AM «Just Step» class with«Eric» and it was fabulous. I really wished I lived closer so I can take his class on Saturdays. A lot of of the Lucille gyms have replaced the step classes with«zumba,» so it was refreshing to bust a sweat on the classic«step.»

Ok, the Lucille Roberts that I went to is apparently closed, but I still wanted to write a retroactive review about this company… BECAUSE I HATETHEM. But anyways, back in 2009, I moved from NYC to Hawaii. I gave them plenty of notification, and asked to be released from my contract accordingly – they said ok. When I moved to Hawaii, I was still getting charged for my membership. They said it was because I hadn’t shown proof of residence change. Ok, fine. I sent them my college stubs, copies of my student IDs and Hawaii State IDs, electric bills… EVERYTHING they asked for. I was STILL getting charged. Months and months and months dragged on of angry letter writing, and unanswered phone calls. In the end, I had to close down my Chase Checking Account they were taking automatic payments from just to stop giving them money. I probably paid them 300 bucks while living about 5,000 miles away FORNOTHING. If they make life difficult for their members on a regular basis, it’s no wonder they’ll have places close down one at a time. The ratings for their other locations are pretty awful too – take this as a warning sign and STAYAWAY from Lucille Roberts. Good Riddance. Their classes they offered weren’t even all that great, and their equipment was very limited.
