This is another one of those local spots you’ve just got to check out! With the same décor from the 80s(and probably older) stands LuLu’s– a mini diner and staple of Castle Hill Ave. Growing up, this was THE spot to get breakfast– way before big name donut chains became everyone’s default. Scrambled eggs with bacon and home fries is the classic choice, and scrambled eggs & bacon on a roll for an «on the go» kind of day. I’ve also done lunch here which is just as good no matter what you choose. The food is not by any means gourmet– but it sure is comforting. Service is friendly, prices are decent, and there’s a fair amount of seating. However during busy times(mornings and times after church lets out) it might be tough to get a seat. Cash only!

Went here today for breakfast for the first time, had the sweetest little women working there. The food was pretty good too. I’ll definitely be back just for the service.

This place back in the day was the best but now they serve burnt burgers and tasteless food. If you order for a delivery it’s a every high chance that you’ll receive the wrong order. I’ve been living on castle hill all my life it’s sad to see this place go down.

One of the last standing luncheonette’s in New York City, Lulu’s has the best coffee in town! The cheeseburgers are juicy and pretty darn tasty as well. And if you order up a cheeseburger deluxe, don’t forget to wash it down with Lulu’s Black and White milkshake… mmm. Once you become a regular, the friendly staff serves up all your favs in a jif with you having to utter a single word. Apparently, Jennifer Lopez and her family used to be regulars at Lulu’s when«Jenny from the Block» lived in Castle Hill. Mickey Rooney once delighted his taste buds when he once ordered up a plate while filming on location nearby.

Food is actually quite good — better than Jimbo’s — but the staff is annoying and there’s usually only counter service since the tables seem to be always occupied. Parking in the area is kind of a pain too. If the place were bigger(like Jimbo’s), with more tables, I’d give it four stars for the food itself(because I could be more insulated from the staff).

Came here bc i was in the area for work. Its a cute old school luncheonette counter. The ladies are super sweet and nice. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap, it was pretty good.
