Just found five pube-looking hairs in a coffee cup. The place looked like an angry mob had attacked the restaurant last night about half an hour before I arrived to get a cup of coffee. The first cup had some weird brown things in it that looked like maybe bits of coffee had stuck to the side of the carafe so I asked for a new cup. After almost finishing the second cup which looked normal, I find two coarse little hairs stuck to the walls of the cup at the bottom. Nasty. If I felt like it would do any good, I’d report it to the police but why bother? This place is plagued by hoodlums at night, as well as people fiending for drugs asking to use the restroom.

I actually don’t mind McDonald’s, but this place is HORRIBLE. The service is NEVER good, not once. I once ordered a ice cream cone, when the person getting it realized there weren’t any cones left near the ice cream machine, she just went to the next order… then the next person did the same thing, and the next. Finally I asked about it and someone went off in a huff to the back to get more cones. Were they just going to never fill my order until I left? I’ve been here several times, the service has always been horrible, avoid it if you can.

Absolutely the worst Mcdonald’s ever, I ordered a smoothie and they literally left it there on the table after they made it for 10 mins– I wanted to see how long it would take before someone called my number and finally asked the lady for the smoothie and got an attitude. Oh and the whole time I waited some lady had her kid running wild through the restaurant screaming and playing and I got kicked 2 times by the kid. All I wanted was a smoothie :(

Let me just preface this review by saying that this McDonalds gets 3 stars on the scale of McDonalds alone. Obviously, if you took the best McDonalds in the entire world, it would rate maybe two or three stars on the objective, universal Unilocal scale. Understanding that there are different criteria for McDonalds, let us move on. This is a pretty standard New York McDonalds. It has no drive through, and the soda fountain is behind the counter, so you can’t just get yourself endless refills on your small soda. Being in the Bronx, it is cheaper than Manhattan McDonalds and participates in national promotions, which is a plus. The environment in this restaurant is not great. The seating area is small and not very well maintained. There is an upstairs seating area, but it is rarely open, even during busy times, which can make it very difficult to get a seat if you go at a popular time. It can get very hectic and there is not very good line discipline. The food is standard McDonalds fare, with the addition of the double Filet-o-Fish. For Filet-o-Fish aficionados like myself, the addition of an extra patty to the standard Filet-o-Fish is quite a treat. It’s a little too expensive for what it is, and it could use more tartar sauce to make up for the extra fish. That said, it’s a fun sandwich. If you are in the Fordham Road area and you need a McDonalds fix, you’d be best off skipping this location and walking a few blocks to the other McDonalds. It is to the east, at the corner of Southern Blvd. and Fordham Road. It has shorter lines and is generally nicer. If you’re feeling lazy, though, this location will do just fine.
