They’re closed. Apparently the city kept giving them a hard time due to parking regulations. Ridiculous.

Pretty good pulled pork and reasonably priced. I bumped into them at some kind of street festival in Manhattan. They were at Broadway and 53rd. I got a pulled pork sandwich with a side of apple-slaw for $ 8. Wouldn’t mind getting it for lunch regularly if it was nearby.

Another Triple D joint off the list. Putting aside weird location, BBQ was good(not great, just good.) Portions were well sized and staff was friendly. If in the neighborhood, I would give them another try.

Whenever I’m in the hunts point area of the Bronx I have to stop by and pick up some of best bbq I’ve ever had. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that this is from a food truck but they’ve been doing it for years and they’ve mastered it. No wonder why they’re world famous. Pulled pork is my favorite, that’s why I get the platter its served over wild rice with 2 sides of your choice and a slice of white bread. I get the Mac & cheese and baked beans. Then a generous amount of delicious BBQ sauce is put over the top. There’s enough food here for 2 people, it’s packed with flavor, and it’s under $ 12! So if your in the area stop by because it’s totally worth it…

Food is fantastic. Pulled pork is my favorite here. Also bought a bottle of their Cayenne Pepper Sauce and I put it on everything

SO… After seeing this joint on DDDs, of course I had it on my radar. Had a day off from work recently and decided to venture out to Hunts Point for some Guy Fieri-approved BBQ. The place is located in a very weird location, right near a bunch of auto repair shops. I expected this from all the reviews here, so no surprise there. I ordered the BBQ Ribs platter and the Pulled Chicken platter. One look at the place and it’s location and«cleanliness» does NOT come to mind, and I also expected this, but seeing the guy there pull my chicken and ribs from large plastic containers, where they store it, was certainly surprising. The platters came with rice, and two sides. My sides were cornbread and potato salad for one platter and cornbread and cole slaw for the other. Overall, I was not impressed with the sides. However, my fiancé liked the slaw. Cornbread was very sweet but almost tasted like something I could buy in the supermarket. I doubt it’s baked on site. My Pulled Chicken was alright I guess. Nothing special really. The Ribs were pretty good I thought, but the portion was only 4 ribs, that’s not even a half rack. They were tender but not fall-off the bone, which I prefer. I like ribs tender but with some chew. The sauce was good also. I paid $ 23 for everything. Considering the location of this place and my personal liking, I doubt I will return.

This review was removed by Unilocal… I just wanted to make sure it got its due time and space… There are very few anomalies better than seeing in the Hunts Point section of the BX: 1. A young Caucasian pit master from NJ 2. Anyone with a passion for food and cleanliness 3. Anyone with a passion for smoke and perfection 4. Incredible potato salad n cole slaw That being said, one can guess I am pretty friendly with this lunch trucks operators… My favorites are the Ultimate pulled pork sandwich and my 10 year old son aka Kimchi boy(I have Korean roots) and his Mexican cohort little taco girl… RAVED about the smoked ribs and the YUMMY barbeque sauce. Prep times may leave some perturbed but remember love and passion take time. God willing u will stop by and say hi to Gavin,(pit master) and tell him the Chinese laundry man convinced you to give em a try.

I saw this place eat streets and i really wanted to go. It was hard to find time because I work during the week and they close at five. I found them on a saturday. I think he said the hours were 11 – 4. So i really wanted ribs and pork. I was nervous after reading some of the reviews but im glad i came. The ribs were meaty and smoky. I think he said they use cherry wood from nj which was cool. I had the collards which had a smoky hint. I mixed them up with my rice and black beans and some mogridders hot sauce. Yummm. My son had the«ultimate» pork sandwich. This thing was massive and messy. My son loved it. We came early and it was smart bc they dont over stock there. In my opinion this place is spot on. Just call ahead and make sure they will be there and ask what they have on stock. Ill be back for sure. Just make sure u come knowing its an industrial area and its a trailer on a auto lot. Its not fine dining but this dive does bbq better than most in the area.

Do yourself a favor and stay away for the sake of your health. The trailer never gets cleaned. It’s parked in a truck lot up the street from where they work. They are supposed to take it to a commissary every night but they don’t. It may taste okay but it’s a food poisoning roulette.

Their food truck is located on the corner of Hunts Point Avenue and Randall Avenue on the lot of a gas/repair station. Their burgers are great, but everything else has an issue. The collar greens were too salty, potato salad needed more flavor, the rice was bland. There are specials on the menu, but they’re usually sold out by noon along with their other menu items. I’ve made 3 visits to their truck. I keep trying them hoping they’ll get better.

a box of lies… i was watching the food network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives… i’m also a big fan for smoked meats, sure enough — i believed Guy Fieri… i took the time to head out there on Sunday around 12pm! CLOSED! saved it for the following Saturday… drove out there at 12pm again… he was open. everything smelled, i dunno… i mean there was smoke, but is it from the food truck or transmission shop? blah, we were hungry. so we ordered the well renowned beef brisket and pulled pork, with sides of mac’n cheese and beans! who can i get my refund from? Mogridder’s BBQ or Guy Fieri?! 1. the website and hours of operation is… i dunno. i paid 2 tolls! 2. the dry pulled pork NEEDEDMOSAUCE! 3. the dry beef brisket NEEDEDHELP! 4. the canned beans… well, it speaks for itself. 5. the mac’n cheese had a great powder mix… lesson learned — don’t believe everything you see on tv… a box of lies…

Stay away this truck is dirty, does not serve«bbq» and food is barely cooked. I had the chicken platter and chicken was undercooked, no seasoning and the sides were terrible.

We got takeout yesterday because we had a groupon that was about to expire. This is a food truck located in an industrial area where you have to pass a not so affluent neighborhood to get to it but its perfectly safe during the day and convenient because we work and live in the bronx. Go early our ribs were moist even after reheating in the oven for dinner and it had that charred bark taste. Pulled pork I’ve had better it wasn’t that moist or flavorful on its own and really didn’t taste like cue. More like roasted pork in the oven a tad over cooked. We microwaved it and added it to our potatoes sliders and after«fixing» their cloyingly sweet BBQ sauce with our own mustard and vinegar(my family is from south Carolina so sweet BBQ sauce isn’t our thing) and topping it with their coleslaw(which was fresh and crunchy and good) we had a pretty good pulled pork slider. Greens were tasty and spicy and the beans were delicious. I would say skip the Mac and cheese it just wasn’t worth the $ 4.50 to get some over cooked noodles with processed cheese with no texture. However my 8 month old loved it. Would I go back? Maybe in a pinch but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Went back for another feast! Had a Groupon, so that helped. I would come back to Mo’s even without the Groupon. The young man who runs the truck does a fine job. When we got there at 1pm on a Friday, he was already out of ribs! GETTHEREEARLYFORRIBS. But the chicken and pulled pork were delicious. Sides were totally fine. NOT A FANCYPLACE — just good food and reasonable prices. Read on Unilocal some people didn’t like the food — we never had any problem. If you have a problem, tell him and he’ll give you something else! Truly! Most folks seem to take their food to go, but we sit at the picnic tables and eat right there. That way we get a chance to chat with the owner. I’m glad Mo Gridders is back. CHECKHIMOUT11AM — 5PM. CLOSEDSUNDAYANDMONDAY. OPENTUES — SATURDAY. SOWORTHTHETRIP!

I too used a groupon that i had for weeks waiting for them to reopen AGAIN… Got the two meat platter. Ribs were good not great, the brisket was pulled from a plastic container so I’m not sure if ghats how they store it or that’s their way of re-heating it, but that was just ok as well… greens and rice were just TOOOOODAMNSALTY!!! And the Mac n cheese was reminiscent of Kraft boxed crap not worth going out of my way to the car repair district for bad food. It’s the sides that really bring it down. Staff is friendly however just watch the heavy handed salt drop. Just 86 the rice. Do you even taste it before you serve it? Guy Fieri’s hair is turning natural over this.

I had a groupon and was eager to use it based on the reviews I read about this place. Got the small chicken platter with rice and black beans. The chicken was not a smokey flavorful taste in fact it was dry. Couldn’t finish the rice and beans — way too salty. Season your rice and beans, don;t dump salt on it thinking you are creating Flavor. The party of four waited until we all finished before we weighed in our comments. All were Disappointed !!!

Went to lunch there on 5÷7÷13. I’m not an expert foodie but I have delicate taste buds. And OMFG were those rice and beans SALTY! The Mac and cheese was runny and tasted of fake cheese. The BBQ chicken was dry and tasteless. Should have known there was something wrong when the guy who works there A) had no gloves and B) had dirty fingernails. To top it all off, they had NOBRISKET, which was what the BF wanted to try. Won’t be coming back.

Was watching the Food Network the other night and the triple D’s was on and just so happened to show NY! I instantly shot up, grabed my beer, pulled up a chair and watched the episode like it had the answers to all my questions! Mogridder’s was one of the spots… it most def hit my «to do list» next morning, rounded up some buddies nd headed on over to good ol’ Bronx! Couple of the dudes ordered the half rack of st. louie ribs, which came with two sides(cole slaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, baked beans, collard greens) I ordered the hot bbq wings… food was ok… I expected better… nevertheless the experience was worth the trip out…

I did not see this place on Guy Fieri’s show. In fact, I’ve never even seen the show. I remember seeing him on a TGIFriday commercial and quickly changing the channel every time; that Guy is ugly as shit and annoying as hell. Regardless, my Dad works in the neighborhood and I know it reasonably well. While it is odd that a car shop would start selling food, keep in mind this place is practically across the street from Hunts Point Market, the primary food distribution hub of NYC; its not that big of a stretch when that – along with the disposition of the blue collar guys in this neck of the woods – is considered. Either way, the fact that this place exists is awesome. Anyway, I got a takeout order of a pulled chicken sandwich with potato salad, which also came with a pickle. The pulled chicken was pretty good, not great just because it was a little dry and needed some more sauce. The sauce itself was great and vinegary, just needed a little extra something maybe to balance it out, but that might just be a person preference. The potato salad was ok, but I’ve had better. The pickle was great though, nice and flavorful. Overall it was good for the price, but I wish I had gotten a platter(has much bigger portions). I also got to try the roast turkey, which I liked a lot more than the chicken. Next time I’l probably order that. I think my problems with the place are pretty minor, which might warrant a re-rating in the future. Also I might try their new restaurant that they opened in Belmont(all places), which has a much bigger menu. I wouldn’t suggest anybody come up here just for the BBQ unless you’re a huge BBQ nut, but if you’re in the area its definitely worth a detour. Not many people do real BBQ in NYC, after all.

After seeing Food Network’s «Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives» my wife and I wanted to try it out. Guy Fieri doesn’t have excellent journalism skills, but he knows what to eat. On a Saturday we drove to Hunt’s Point and ordered two platters: 1) Pulled pork, collard greens, potato salad and 2) Pulled chicken, corn and mash potatoes. Both came with rice and 2 slices of white bread. With 2 cans of diet coke, the total was $ 22. This place operates with short hours of operation. It closed up shop at 1:30pm… On a Saturday? But the website and menus say 2:00PM! Potential customers came and were turned away… «but I came all the way from the City!» The outside tables were empty, but it was too hot. We walked to the auto body shop and sat inside. There are a handful of tables with napkins, hot sauces, etc. To digress, I did wish to point out that there are complimentary bottles of «Underberg» lying around. If you buy this at the counter, they are $ 2. I was curious and much to my chagrin, did not enjoy it. Underberg is a 20 mL alcoholic beverage, which is consumed at the end of a meal. The mini-bottle is protected by brown paper and has the Underberg label glued on. The drink claims to aid the digestion of food. It is supposed to imbibed like a shot. I took it down and it initially tasted like warm Jagermeister(ok); however the digestif left a bad, hot garbage after taste. Blech! Our food was ok. It’s not the best BBQ I’ve had. Next time I will try the ribs and other items to give it a fair shake. I am not sure this is worth the trek to the Boogie Down. If you wish to venture here, please couple it with a trip to the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Yankee Stadium, etc. IFHTP1
