Mon Ami Discount Liquors

Oh, Mon Ami!
This little gem is by far the cheapest liquor store in the neighborhood, and it kind of looks it. Everything is behind bulletproof glass, and the carpet is all ratty, but the deals found here are spectacular. Sometimes it seems (especially with wine) that they don’t know what they are selling (and end up pricing it very cheaply).
That said, the wine selection is a little psychotic, although they have a great selection of liquors and most bottles in at least 4 sizes. I love a store in which I can buy a half pint, pint, fifth, liter or 1.5 liter of Wild Turkey 101! This is very helpful for those days where I am being rational and decide not to wake up with a hangover.
The guy during the day can be a little off-​putting and curmudgeon-​y, but the Mexican guy who works nights is super nice and always remembers me, even once giving me credit when I forgot my wallet.
All in all, a very inexpensive happy little liquor store in my ‘hood. The only thing… Stay open later!!! They close at 9 on the weekdays, and 10 on Friday and Saturday! Sometimes I don’t get home from my long day at work before then, and have to walk farther to the open later (and more expensive) store down a block and around the corner.
