New York Ophthalmology

When I arrived and saw that every single seat in the waiting area was occupied I felt that I had made a huge mistake. I quickly asked front desk, «Is this by appointment time or first come first serve?» (It’s both.)
I waited at least 30 minutes for my son to be called. He went through several tests for a issue that Dr. Patel specializes in. He was called by an assistant who was friendly, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Due to the tests he had to take, my son had to sit in the waiting area and wait to be called about 3 times.
Lastly, Dr. Patel saw my son. He did a thorough exam, took his time, and did a great job explaining the retinal issues at hand.
We were in and out within an hour and a half. It hadn’t been nearly as bad as I thought considering how many tests were administered and the attention we received.
FYI: I was recommended here by Dr. Compton in Manhattan. I had been to nurmerous doctors for my son and always received variant answers. Dr. Compton gave me the most thorough, thoughtful examination, and when he recommended me to Dr. Patel, I felt inclined to agree because of the quality attention my son received.

Grams was referred here. I could not be happier. The staff is great with seniors, they are really soft spoken, gentle and reassuring. I was very pleased with everyone that took care of her as we prepped her for surgery.
Negatives: The wait time was ridiculous. Not sure how many patients were there BUT the chairs were full at all times. Kinda interesting watching the seniors move around through the different stages but they have extra seating throughout the hallways.
When we walked in I was really worried by the crowd, and because they didn’t have us on the schedule. Yet they managed to impress! looking forward to having them care for grams vision.

Not my ideal location, however, I was very impressed with Dr. Neal’s CV (curriculum vitae) and received a highly recommended referral from another physician. Had an emergency and the office staff was able to get me in at 9 am to see Dr. Neal. The office is on the 2^nd floor of the building. Office is clean and very modern! Latest equipment and technology. Place was packed at 9 am but has appropriate amount of seating all around the clinic. Dr. Neal saw me and I was in and out in less than 1 ½ hours. Dr. Neal is young yet has tons of experience (Bronx/​Michigan)! Super friendly and young staff. Do yourself a favor and «Über» or «Lyft» it here if you need an eye doc! It will definitely be worth it!
