Raised my son here, home away from home.
They need more real books. They will not take donations…

I usually go here to study bc its quiet during my days off but not during after school hours. They have a few leather chairs with a fold out table supplying outlets so you can plug in your laptops and such. There is also a laptop table with outlets and plenty of computers to use. I requested a book and received it the following week. The location is the best, only a few blocks away from my house.

this library is such a gem. They have a variety of community programs for all ages.
It does get a bit crazy around 3 when the nearby schools let out, but it is generally chaos and crowd free any other time
Of day. My kid had gone to story time as well as the arts and craft hour. The crafts have all tended to be coloring based and many of the crafts get played with for a bit when we come home.
The story times are really great. The kids get to have a little wiggle time and sing as well as the advertised stories.

It’s small and the selection here won’t blow you away, but it’s a NYPL on the literal outskirts of the city, so cut ‘em some slack. The staff is helpful, and being part of the NYPL system, you can get a book delivered if they don’t have it. Don’t expect tranquility when the nearby schools let out, but I’m sure I was the same way when I was a kid, hitting the local library for the latest Choose Your Own Adventure.
I’ll definitely be back (since I have a book checked out).
