While on a work assignment in the Bronx NY my partner and I were looking for middle eastern food. Oasis seemed a perfect spot. Instead we found a mirage. Our first warning should have been that it was empty at 12:30 except for us. Then we waited 30 minutes for our food. Another bad sign. I ordered the lamb and beef shawarma platter. It was not the shawarma I was expecting. Instead it was more reminiscent of warmed over carne asada with lamb. The spices were bland and the meat tough. My colleague had a chicken kebab wrap which he enjoyed. Bread was pita I could have purchased at a grocer. The best part of our meal was the hummus and tabouleh we ordered as sides. Fairly standard for a Middle East restaurant and I was happy they got that right. A final note and the one that guaranteed a single star rating was the charge of 18% tip on our bills. Both of us should have complained.

Oasis is one of the best halal restaurant in bronx! Their service is one of the best, clean and shiny hall private area for the families! A little bit expensive but every penny spent on their food is well spent! My wife likes their lamb soup which is served complimentary as appetizer ;)

I was visiting family in Parkchester & decided to Unilocal somewhere to eat lunch. Oasis came up & we took a chance. We’re of Puerto Rican descent & my family has been living in the neighborhood for over 40 years & doesn’t experiment much. I’ve been blessed to travel the world and love middle eastern food. Both he & I loved this place. Mixed grill platter was plenty & delicious for us both. Hummus to start was fantastic. Highly recommended

I ordered food from here because I wanted something different. I had the chicken kabob platter and I absolutely loved it. The rice was delicious and went perfect with the chicken. The chicken was full of flavor and tender, was not dry at all, it was amazing. I believe my bf ate the platter in less than 5 min lol. I definitely intend on going back soon.

My new go-to spot for middle eastern food. My husband ordered the chicken kabob; chicken was juicy, tender and marinated well. I order marinated beef and lamb-was also delicious. The falafel is the best I’ve had. Also everything is very decently priced.

I would give this spot 5 stars if the ambience and service improved! The hubster and I are big fans of supporting neighborhood spots so when we found Oasis on Unilocal we rushed to try it. We entered the deserted establishment and were looked at as if we had seven heads. Not sure if they weren’t expecting customers due to a private party they were setting up for but if looks could kill we would be twelve feet under! I don’t even recall the grumpy man saying hello. On a side note this cold welcome was not even geared towards our sexual orientation it was just a bad energy that was not customer friendly. Where they lacked in customer service though they made up with the food. The hummus was awesome. So were our entrees; I ordered the chicken kabob with rice and my partner in crime ordered the mixed grilled. Everything we ordered was fresh, well cooked and very flavorful. It’s a shame that the service blew chunks because if it didn’t we would definitely return!

I just ordered from this place and the man that picked up the phone took my order over the phone. He was very rude and disrespectful. They took an hour to deliver my food. On top of that the never rang my bell. In addition, the restaurant(not the deliveryman) called my phone one time and I missed the call. I returned the call a minute later and the same man picked up telling me that he told the deliveryman to come back to the restaurant. I requested that they bring my food. The man on the phone nastily replied not to call him again. He also mad a threat toward me as well. He said: «I will blow your fucking head off». Never go to this place. These people are obviously mafia affiliated or something to make such a threat toward me.

I was introduced to this restaurant a while back, and I was in love with it after my first visit. The restaurant is in, what appears to me, to be a quiet neighborhood. The façade is welcoming, and the interior is phenomenal. It’s so spacious, elegant, and clean! As if that were not enough, the lady who served us was so patient, helpful, and accommodating to our needs. Here is a breakdown of what I ordered. Meat Arayes(5⁄5) — Grilled pita, stuffed with ground meat, melted cheese, and spices. I know, I know… it sounded irresistible to me too, so I ordered it. Wow, the portion was so generous. The cheese was not overpowering, and neither were the spices. All of the ingredients complimented one another so well. My favorite aspect of this dish is how juicy the meat is! I’ve ordered arayes in other restaurants, and sometimes the meat can be a bit dry… but not here! I love meat, and this appetizer left me smiling. Mix Grill(5⁄5) — This dish comes with chicken, kufta, and shish. However, I asked her to substitute the shish for another kufta(I absolutely LOVE kufta!) and she happily agreed. It came with a hearty serving of rice and veggies. The best part is that the chicken and kufta were seared well, but the meat was still so moist. I’ve been around, and few places can pull off what Oasis pulled off with their protein-star Mix Grill platter. This is a jewel in that part of town, and I will certainly be back.

Do not try to order food from this place. On one hand, everything seems to be reasonably priced and PROBABLY delicious but I will never know since I couldn’t even get past ordering with the woman who answers the phone. I wanted to make sure they delivered to my address, so when she asked if she could take my order I asked her if she wanted to know the address to make sure. She said yes, so after telling her my address I give her my order. Then, she asks for my address. I couldn’t understand what was going on and I wasn’t able to make out what she was saying although she did say«Oasis» and I said«I can’t hear you» to which she said«Okay» and hung up. I am laughing. A deep, painful, HUNGRY laughter.

I’m back in the Northeast after being trapped in gastronomical purgatory,(AKA Savannah, GA), for 14 years. One can only take so much of Paula Dean’s cooking before your taste-buds need replacing. I got out just in time. So, that being said here’s my first NYC review. If you find yourself near Morris Park in the Bronx check out The Oasis Mediterranean Restaurant. They have the best tabouli salad I’ve ever tasted. This jewel of a restaurant serves a mostly middle-eastern clientele. I’d like to change that. It offers great food for anyone of any nationality. In addition to the abundant meaty dishes, I found plenty of vegetarian choices, so if you’re a carnivore, omnivore, or a veg-centered nutcase like me, you won’t go hungry. You’ll be glad you came. The staff was helpful and friendly, the service was quick and they have a wonderful selection of middle-eastern deserts to end the meal. Time well spent and your taste-buds will thank you!
