Paddy’s On the Bay

Total locals spot. Tuesday night was quiet, with plenty of TVs showing all the live sports. Sat on the ‘dining’ side. Good 10oz. burger, added mushrooms and cheese. Exactly what I expected. I’m a fan of supporting local. I’m already looking forward to an afternoon overlooking the bridge and water in the summer.

Honestly the worst place in the world. Filled with inbreds and the bartenders are inattentive.

I love paddys, and their oysters are amazing! Always fresh and nice and cold. The rest of their menu is great too, for an Irish bar they really have a great selection. Their bartenders are great too. Very kind and hospitable. Good beer and spirits selection with good prices

On a lil sidenote they are not to friendly with the buy backs… 15 coronas & 15 Amstel’s on my tab not one buy back… Still a fun place

MAYBE I’ll give it another chance only because of the view. I went with a friend and we ordered two quesadillas because, according to her, «you can’t mess up a quesadilla». Boy was she wrong. We are both home because we felt sick to our stomachs after. I think it was the cheese.
Anyway, our waiter was a sweetheart. The bartender wasn’t mean but she definitely had something against smiling. She wasn’t friendly at all and didn’t make us feel welcome. My friend was coughing up a storm because I guess she choked and I asked for water and the bartender said ok and she kept texting and then started mixing drinks. HELLOOOOO LADY! DO YOU NOT SEE SOMEONE COUGHING?! It literally takes less then a min to her a glass of water… especially to someone who is coughing and clearly needs it. When she finally gets the water, she doesn’t even bother to look at us when she puts it down and the straw fell behind the bar and I had to try to reach over and get it myself. So ridiculous. If it wasn’t for the view this place wouldn’t be worth any stars.

Paddy’s has a great location overlooking the water and a cool tiki style deck with outdoor seating. The food is moderately priced but nothing special. Drinks were reasonable but no happy hour :/

This place offers a great menu, and some good seafood, clams on the half shell is one of my favorite. Drinks are very good as well. Went there yesterday, Sunday and sat outside and had drinks and food and they had a great 2 man band playing. The wait staff is fast and friendly.

Great place and food BUT was there tonight and was totally rushed for no reason. We sat down, ordered drinks and appetizers. Before we were done with the appetizers, the main meal came out. After we were done with our meal, the waitress asked if we needed anything, we said no. At this point she gave us the check and said let me know when you are ready. I purposely did not pick up the check, she came back 3 times asking if the check was good while grabbing it. I said no, the 4^th time I ordered another drink. The place was not packed and there was no one waiting for a table. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. If I go out to dinner on a Saturday night, or any night at all for that matter, I DO NOT want to be rushed. And for all your waiters and waitresses out there, it affects your tip BIG TIME. You think you are giving good service by rushing me but all you are doing is taking away from your tip every time you ask me «If I am ready»

Solid bar food, with ice– cold beers. I had wings which were really good. I am a buffalo wing snob and they make the grade. The burgers are also really good. They have really good specials too. I will definitely try a special next time.

The atmosphere is great but the food not so much. We ordered fish and chips which were overbattered and overfried. We were able to change it but the other options weren’t great either. The drinks were really good. Would go back, but just for drinks.

Finally ready to review this place. A great bar, beautiful location and tasty food. Service is welcoming. I come here at least once a month. Give it a try it’s a fun local place.

Had one of the most disgusting meals in my life here. The atmosphere is good if you are a young student great bar but skip the food.

Went there over the summer and had a great time with my girl. Food was good, vibe was, nice and the beer was cold. The only problem was the table of bitches next to us who skipped out on there bill. They looked high maintenance and I guessed they figured paying there tab was beyond them. Me and my girl picked up there tab so the waitress wouldn’t have to pay. What the hell is wrong with people? Anyhow, had a great day there. Cheers.

I don’t know if it’s because I held this place up to Paddy Doherty’s standard and it’s just not. The service is ehh. It is extremely loud and the food wasn’t great. The drinks were it’s saving grace, maybe I’ll try it again but my first time wasn’t really impressive.

Paddy’s is a fun bar with a great view! It’s a local bar and they have good bar food! The steak sandwich is really great! Have a party and get the Beef and Broccoli as a dish choice, your guests will go back for more! The staff is friendly and will help you enjoy your trip!

The only reason to go here if If you’re a college student or local because there’s no big deal about anything. Seafood tasted frozen, waitstaff was not that friendly and forget about buy backs… Rest assured you will leave with an empty wallet and wonder why because your entrée was only $ 17. I’d stick to basics here; burgers and sandwiches. Soup was no bueno. Great view is unfortunately the only great I can say about this miss.

I come here often. Unfortunately, this place has changed. I remember it being a mellow, laid back and enjoyable bar for a quiet evening when it was under old management. Now, it has a lot of ruckus and noise. The bouncers are super douche bags. Really? It takes you ten minutes to know I’m 23+ years old? And why the fuck do you make it a 23+ requirement to enter a bar aimed at college kids? So stupid. i don’t understand. The food isn’t even that good. I had a sandwich when they first opened up and really pissed me off.
Oh, don’t dare sit down under the awning to have a smoke. They’ll reprimand you for that. However, they are selective of when they reprimand you for that because I was there on a Tuesday night and ordered food and they said nothing when my friend smoked under the awning but all of a sudden you want to start causing problems when there are tons of people there? And you also pick on your own staff? Stupid ass bouncers. Maybe it’s just that one guy but hey– a man is judged by their company so all the bouncers get the shaft on this one.
The bartenders are still cool. I like them. I think the girl bartender is cute. Ummm… I don’t know.

I’m a huge fan of this place. Actually I was a huge fan of it under it’s previous ownership and was a little worried about how thing would turn out with its reopening. Turns out, I was very pleasantly surprised.
First, I’m almost sure this is the cheapest beer around these parts, and if it’s not, then it’s the cheapest COLD beer around (not sure what it is with E. Tremont and warm beer). Food is slightly above average for bar food, both in quality and cost. Best burger in the area (sadly this isn’t saying much, but it’s a good burger).and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap is amazing. Really haven’t had much else other than that, but most everything I see people eating looks pretty good. They change their lunch/​dinner specials fairly regularly and are surprisingly varied, if not slightly overpriced though.
Now, what I really like about this place is the atmosphere. This is one of those places where you can either be a regular, or not feel uncomfortably just walking in for the first time. Everyone is super friendly and the staff will make an effort to get to know you and remember their loyal customers.
Not sure what the deal with the negative comments are about this place so far, I’ve never experienced or seen any of what was said happening at this place, always seems to be good service all around unless they are insanely packed, which does happen in the evenings and for special events, but hey it’s a bar, maybe you shouldn’t have had a 10 year old with you.
Live music here is great… not on a set schedule, but a pleasant surprise when it happens.
My only two requests are Miller Lite on tap (please? someone in TN?) and a return of the dart board.

Some random highlights:
1) Ladies — There are hooks for your bags beneath the bar/​above your knees
2) Great view of the water and the Throgs Neck Bridge from their excellent outdoor seating & patio!
3) Min. $ 15 on credit cards, Restroom was clean, Good music selection
4) Potstickers were tasty and the buffalo chicken wrap was the best wrap I HAVE EVER had!
5) *Attractive bar staff/​servers if your type consists of brunette, tan, and gorgeous!
6) Suzie is a very talented bartender; she can mix a mean margarita
–If you live around here, you know this location previously was known as the Harbour Inn. New ownership brought Paddy’s on the Bay in to revamp, renew, and replace.
*Reason #1 why I will be a regular :)
