Tacos were great! Wasn’t impressed with the calamari and cheese sticks. But will def order the delicious authentic tacos again! Fast delivery and kind folks!

Picante picante is located a quick walk away from blink fitness. So if you feel like completely negating your workout like me, give it a go lol. I got the smoked pork and the chorizo tacos. The smoked pork was slightly better. Both were decent but didn’t blow me away. I shared a side of guac with a friend– it was pretty good. Our waitress was sweet enough to offer us some chopped jalapeños to add in to out guac which made it significantly better. I also got two tacos to go for a friend: Tinga and the chicken. Having tried a piece of both, I have to say, I wasn’t too satisfied. The chicken were def blander than the previous two I had.

I don’t understand the great reviews about this place. First time ordering from it and I ordered the Nachos and a quesadilla(Can’t be safer than that). The nachos were extremely saggy. There was not one chip that had its form anymore but the nacho plate was just a «mush» of corn tortillas. The Quesadilla was bland, extremely greasy and the home made tortilla falling apart from itself due to the amount of grease it had. Definitely not ordering from this place again as there are so much better Mexican food out there. Sadly I was looking forward to the reviews being true and this place having authentic Mexican food. On the plus side, the delivery was on time and delivery person was very nice!

I love the food here. Im surprised anyone had bad reviews. The drinks are so delicious, makes sure to get them frozen. My favorite is the quesadilla and the piña colada.

Surprised at the reviews. The food was not at all that great. Order a huge meal for the family. Grilled Pork Chops were bland. Bistec a la mexicana bland, Chorizo taco(Weak) list load of stuff. Only thing decent was the chicken tenders for my son. Rather have Estrella Poblana up the block.

This is why I love Mexican food! This is a good sized restaurant with lovely drawings on the walls. It brings that authentic feel you want when you eat in any restaurant. Wooden tables and chairs adorn the restaurant to continue that authenticity. Upon sitting down, the waitress brought over complimentary chips and salsa. You can immediately tell the salsa is not from a jar — it is definitely made in house. It has a hint of spice but overall its a simple, yummy salsa. I kept it simple and ordered 3 tacos(range from $ 2.50−3.75/each). I ordered the shredded chipotle chicken, al pastor, & shrimp. Each tacos individual ingredients were properly highlighted in its own amazing way. The fresh pineapples in the al pastor popped in my mouth. The caramelized onions in the shrimp taco are perfect. The chipotle had a kick but not overwhelming. You can add cheese, sour cream, lettuce and tomato for an additional .75. I added it to each and it was well worth it. It also comes with slices of lime and radishes. The table comes with two spicy salsas — Hello Delicious! The green salsa is an avocado purée and the red salsa is a smoked chipotle mix. Both are spicy in their unique way. It added the perfect amount of heat to my tacos — I should have asked for some to take home because it was that good! The waitress was polite and provided great details about each taco when asked. My meal with tax and tip was $ 13. Not too shabby for lunch. My pointers: order tacos and add the amazing homemade hot salsas to enhance your dish! Happy dining!

So glad i found this place near the clinic where I work. If you want some delicious mexican food, stop by here! I usually like to judge mexican joints based on their tacos, so i got the lengua and al pastor. Both were seasoned/flavored very well. The lengua i wish was a little more cooked/crispy. it was a bit soft. The al pastor was great and nice juicy bits of meat. Also got the horchata. Not the best i’ve had… i wish it waas a bit more cinammon-y and less sugary, but still really good. one thing i was disappointed with was the sudden price increase. the price for a taco isn’t bad, but then they asked if i wanted it with everything(lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc) which is standard for tacos! but then that added about 75 cents per taco =( Overall, great food and if I’m in the mood for mexican and nearby, i’ll be back!

Gotta say that I’m confused about this place having such a high rating. Perhaps a lot of points are given for the ambience(clean and pretty) and the service(extremely attentive). The food, however, was not four-star worthy. My companion and I ordered nachos with beef and chicken mole to split. The flavor was bland at best, and unpalatable at worst. Again, just baffled by the ratings based on the food.

Best Mexican food I’ve ever had!!! The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. This family owned restaurant is my favorite place on earth. My favorite dish is the flautas. It’s my go to, but honestly everything is amazing! The guacamole is incredible! It’s uniquely made with jalapeños and spices– to die for! Love it

There is nothing like amazing Mexican food like California. It wouldn’t be fair to deduct a star for this though. I loved the food here but the chimichanga de camarón could’ve used more lovin… My friend, her daughter and I was visiting Lehman college… And we got hungry. Searched for restaurants on Unilocal and found this place! Thanks, Unilocal! This restaurant is so cute and the waitress was so sweet! My friend and her daughter never had Mexican food so I ordered horchatas for the adults, mango smoothie for the little girl, al pastor tacos, chicken tacos, chimichanga de camarón, and nacho supreme so they could try it out. They loved it but like I said before… Chimichangas needed more love! Nacho supreme was pretty good. It had chicken, beef and shrimp with guacamole and CHEESE! I wouldn’t order it again though because the al pastor tacos were amazing! It hit the spot! I’m definitely coming back when I’m in the Bronx to try the other entrees here!

Upbeat décor and very clean. Smooth, swift, and cheerful service. Clearly lots of effort and care goes into the operation of this restaurant. Huge downside is the blasting Spanish music, making a nice dinner out mission impossible. They should recognized that they shine best as a family restaurant and not a tacky alcohol free club(no they do not serve alcohol). Prices were also surprisingly high for the neighborhood. Our Meal: $ 7.50 guacamole: Made swiftly at tableside. Appropriate for 2. Average: skip it if you like good guacamole. Chips were of the smooth, greasy variety. Accompanying salsa tasted oddly like a marriage of ketchup with tomato pasta sauce. $ 6 Virgin Pina Colada: Refreshing and conconut-y delicious. $ 13 Chicken Mole Enchiladas: Tasty, generously sized trio smothered with tasty olé sauce and cheese + a side of rice/beans.

This place has some good authentic Mexican food. Yeah you heard me, authentic! A lot of places out there claim to be authentic but serve mediocre Mexican American food. Not picante picante, they put out good shit! No I’m not getting paid for this review and no I’m not related, I’m Puerto Rican. The restaurant is very clean. I was looking all over for a rat because let’s face it, the Bronx is nasty lol. The service was a bit slow but the staff are friendly. I ordered the goat tacos as an appetizer. The goat was very tender, thumbs up. But I was a bit disappointed because it lacked flavor. Even after squeezing lemon on it, I really didn’t get any flavor. I can’t remember the name of the entrée that I ordered. All I remember is that it was a volcano on a plate. Very nice plating too, I must say. It contained chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, cheese, cactus, and magma. So so good.

I just love the food here if you look at the menu with the picture on the wall the lemon chicken meal is very good. The mushroom quesadillas too and the tacos. You can’t go wrong here and it’s very cheap too.

Picante Picante is good but a bit inconsistent and overpriced. When they are on point, the food is great, especially the quesadillas and their homemade salsa.

I’m really in love with this place. Food is tasty, fresh and nicely priced. They recently expanded their store front and have a lot more tables. Delivery is always fast! Salmon veracruzana is delicious and the tacos are great!
