Pretty good b Ecuadorean food. Obviously, the scene and setting, are for the area. But friendly staff, and good food makes this a good stop if you are hungry and in the area. The soups are a whole meal. Comes with rice. I had the mixto. Very good and not salty which is v awesome.

This is a small restaurant with authentic and traditional Ecuadorian food. The décor is simply beautiful and the people that work there are charismatic. It feels like you went to visit your grandmother and she’s cooking in the kitchen while your cousins greet you. This is an amazing place ! Just a warning theirs no menu the food available is whatever they cook for the day. It has a family style feeling to it which I enjoy!!!

Just writing this review makes my mouth water for The Botecito’s awesome ceviche’s. I order the ceviche mixto(octopus, shrimp, tuna) every time i’m there with a side of white rice. I love the shredded lettuce and slices of avocado they place on top which I haven’t seen before but have grown to love. Other Ecuadorian places put ketchup and mustard in their ceviches which I don’t get and honestly don’t like at all. Their breaded fish with white rice and salad sounds simple but it’s oh so good. Come early for the freshest meals b/c sometimes they run out of certain dishes. I highly recommend this humble but really good authentic place. Stay and enjoy the typical Ecuadorian balads that are usually playing in the background. A must try! BYOB

This restaurant has delicious authentic Ecuadorian food. I recommend all the dishes served, because I’ve tried them all! The Bandera is my favorite. It’s a big sample dish with several yummy options(I’ve attached a picture). The environment is warm and friendly. The owner of the restaurant is there every weekend walking around the tables ensuring you’re a satisfied customer. On the weekends you may have to wait 15minutes for a table but it’s completely worth it! I recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to have great meal!

This place is a hole in the wall Ecuadorian spot, that you can just drive right by. It’s in the middle of the block and honestly, I don’t remember there being a sign outside. But looks can be deceiving, because the food is amazing. Whenever I’m feeling run down or under the weather, I like to go and order the fish soup(Viche de pescado) –it has a little bit of everything(sweet plantain, yuca, corn, fish) with a side of rice if you wish. Absolutely tasty, cleansing and energizing. They have different types of cerviche– tuna, shrimp and mixed– which are usually stacked and very tasty. They always seem to be a hit when I have friends try it. The fried fish(pescado apanado) is another great dish with white rice, plaintains and salad. I definitely recommend any of these dishes. Side note, I believe they only take cash from what I remember. Must try if you are looking for amazing, authentic Ecuadorian food.

If you have ever been to this place it literally looks like a hole in the wall. There is no awning with the name of the restaurant on it and I thought my boyfriend was joking when he said that this was the place we were going to for some authentic Ecudorian food. I was actually hesitant in going in and almost turned around and left since it looked run down and I haven’t been to many decent food spots in South Bronx. However, looks can be a little deceiving because once we went inside, it was an entirely different environment. It was very homey as are most traditional /family owned restaurants. There was no menu, so you would have to speak Spanish and ask the lady for their daily specials. I wanted to come here for tripe that my boyfriend said was good, but they didn’t have it the day I went so I was pretty disappointed :( We ordered a pork dish, some vegetable soup, and ceviche. They also served us home made plantain chips which were soo good that I asked them if they would sell me some to go. The ceviche was very flavorful and filled with A LOT of shrimp like any traditional Ecuadorian ceviche. Other than that, I didn’t feel like any of the other dishes were to rave about. I guess you have to be Ecuadorian to fully appreciate the food. But even my Ecuadorian boyfriend said it was only mediocre this time around. No menus mean no prices, so when the bill came, we just paid it since we didn’t know how much any of the stuff actually cost. It was pretty cheap though so it didn’t even matter. I guess it would be beneficial for them to have a menu in English to cater to more customers. I’ll probably be back for the ceviche and to finally taste their tripe.

When judged from the outside this place can look like it doesn’t have much to offer, but its looks are certainly deceiving. Like every Ecuadorian place I’ve been to, the decorations inside make the place feel exciting and laid back. The food is fresh and exactly what you would expect if you go in there craving for any particular Ecuadorian dish. Best Ecuadorian place on the area.
