Outstanding food the rotisserie chicken is flavorful, fresh tasting and well seasoned. Maduros were crispy and sweet, unlike others I had in the past. I can’t wait to eat here again and try something else.

The beer was warm! The waiter couldn’t understand me and also you can’t get rice and beans instead of French fries

The waiter was very rude and unprofessional. I went with my family to have a good time but the waiter keep rushing us and he did not ask how we want our steak cooked. food was cold and he even came back to ask for tip after this bad experience. I will never comeback or recommend anybody to go there. Take for business somewhere else

I have always been a fan of Pio Pio. this location is in Bronx and not too bad for area. pretty decent inside .of course I came for the green sauce(which they should give plenty of) …however it’s still great. moist chicken .salad, rice and beans… delicious

The food was amazing. At first, I thought the dishes were expensive, but the waiter informed us that the dish was enough for 3 – 4 people. We decided to go with the chicken, rice and beans, salad, salchipapa, fried plantains… All of this was one menu option. We also had the arroz Chaufa which was great. The restaurant is family friendly, I wouldn’t recommend going alone. The price is just right for all the food that you get. The menu does not offer a great variety, but I can imagine that all of the items on the menu are delicious. Also, our food was served in less than five minutes. The waiter was friendly and the place was very clean. The location is not the best, and there is street parking which can be a little inconvenient. I’m looking forward to tasting the ceviche next time.

Disclaimer: If you’re looking for a restaurant where you can either share a meal with 1 or 2 orders or if you’re in the mood for«family style» plating for a large group. Recently, I came back to this Pio Pio location to enjoy dinner with a big group. There was plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant and it’s located near a couple of major highways if you’re traveling by car. Does it seem a bit out of place for this section of the Bronx? Absolutely, but I digress… Now, back to my experience, our group consisted of about 10 people and we ordered the following: — Matador Combo: This combo consisted of various plates including their famous rotisserie chicken(juicy/flavorful), yellow rice, red beans, tostones(twice fried plantains), salchipapas(fries with fried small pieces of sausage) and an avocado salad(with lettuce, cucumbers, & tomatoes). For two people enjoying a meal, this combo is PERFECT! If you go to Pio Pio one of the top recommended dishes is their famous chicken, which isn’t dry or bland and that you can top off with their famous spicy green sauce. — Arroz Chaufa: This was like a fried rice dish which had rice, eggs, onions, and comes with the meat of your choice. We opted for chicken. — Lomo Saltado: Lomo saltada(or stirred-fried beef) consists of filet mignon strips, spices, red onions, parsley, peppers, tomatoes, french fries, and a side of white rice. Again, a great dish to share for two people and the beef was delicious! — Jalea: A seafood platter consisting of shrimp, calamari, and squid topped off with red onions, corn, spices, and sauce. Although this didn’t come with a side, it was my go to for the night. I, personally, am a huge fan of seafood, especially when it’s a mix of my faves! I had a great time and would definitely come back here more often.

After deciding to try Pio Pio after hearing people rave about it, I was very disappointed. I received the wrong order and when I called they left me on hold for almost 20 mins. They even blamed the delivery guy and are taking it out of his pay when it was obviously not his fault. Totally unfair. After getting the right order, I was excited to try the mixed ceviche and their fruit ice cream and it was a total let down. The ceviche had more garlic then actual seafood and the ice cream did not have actual fruits. Not worth $ 70 for mediocre food which I can get at El Valle with better service. I will not be ordering again.

The traditional Peruvian food is exquisite! I often find myself ordering lunch there and meeting up with old friends for dinner. This is a true gem in the Bronx!!!

Wasn’t sure what to get for dinner. I had forgot there was a pio pio restaurant in the Bronx always used to going to queens. Read in Unilocal and swung by and ordered the matador. So much food and my husband was so happy with the taste. The restaurant is nice inside too. Can’t go wrong with pio pio in the Bronx great food.

I love this location and the staff. We brought grandma in for her birthday and she felt like a queen! We had the Sangria roja, Ceviche Mixto, Matador Combo, Tres Leche. Sangria was great, grams was very happy, mom could barely walk. Ceviche was unbelievable! Matador was perfection, why are their fries so good!!! Tres leche… oi vei. That was bad, I love dessert but just couldn’t eat it. I would go back and I would order everything again except for the cake.

The setting is beautiful and comfortable, the service is impeccable, and the food is glorious. I would absolutely recommend Pio Pio to anyone interested in a truly«fine-dining» experience.

Came here last night with my honey. After leaving the Bronx Brewery, we looked for a Spanish restaurant. We passed Caridad«Express». No thank you. Next… driving past Cypress Avenue, saw the words Pio Pio. Perfect! Didn’t even know the Bronx had a location! I’ve never been! So we went, just like that and said let’s try it. Had a whole rotisserie chicken, with an Avocado salad and Tostones. The chicken was nice and tender. The salad was lightly dressed, and the tostones were huge(came with garlic sauce). Because we came from the Bronx Brewery, we didn’t indulge further on alcohol, but the Sangria did look good. My lack of a fifth star was the price. $ 16 for a whole chicken. Kinda pricey I think for the neighborhood. Go figure. Oh well next time…

Valentines Day dinner: The menu was obviously shortened for the VDay crowd — which is expected and never a problem at other restaurants… What disappointed me the most was the lack of ‘excitement’ or variety in the shortened menu; lomo salteado, a fried seafood mix and like two other non appealing entrees. Our dinner came out before our pitcher of sangria(o0) — the red wine sangria was delicious. And understandably; it was Vday, so the service was rushed and curt. It was my first time at Pio Pio and I was honestly surprised to find a decent spot in the South Bronx… On Valentines Day. I’ll give them another shot on a regular thursday.

The food is amazing with a cozy ambiance. I definitely have some more items to try but I’d suggest getting the Lomo Saltado & the Matador Combo. Lomo Saltado — Much better with Yellow rice. Matador Combo — Meant for two… Trust me, you wont be disappointed. Oh and how could I forget… The green sauce they serve literally goes with everything ! I’d be willing to bet that it would make the Inca Cola taste better! Parking Parking Parking :-(…That part isn’t so fun.

Does everyone else wonder why the take out orderocof rice and beans its larger than the one you get a at the restaurant? And also when i ordered the lono saltado i litteraly got 2lbs of vegetables and a few strips of the actual lomo and some fries. I love their food but prices could be better but im ot paying 60+ dollars on delivery to get conned on their portions

You can get much better latin food at less than half the price almost anywhere else in the Bronx. El Economico for instance. Decent food, but a rip off compared to the local competition.

This is my favorite Peruvian restaurant, go-to order: Ensalada de Avocado, empanadas de pollo, Juanita’s Chicken, Arroz Chaufa y tostones. The Arroz Chaufa is literally the best fried rice I’ve ever had; it has so much flavor and savory components. The sauces are unique from each other and enhance the dishes perfectly. The standard green sauce is the perfect amount of «kick», the garlic sauce that comes with the tostones is heaven, and the red sauce that comes with the empanadas couldn’t be any tastier. Will always come back, I just have to try the other locations.

I wasn’t expecting to find a Pio Pio in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx but it turns out it was just as good as its other locations around the city. Nice ambiance and good food. I opted for the Chaufa Rice and Red Sangria to bring in the summer. The service was very good. Overall, the experience was pleasantly.
