My last visit here about 2 months back I was told it was it’s last week of business, but I drove by this weekend and it doesn’t look that way but I did not stop, to be sure. This is a high end dinner never crowded or loud. Food is ok not great, nothing stands out except its comfort and extensive room. I would continue to visit if it is still open

sad to have heard their last day was April 21, 2013. Folks didnt have any more information beyond that, if there was a reopening or what. The space beyond the bar has additional tables and service. We went several times in a row and I had the chicken penne vodka which was very filling and came with a house salad that did not skimp on the leafy greens. Another time I had the chicken Parmesan and a apple dessert, kind of like their version of a turnover with cinnamon and sugar and it was amazing! Their bartender is accommodating and the servers and staff were as well. The space is wheelchair accessible, however the bathrooms are not. I did not notice if they had an accessible bathroom with a single stall, but there were only 2 working stalls in the women’s restroom. Need to find a new spot to hang out at, one with a full bar and really good food, and not the type that is frozen and reheated!

Used to go for trivia somewhat regularly. The waitresses mostly seem like they hate their jobs. Trivia actually pretty decent but it takes over three hours and the place is pretty expensive for beers and burgers. Usually we were looking forward to leaving by the end.

We regularly go to Greentree’s– LOVE their desserts and chicken sandwich. Only reason this is not 5 stars are the fries– please go back to the old thin, crunchy fries you used to serve before the renovation.

Mind you, I’ve never eaten the food here… so this review is for the bar. I always love coming here, since it’s my kinda bar. Not too crowded most nights & a usually attentive(& friendly/talkative) bartender. Even though I don’t go there much, I still get bar buy backs-always a plus in my book. Bonus points for the bartender remembering me between visits that span months. And if you like sports, well, you’re in luck. All sports all the time. All this & more in a classy, clean, & non-frat boy bar.

As a postscript to my review of May 2012, for this year, 2012, Greentree has earned 1.75 out of 5 stars. I hope Greentree reads these reviews.

Food is pricey and small in portion. You will enjoy your food, but it won’t fill you from ordering just a meal. Nice bar area is clutch for sports if you want to walk to the bar so not to drink and drive.

My first experience at Greentree was less than perfect. The food was late getting to the table. Our order was wrong. When they took the incorrect order away, no on apologized or explained what was happening. More waiting. We had to ask for refills on drinks. Finally the food arrived and it was vile. Burger burnt into charcoal and Irish sausages and beans that were taken directly from a freezer package and heated up. Just poor service all around.

The food at the restaurant is VILE, the service LOUSY. The waiters forgot we were there, got the order mixed up, and never came back to ask us about our drinks. The food is also disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Madison’s instead. The restaurant should rename itself«The Riverdale Poisoned Food Tree», to more accurately describe the place.

The waitresses are so rude, they completely ruined my experience and I don’t plan on ever going back and will tell everyone I know how awful this place is. They desperately need a lesson in customer service. Way to leave a sour taste in my mouth!

Their chipolte burger was a perfect medium rare and the side of pickles. Prices are a little high but the pub fare is delish.

I am not the type to walk out of a restaurant, but this was one of those experiences. It may have been my fault for not looking over the menu before having a seat, but in my defense, the list of specials out on the sidewalk said $ 7.95 meatloaf, etc etc. Apparently someone had wiped off the 1 on the board, and the meatloaf was 17.95… for meatloaf?! After looking over the menu finding that this place was a Manhattan-priced type of joint, we inquired about the board outside. The 2 waitresses laughed at us, as IF anything would be 7.95! It was too much for their snobby selves to even comprehend. It was at that moment that we made the decision to leave– sorry Greentree, you’re too fancy for me– hopefully some of the rich folks moving out of Manhattan will buy into your hype!

My favorite place in Riverdale! Awesome food! Great Service! A perfect place to do whatever, eat, drink, watch a game and just chill! Must have dumplings, great bar food, large bar selection! Love Mike bar tending on weekdays!

This review is really more for the service than the food. Can’t really complain about the food, its good albeit a little overpriced. But the service is always bad every time we go there. The food takes forever to come out. Waitresses are seen chatting with the bartender instead of giving proper service. I really think I will start going across the street to Riverdale Steakhouse from now on…

This review is solely based on the party they catered for my sister’s rehearsal wedding. I did not try their bar or have a typical dining experience here. We arrived to a decent size party room in the back of Greentree at around 8. The food was already being put out(which is always a good thing), the drinks were also out(a very good thing), and the A/C was pumping(an extremely good thing on a muggy July evening). Some of the highlights food-wise included the breaded mushroom caps, eggplant rollatini, penne pasta in a creamy marinara sauce, mini crab cakes, moist and sweet muffins, steamed veggies, jumbo shrimp and for dessert a cannoli cream filled cake. :drools: I washed all of this goodness down with many Amstel lights and a coffee. Greentree was renovated in the last 18 months. The interior has a very modern design that includes great lighting and flat screen televisions at the bar. Highly recommend checking it out.

This place is not the greatest of bar and grills, but it is fairly decent, though a bit pricey, but what else can you expect in Riverdale. Have come in a couple of times, never really by choice, but I think that this place needs to get real a bit. Lower the prices, serve bigger portions, and quite frankly, stop trying to be a high end bar when you need the business from the local college students.

I went here for a post-commencement lunch with two of my friends, and we had a blast. The crab cake isn’t the same unless you have it in Maryland because it was less greasy and lighter, but good nonetheless. We had salad and pasta entrees, which were all fantastic. The staff is young and very helpful and knowledgeable. The face-lift makes the place feel both homely and refreshing. There’s a great chance old friends will be dining at the next table, so be ready for the awkward conversations! A fun time.

Glad to see that it’s open after renovation. Visited on a Saturday, about 7:30 pm, two people for dinner. Décor: okay, walls are a little bare. Service: they seemed short-staffed when we went, and it seemed that the hostess was assisting the wait staff. The wait staff were hustling, though, to their credit. My wife had prime rib(special), had to ask for a steak knife, and I ordered a burger w/cheese, had to send back for the forgotten cheese. Came back perfect. Food: My burger was outstanding, fries were good, wife’s prime rib was good, though the mashed potatoes were very good. Price: Fair: like prev reviewers said, not cheap, but not too pricey. OVERALL: I would go back, and I would certainly take guests, if looking for something nice, but not as «fancy» as Jake’s Steak House on Broadway.
