Sal’s Pizzeria

They are consistently but not great. However in this area they are the best. Since you have a choice you must choose them. Otherwise your wasting your money.

I ordered a calzone and it was old and stale. Ordered Philly cheesesteak it was all bread. I also ordered buffalo wings and they had no buffalo sauce on them.

The best Bronx slice around! It’s always good, fresh and my to pricy. The owners are really nice too, love coming here.

Never order for Delivery its a 11 min walk from my house and it’s taken 1 hour for the guy to come. Called 30 mins they told me its on the way. And pizza is cold and i didnt take it told them i dont want it take it back

SAL’S pizza is our local place for a slice or a meal. SAL has retired, but the new owner is carrying his name. Come and enjoy a slice or a italian dish. The staff is friendly and you feel like family.

As far as neighborhood places go, Sal’s is one of the best. Their garlic knots are the shit, and they’re very cool about throwing in some marinara dipping sauce whenever I order. Staff are friendly, fast and have been around forever. A good spot to grab a slice on your way home from the D train.

The vibe is very positive over here, and it’s nice pizza joint right by the subways. The pizza is pretty decent also.

I ordered over the phone 2 orders of wings and a chicken caesar Salad and the guy asks «is that just for you?» I don’t know if he was trying to be funny or what but to answer your question NO! NO IT WASN’T. Now on to the food the wings tasted and look like the ones you guy in the freezer section and a super market with a side of Halal hot sauce. The salad was good i just wish they didn’t put so much dressing. Big X in my book.

I’ve been a repeat customer for many many years and have recently shifted from a 5 star to a 3 star rating.
Lately, there seems to be a disconnect between the quality in food you receive when you order delivery as opposed to ordering in store. Apparently, paying $ 23-​$ 30+ an order and supporting the company for years is not enough to keep Sals from avoiding the elementary mistakes they’ve been making recently (i.e undercooked pizza, missing toppings, wrong toppings etc.). These mistakes are expected from any company, but this has been happening on a consistent basis for about a year now. Sometimes to the point where I have to send my order back and wait 45min-​1hr for another!!!
I am by no means picky or a perfectionist, however, I do expect to get what I pay for. Whether I’m at the counter or on the phone ordering, I expect the same result. On another note, when Sals is on point, they are the best pizza in New York! Their full selection Italian cuisine is definitely A+ and Burgers are great.
I love this place and would hate for these mistakes to drive me-​or anyone!-away for good. Hopefully in the near future I can upgrade my review back to 5 stars, this place is truly a gem and my go-​to anytime I need my pizza fixing.

Best pizza in the world. Maybe I am biased because I grew up around the corner, went to Brendan’s, and served mass at the wedding of Sals daughter but it is amazing pizza.
It’s fallen off a little since sal left but it’s still amazing, especially the days Sal comes in during his retirement to work and see people.

Loved the buffalo chicken sandwich! So tasty and great service. Everyone is nice. Always crowded, so you know the food is good!

If you love seafood you will LOVE their *new* lobster bisqu soup! A small bowl was all i needed! Delicious! Great, quick service.

Born and raised in Norwood and this is my absolute favorite pizza spot. Best garlic knots ever! The guys here always treated me as family. I looovvveee Sal’s.

I can see how sals has a B — they should get an F. I am a nurse at the hospital nearby and went to Sals because for many years, until ownership changed Sals had both quality food and great service — today on my lunch break I went to get a meal, upon finishing my meal I saw a ladybug in my salad. I felt nauseous the moment I saw it. I called the waitress over and told her I would like to speak with the manager about the issue. I was highly disappointed by the lack of professionalism from this individual who seems to be managing the establishment, he said it was a ladybug, that it was lucky. He asked what did I want him to do, and I told him I wanted the meal comped at which point he accused me of putting the insect there myself. He also commented about how at least it wasn’t a roach. Is this man high? The kind of bug in my food does not change the fact that an insect that was flying around, landing on literally all kinds of s*** was taking a stroll through my salad. I am at work now highly disgusted, my stomach hurts, and I am so upset by this man brushing me off with a «at least it wasn’t a roach». Does that mean you have roaches and probably worst hanging around your kitchen? I hope you get shut down, clean your kitchen because I called the state on you clown!

Sals pizza is a nice neighborhood pizza place. The food off the menu is delicious because it is actually cooked when requested the pizza that is there is ok not the best unless you ask for a pie which are fresh the regular slices just sit there for sometime and I avoid this as I understand the flow of customers are not consistent at certain hours only in the evenings I usually see a lot of people getting their dinner. In all its still a nice neighborhood place to visit.

My husband snd i just had dinner here at the restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is great. We got chicken marsala with penne vodka and gyro deluxe. It was delicious!!! Highly recommend this place.

I work at Montefiore Medical Center and I decided to check out Sal’s Pizza because its highly regarded by many of my coworkers. Now, it has become routine for me to grab a sandwich or a slice anytime I have to take the D train to Manhattan. In particular, the Chicken Parm hero is delicious. The service is always on point and the counter help is always eager to please. This is a great pizza joint.

Sals been around for years. He has the best pizza and food in the Norwood section. Been coming here since a kid. Dinner plates are delicious and when my family and I don’t drive out for some Italian food we just walk up the block to some good ol Sals. Staff is friendly and the waitresses try a little to hard for that tip but I guess that’s how they need to be. Anyone who give this place a bad rating must be in a bad mood or just out of their mind. Sals been a part of my life for years and wouldn’t trade it for any other spot.

This is a nice little spot pick up a couple good slices in the Bronx. The guys behind the counter are always friendly and courteous and eager to serve. If you like your slices not too thick and not too thin you can’t go wrong here.
